Memories

One week later

Amberle on the dining table lost in thoughts, she was so lost in thoughts that she didn't notice the presence of her younger sister beside her.

" Hey sis, what's up? You have been staring at your phone for the past one hour, Is anything wrong?," Anna asked worried as she saw her sister's behavior.

" Oh Anna, I don't know what to do. I'm just happy that you're done with your studies before this happened," She replied sadly and Anna could not help but wonder what was bothering her.

" What happened Amberle? Tell me. You know you can tell me anything right and I will really like to know what's bothering you so I can be of help to you," Anna said as she moved closer to her.

" My Agency is going bankrupt and they are dropping workers. I've been so scared to check if my name is on the list. I know I'm not a full time agent and they might not want to keep me. I don't know why this is happening to me and I don't know what to do about it Anna," Amberle replied almost in tears.

" Calm down Amberle, you don't have to panic. We'll check for your name together and even if you're dropped, we can still try out other agencies. You've worked with them for years and if they don't value your presence, it's their loss. I think it's high time you move on too and get a job somewhere else," Anna responded, trying to comfort her sister.

" You don't understand Anna, the agency pays really well and that's where I got the money for most of your education and Even if I get another job, what's the guarantee that they will pay me well. I can't go back to collecting peanuts Anna," Amberle said devastated.

" Then we'll submit your credentials to top agencies and companies and with your long working experience and charisma, you are sure to secure a job at any good company. We'll check now to know your fate so we will know what to do," Anna replied and her sister became calm.

" Okay, let me check my phone now," Amberle said as she brought out her phone, she opened a file sent to her and its content sent tears to her eyes. " They fired me Anna, I'm going to lose my job," Amberle said in tears and her sister pulled her in for a hug.

" It's going to be okay big sis, you can rest today and we'll start our job hunting together tomorrow. Please don't cry, I know something big is coming for you. I can feel it already, you just have to be ready for it," Anna replied as she consoled her.

" Okay Anna, I'm not going to cry. Don't tell mum about this for now please, until I get a new job at least," Amberle muttered as she wiped her tears off her face.

" Cross my heart big sis, we will tell her our good news tomorrow. Prepare for an adventure sis," Anna replied excitedly.

" Job hunting is certainly not an adventure Anna, you'll discover that tomorrow,"Amberle said, poking her head with her finger.

" Ouch, that hurt. We'll see about that tomorrow sis, no Agency will be able to resist you," Anna replied and they both laughed.

Joseph stared at his father, Julian Wright who was on life support. His father had been unconscious since the accident, he wanted to feel pity for him but he couldn't and he totally understood why. His father had always hated and treated him cruelly after their mother's abandonment, he made him believe his mother abandoned him because she didn't care about him and that made him harbour hatred for her.

Joseph stared at his father as he fought for his life, a part of him wanted him to die while another part of him wanted him to wake up and show him the love that he never knew right from childhood. Joseph never understood his father's hatred towards him, he was always put down and insulted by his father and his brothers were his only form of hope. He hated him for all he had put him through, he hated him for what his brother faced and that brought a memory he had been struggling to forget come back.

It was a beautiful morning, a young Joseph had woken up feeling very happy. He didn't understand his unusual happiness that morning but he wanted it to remain that way. He went into his Brother's room to see their nanny Mama Perri preparing him for school, he noticed his brother was unhappy and was not responding to her at all.

" What happened Champ? Are you good?," Joseph asked Jeremy as he saw the look of displeasure on his face.

" I don't want to go to school today Brother, I want to go to the company with you so I can help you," little Jeremy whined with tears dropping from his eyes.

" Oh little brother, you have to go to school so you can obtain the knowledge you need to run the company. What would you do if you follow me there today?," Joseph asked him and he stared at him speechless for a while.

" I'll help you arrange your papers," little Jeremy had replied and he laughed, his laughter however turned into a frown when he heard a voice behind him.

" I spend millions on your education and you want to skip school, what kind of a mistake are you?," Their father said from behind them and little Jeremy shivered from his father's voice.

" He is only a kid Dad, he doesn't know what he's doing," Joseph defended and that ajitated his dad.

" You've spoiled him to the core but I won't let you do it anymore," Their father replied, moving towards little Jeremy angrily.

" He didn't mean it dad," Joseph interjected, blocking him from reaching him but his father pushed him away to the ground and the next thing he heard was a slap on his little Brother's face which made him scream and wince in pain.
