Constellations, II

Shuule woke up groggily to the smell of breakfast being made outside - rich garlic and shallots wafted through the door that had been left slightly ajar. For a split second, she forgot the events of the night, casually throwing the covers off of her and moving to roll over to get out of bed, but the birth came rushing back as her stomach cramped.

It was a dull ache, easily pushed down, but it caught her off guard, cursing to herself before she looked over at the lone egg, bundled in a towel, sitting on its thrown of a massive nest. It looked rather ridiculous on its own, and she felt like she could just leave it on its own.

Calling down to ask for her breakfast upstairs, both Ukko and Set climbed back up, not wanting one to outdo the other. Ukko presented her with a broth made of bird stock, garlic, and spinach, while Set had made her some steamed shortwing eggs. He never bothered trying to cook since they had come to the city, but Shuule was delighted with both.
