“Wait, so he is in all of your classes?” Elizabeth asks. We’re early to school today so we’re waiting outside. Elizabeth and I are sitting under the shade of a big tree while Emily is a couple of feet away laying on the pavement, in the sun.
“Most of them, yeah. We only have two classes apart from each other. One being Social Studies with Emily at the end of the day,” I say and lean back against the tree's base. I shrug. “He seems nice.”
“Have we met him?” Emily pushes her shades back up her nose and lays back in the sun, resting her head on her backpack.
“No, I don’t think y’all have met him.” I stand up and brush the dirt off my butt. Elizabeth follows suit and eventually, Emily pries herself off the ground and fixes herself as well. Emily swings her backpack over her shoulder right as the bell rings.
“Is he cute?” Emily asks the important question.
