Erin wanted to give her daughter, Charlie, a normal childhood, but Charlie isn't a normal child. Charlie and her mother are both witches. After escaping government captors, Erin gave birth on the run and spent many years moving Charlie from town to town to avoid being locked up and experimented on. When Charlie started high school, Erin made a promise they wouldn't move again until she had graduated. Now, they've made it to senior year without issue but when a new kid shows up at school, Charlie notices something strange about him. In order to uncover the truth, she begins acting out of character and going behind her mother's back to handle everything on her own. Charlie's reckless behavior opens the door for trouble to quickly find them once again. With Erin as her teacher, Charlie still has a lot to learn before she is ready to face the unknown evils that have been after them for all these years.

“Are you sure you’re okay staying here alone for the next few days?” Mom looks extremely stressed and worried but I know this is an important trip for her. As soon as I got home from the game, mom told me her work needed her to fly out for a presentation and the client was only available this weekend.


“Don’t worry about it. You’ve trained me well, mother,” I say formally and it makes her smile, even if it’s a small smile. “But seriously, it’s fine.”


“With everything that has happened lately, I’m not sure I should go,” she confesses and locks her hands together. 


“Mom, don’t worry about it. Your work needs you to go give this presentation. I’ll be fine. I have the locket you gave me, and it has already begun to work,” I say and she looks up at me worried. “Oh, sorry, nothing bad just normal school drama.” I haven’t mentioned the drama with Axel but he isn’t a threat that she needs to worry about.
