AT THE PARTY
The party had long begun, just a teenage party without adults being at the watch. Jack , Finn and Lindsey had been chattering by the corner with couple of students from school sipping on beer.
''I'm just gonna check on Jenny up there, you know!'' Jack said giving Fin a light punch on the shoulder, Finn smiled. As soon as Jack was gone, Finn moved closer to Lindsey who had been texting someone, he was curious to know who she was texting, he was getting infuriated at the fact that she was smiling over it. He cleared his throat to cause a distraction, she quickly exited and turned to him with a faint smile.
''Oh uh! Finn!'' she called out softly as he smiled too.
''I uh…You know. You look beautiful!''
''Thanks! Are you even enjoying this party, I mean you look a wreck Finn, always.'' She stirred
''I just don't know, maybe you could…'' He heaved a sigh, should he really ask for a kiss or not. ''Wanna get outta here? Kinda? It's really okay if you don't want to.'' He jabbered shyly
''That's a great idea Finn, I was actually bored. Good thing you asked.'' She said. He doubted the 'bored' part, she was smiling over her text and she was talking about being bored? He shunned it anyways. There was no reason to be jealous. He held her by the hand walking towards the entrance as she retracted her steps, he was confused about that move.
''I think we could visit the restroom, what'd you think?'' she giggled then dragged him by the arm without waiting for an answer. The restroom was empty, the students weren't occupying it as expected. They booth stood staring at each other in the eyes, there as an awkward silence between them. Finn cleared his throat as a distraction she smiled instead.
''Lindsey i…uh I think you are amazing and…'' He swallowed up firstly. He was getting nervous staring into the mirror behind her back, all she did was smile at his timidity. He was silent once more, he couldn't help but his thinly carved lips wanted to kiss her pink bubbly lips. Slowly, they both leaned forward and suddenly he kissed her. It felt like she had waited for it because she did not act surprised at it, he felt a little comfortable. The passionate kiss grew intense, he wrapped his hands around her waist while she wrapped her arms around his neck. He slid his hands beneath her mini dress caressing her thighs, he lifted her by the hips as they drew closer to wash hand basin, he pressed her against it in a way she didn't feel hurt. He buried his face into chest while as she looked up into the ceiling bulb in pleasure, she felt ecstatic over the pleasure he was sending in.
Everything seemed normal until he began to hear voices, distant chatters of female calling out his name in whispers.
''Finn! Finn!! Finn!!!'' Was all he could hear from a distance yet echoing in his head. Lindsey was moaning his ear, he looked up to her face and there! Everything changed again, it was not Lindsey anymore, her skin was wrinkled, her hair gray was below her shoulders, and her face…he could not describe what exactly she looked like, his vision blurred while the old haggard lady in a black satin robe kissed him on the lips; her fingers and nails elongated by every touch on his face and arms, the patches of blood left a mark on his skin, the entire restroom was illuminated in red. His subconscious mind could feel the wrong but could not react, she was taking over his whole system, his whole body was numbed as tears began to run down his cheeks.
''Finn help me, please!'' Lindsey cried out from behind, she was drowning inside a pool of blood, she was suffocating. He was glued to the old woman before him, the more she caressed him he more Lindsey screamed for help from behind. The voices he was hearing earlier conjoined with that of Lindsey's, his head ached very badly as he screamed out loudly. The old woman pierced into the mirror like a stone was thrown into a river then there was total silence.
He was panting breathlessly then looked behind him, Lindsey was not on the floor but rather she was adjusting her dress as she walked over him to wash her hands, she was smiling like nothing had happened. Maybe nothing really happened, he thought to himself.
''I'm so sorry you had to wait for too long Finn…'' She wiped her hands with a towel and stopped in front of him as she kissed his lips once more.
''I had fun, let's go!'' she added then dragged lightly by the hand as they walked. How could she not say something about the earlier dreary scenery, he asked himself again. The party was still on, girls and boys dancing, drinking, playing the truth or dare games, kissing and caressing, making out on couches…everything did not make sense to him. He took a look at his wrist, it was forty minutes past eleven pm. Lindsey excused herself for minute after she sighted Jenny, they had been friends for quite some time now.
''Was that a dream or something?!'' he scoffed asking himself, he turned in the direction of television, a writing in red popped up while the background was black.
***YOU CAN'T RUN FOR TOO LONG, FINN, COME TO ME***
''What do you want from me?'' He asked in soliloquy
***YOU ARE CHOSEN, COME TO ME***
Another writing popped up and the teenagers watching laughed, he could not see anything funny about it.
He turned to leave as he bumped into Lindsey, Jenny and Jack, he yelped trying to catch his breath, he had been terrified. He turned back swiftly in the direction of the TV, the teens were only seeing a Romcom, this got him even more confused, he seemed started and distressed over something; Lindsey noticed.
"Hey Finn, did you enjoy yourself?!'' Jenny asked in a giggly manner and he forced a smile
''It's fire…fire?!'' He snapped ''Waiting for more parties,'' He teased as they laughed and jiggled.
''Sure! I'll see you all around tomorrow,'' Jenny said as she turned to Jack, they shared an affectionate kiss. Finn turned in Lindsey's direction, she too had been staring at his sideways, they both turned away quickly and smiled coyly.
Lindsey and Finn headed out of the apartment first guessing that Jack would come around in a short while. They both leaned on Jack's car looking straight.
''Are you okay?'' she asked looking at him questionably
''Oh uh…i…I'm doing just great.'' He shrugged, Lindsey was unsatisfied with his response.
''Are you sure, you were acting a little strange lately. Really weird!'' She added
''Me? Was i? Oh no, nothing's wrong I promise…'' he answered defensively
''…You tend to forget that I can tell when you lie…'' she insisted as he chirped
''Could you just let it go? It's not like you can help or something anyways!'' he blurted out rudely and shrugged.
''Great, I always knew that you were a jerk. Jack is always better than your stupid self, fuck yourself and die!'' she cussed angrily as she opened the car door and entered.
''Lindy..'' he scoffed, he didn't have to say too much, he cussed himself too. Jack ran towards their direction, it seemed like danger.. The sounds of sirens surfaced in the atmosphere, the boys entered the car instantly as Jack drove off speedily.
''Who fuckin called the cops?!'' Finn blurted. He was pissed
''How am I supposed to know, dummy!'' Jack added angrily
''Take that shit back, jerk'' Finn cussed too
''Whatever!'' Jack snapped
****
Jack pulled over at Lindsey's apartment, she opened the door to leave.
''Goodnight pony!'' Finn snapped, she raised her middle fingers to his face and walked briskly to her doorstep, they watch her close the door behind her. Jack nodded his head as he drove to Finn's doorstep, he turned to Finn whom was trying to unlock the door.
''Are you going to tell me what the hell happened between you two?'' Jack asked, Finn heaved a deep sigh, he knew that Jack would ask questions, he slowly turned to Jack.
''I saw something in the restroom, we were kinda…you know…making out and everything changed. I was kissing an old dirty hag not Lindy, I couldn't move or hit her 'cause it felt like I was withheld and then there was this pool of blood, she was screaming my name and stuff, I was so confused…I screamed and the old lady disappeared into the mirror. Everything was normal, like back to normal!'' Finn sighed as he stopped
''Did Lindy know what happened? Did she catch a glimpse somehow?'' jack asked furrowing his brows.
''No, not even a clue about it. She was just there!'' he scoffed, Jack was confused too. He rested his head on the steering and continued.
''You know what, how about we talk about this tomorrow because…its getting creepy and as you can see its midnight, I just don't think I can sleep well!'' Jack stated
''I never wanted to tell you in the first place, I knew you'd never understand.'' Finn countered in a pissed manner
''I was just thinking that you'd say something different!''
''Like what Jack?''
''like everything Jack, everything!'' Finn almost yelled
''Goodnight Finn!'' Jack was fed up with him, he was unnecessarily getting infuriated.
''Yeah right, everybody thinks that I am creepy!'' Finn opened the door to leave
''Dude come on…'' Jack tried to speak but the next he could realize was Finn slamming the car door. ''It's still my father's car!'' Jack said from behind, he drove into his driveway and walked inside his apartment. Finn heaved a deep sigh as he held the door knob, the little specters of the previous event flooded his mind. He was tired of this uncertainty, the fear and trembling day in and day out. He walked into his apartment and closed the door slowly and bolted the locks; he was concerned about his mother's sound sleep. He switched off the lights and headed to her room, she was peacefully asleep as expected, he turned off her lights making his way to his room. He hoped not to go back to his unintended routine of scare, he flopped on the bed wantonly heaving a deep sigh. He took out his phone from his jacket and texted Lindsey.
*I know you mad, I'm sorry.*
He waited for a minute and she replied back, it popped.
*You better not say that 'cause I'm F used to it, jerk!*
*C'mon, can I buy you coffee if not anything?*
He waited for her reply, she read and ignored. He waited for a minute and two and three and four and nothing still, his eyes were closing little by little as he placed his cell on his chest, he turned to the lampstands and turned it off. He gave a last try, checking if she did reply.
*I'm gonna have to think about it…don't bother texting!''
Was the only reply he had been longing for, it was not favorable to him, he cussed inside him. He flung shoes and jacket to the floor and slid under the thick black and white strapped sheets, he hoped to have a perfect rest. If there was anything he cared about in his entire was his mother, his friends were not a part of his counting at the moment because of the anger he felt towards them, they never seem to understand and when they do; it seemed like a force.
