“You look well this morning, dear,” Grandmother’s voice causes me to turn around quickly. I almost stumble over my costume which is in a pile on the floor. I hear Grandmother chuckle and I scowl in response.
I’ve been up for a couple of hours, well, I really couldn’t sleep that well. I, maybe, got 3 or 4 hours of sleep. But that is not including the hour or so of sleep I got before Max interrupted me.
I rub my eyes trying to keep myself awake now. I need to be awake and focused on whatever this is. I steady myself and brace for her next words.
“You look a lot like your mother, except for that hair,” Grandmother says as she is led into the room. A guard gives her a chair to sit on and it is placed in front of the bed I once occupied. Grandmother gestures for me to take a seat, and I decided to oblige. There isn’t much else I can do, and if I play along maybe this will go by quicker. “That hair, wow, it looks just like Marcus. I assume your mother told you about him, didn’t she?”
