Erin wanted to give her daughter, Charlie, a normal childhood, but Charlie isn't a normal child. Charlie and her mother are both witches. After escaping government captors, Erin gave birth on the run and spent many years moving Charlie from town to town to avoid being locked up and experimented on. When Charlie started high school, Erin made a promise they wouldn't move again until she had graduated. Now, they've made it to senior year without issue but when a new kid shows up at school, Charlie notices something strange about him. In order to uncover the truth, she begins acting out of character and going behind her mother's back to handle everything on her own. Charlie's reckless behavior opens the door for trouble to quickly find them once again. With Erin as her teacher, Charlie still has a lot to learn before she is ready to face the unknown evils that have been after them for all these years.

I wait outside, not patiently but I remain quiet. When Mom goes inside there is a flash of green light and I can hear her crying out. I want to go to her but she told me to stay. I hear her whimpering loudly before it slows down and she stops altogether. I can’t tell if there is a gag on her or if she passed out, or something worse. 


A few minutes pass and I still can’t hear anything, I start to get worried. I creep closer to the office to see if I can overhear anything. 


When I move closer, I hear Max’s voice.


“Stop, you’re going to kill her,” He doesn’t sound too worried but he does sound urgent. What side is he playing? I still don’t know if I can trust him. I can’t leave Mom all alone in there. I get up to make my way inside, without thinking first.
