MC POV -
Waking up to the sun in your face isn't the best if you're not a morning person like me, but I got up anyway to start the day and maybe get better control of my magic and head into town later. I got up from the tree branch I was sleeping on, which honestly was kinda comfortable, surprisingly. Once I was up, I flew down to the ground to stretch and get ready for some practice and maybe getting to know the forest better.
First, I should start with listing all the powers I know for sure I have right now and practice after. "I know for sure I have transfiguration because of my clothes and money from yesterday. I should technically have all the powers of Maleficient, but I would need to practice on people for some of them, like sleep inducement or telepathy. That can wait for now, I guess, but I should start on transfiguration first since it seems the most useful to me right now." I said to myself.
Deciding that I was gonna start with transfiguration, I walked over to some sticks and leaves that were about the size of my hand and just started transforming them into anything I could think of, ranging from simple to complex forms to get a better understanding of my new power. The easiest forms were simple shapes like spheres and cubes I made out of the sticks I picked up. The harder forms consisted of little figurines and designs that I made on the leaves and sticks. It required more concentration to do this, and I barely scratched the surface of my powers.
It wasn't that difficult after I got the hang of it since there wasn't anything distracting me out here except for the occasional bird sound here and there. "I should probably move on to another power like elemental control. What if I can make my own tree army like Maleficient!!! Wait, calm down me, you know, you won't be able to hide them if someone finds you out here." I said before I could get ahead of myself. 'Maybe I should just practice flying for now since I know I'm not the best at it.' Thinking that I got ready to take off, but before I could, I heard people talking a few miles away from my location.
I panicked, knowing that the only people who would ever come this far out in the forest would be the vampires or the wolves. 'I can't be found out already!! Maybe I can make it into the air before they can get any closer. No, I would be too loud. The only reason they haven't heard me yet is because I'm not moving a lot. Okay, calm down. You don't want them to hear your heartbeat. Just move slowly towards that huge tree, hide, and hope they don't see or hear you.' I thought not wanting to be found out by either of the supernatural groups in this small town since I haven't thought of how I should introduce myself to them without causing suspicion.
Right after I hid myself behind the tree, I could hear them coming closer until I could identify them. It turns out I was right about my assumption because it was Emmett and Jasper.
Emmett - I'm telling you, man, you need to see this new game that came out. The graphics are out of this world, dude.
Jasper - Emmett, that seems really interesting, but if you keep talking, you're going to scare away the animals. We need to eat.
Emmett - Oh please, you know they only sent us out to get some food because they wanted alone time.
Jasper - Yeah, but we might as well get something if we're going to be out here for a while, and do you really want to lose to Rosalie and Alice.
Emmett - What do you mean? We didn't even agree to the bet.
Jasper - Still, if we get something bigger or more, then we can just say we did, and then we'll win.
Emmett - You know, I like the way you think, fine, I'll help.
Jasper - Great, now if you would please stop talking, we might be able to win this.
Realizing that they were really close to the spot where all my shapes and figurines were at, I thought of the only way I could stay hidden and distract them. 'I have to use my powers to distract them and think there's an animal over there somewhere. I only got 1 shot at this, so don't mess it up.' I thought. I peeked out from my hiding spot, looking for a place on the other side of the small clearing they were standing in. I saw a couple of branches hanging off a tree a few feet away that was out of their sight, so they would think it might be an animal, hopefully anyway.
I focused on the branch farthest from me and moved my hand downward, I could see the branch straining against my magic a little, but after I applied a little more force, the branch fell down immediately with a loud thud. Emmett and Jasper looked in that direction right away and then looked back at each other.
Emmett - What the hell was that?!?!
Jasper - What else? It was probably an animal running away.
Emmett - That wasn't the sound of an animal running away. It sounded like thunder just now.
Jasper - You're just overreacting right now. Look, I'll check it out first, and then you can follow me after.
Emmett - Fine, just hurry up so we can start hunting.
Jasper - Whatever, Emmett.
As I saw Jasper heading over to where I made the branch fall, I carefully moved from my cover, watching both of them, making sure they didn't know I was here. I moved over to my creations and made them to what they were before, trying to leave no traces of myself here. As I was crouching, it was hard for me to move through the bushes without making any noise since my wings were too big to move fast and silent on the ground.
Honestly, it was inevitable for me to make a mistake. As I was moving through the bushes, I accidentally stepped on a twig, and it snapped. 'Shit,' I thought. I looked towards Emmett and Jasper, and they were both looking in my direction. "Shit," I said aloud this time cause there was no point in keeping it to myself now.
