Margaret's ankle twists as the stage gives out under her. Before anybody realizes what happens, the kid I just used my magic on to shove, catches Margaret before she can hit the ground at a nasty angle.
“Oh my gosh,” the crowd mumbles in confusion and excitement. That clearly was not part of the pep rally.
“Thank you for catching me,” Margaret thanks the kid holding her, he’s someone she has probably never spoken to before. He sets her down and she winces a bit from her ankle.
“Margaret!” The school nurse comes rushing over. The nurse and the kid who caught Margaret, help her take a seat nearby while they check her out. We are close enough to hear their interaction.
“You’re lucky Malcolm was there to catch you, this could have been much more than a twisted ankle,” the nurse comments, and I breathe a sigh of relief. I didn’t completely save her from pain but at least she didn’t break anything. It looks like my paranoia and observation skills are paying off.
