COHEN
The day after I found out Ellie almost fell, I was still in a bad mood.
I couldn’t even say why. The baby was fine. Ellie was fine. But I was still bothered. Dr. Val should have known. She should have started the transfusions from day one.
Everything in me wanted to fire her a*s, but she was the only doctor in my clan.
After fuming for a few good hours, I went downstairs to check in the kitchen for Ellie. Maybe I could get some more batter.
When I entered, I ignored the way my heart leapt in my chest at the sight of Ellie humming and dancing and mixing together two different bowls of ingredients.
“What are you making?” I asked.
Ellie whipped around and stared at me with wide eyes. She shook her head with a chuckle. “You scared me. It’s a batch of blood chocolate chip cookies. The human version is already in the oven. “ She smirked. “Do you want a spoon?”
“Yes,” I said, and stepped up to her side.
Ellie retrieved a spoon and dipped it into her batter.
