TALK

CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

When Adrianna next opened her eyes, the first thing she saw is the classy brick stone fireplace and the stylish mantel. Then the tasteful landscape painting that was suspended on top of the fireplace.

The landscape painting is a burst of artful colors showing the rendezvous between the sun and the moon on a snow-covered mountaintop.

This landscape painting reminds her of something. The memory is hovering in her mind. But she can't grasp it.

Adrianna's forehead creased in concentration as she closely examined the painting. But the memory still remained elusive.

With no other choice, she let out a sigh of regret and shrugged her shoulders in defeat.

Why is it when you try so hard to recall something, its a struggle to remember it? But when you put it at the back of your mind, the fog would suddenly clear up and you would remember things at a most unexpected time.

The brain is really a masterpiece! A mystery of its own.

"Are we in the Quarters?"

"Yes. Saint Ann Street."

Adrianna looked around the room and was instantly inlove!

The design of the room is extremely exquisite. From the elaborate paneled walls to the fancy chandeliers, to the caramel carpets, the long chaise lounge, everything! Everything is sophisticated yet refined.

And the room is clearly made with comfort in mind.

Adrianna glanced at Damien.

This room says much on Damien's elegant tastes and on how he enjoyed the luxuries in life.

"You can teleport and talk to me in my head."

"uhm."

Damien sat down and pulled Adrianna to him and placed her on his lap. Then he hugged her tight as he buried his head on her chest.

It should have looked vulgar, but somehow this picture spoke of...innocence.

With him perfectly snuggled on her chest, Damien looks like how a bullied child would ask for comfort from his mother!

Adrianna smiled as she wrapped her arms around Damien's head and kissed the top of his head.

"You look like my child."

"I'd rather be your man, thank you."

Damien raised his head, looked at Adrianna then looked down at her chest.

"But I can be a willing baby if you provide nourishment to me."

Adrianna's face turned crimson!

Damien softly laughed as he cozily laid his head back on her chest.

So comfortable. Damien can't help but close his eyes ---lost in the comforting softness of her generous bosom.

Adrianna gives him a feeling of comfort, warmth and relaxation. Feelings he knew but forgotten. And now Adrianna is bringing colors back to his cold, dull world.

"You mentioned you first talked to me when I was a child." Adrianna drilled her eyes on the landscape painting. Again.

The painting is hauntingly familiar. She has a nagging feeling she really has witnessed this scene before.

Where could she have seen such a beautiful painting?

"I was underground when you reached out to me."

Adrianna frowned.

"Why are you fascinated with staying underground? Are you hunting treasures? Digging graves?"

Damien laughed. His mate has a wild imagination!

So cute and endearing. Damien muffled his laughter on Adrianna's bosom.

Adrianna stroked Damien's head as she felt his laughter vibrating on her chest. Electrifying her.

"I was in deep slumber."

"Deep sleep?"

"Yes, for a deep, long sleep."

"Why did I wake you?" Adrianna was interested in this telepathic back and forth exchange of messages. Much more convenient than cellphones. Cost effective too!

"The two instances you woke me, its because of your soul deep fear and pain."

"Why did you just come to me now?" Adrianna can't help but feel aggrieved.

Then her blood ran cold.

In her past life, even if Damien showed up early, she would most probably disdain his closeness to her. She loathed to even stay a millisecond with him. Breathing the same air as him is making her insides shudder with revulsion!

But in this life, its the exact opposite.

Instead of intense dislike and disgust, she feels extreme attraction and attachment to him.

What changed?

Adrianna was so absorbed with her thoughts that she suddenly jerked back when she felt a warm breath on her neck!

Damien is now kissing her throat.

Adrianna shivered as she held tight on Damien's hair. The kiss is igniting an oh so good feeling in her belly.

"Baby, I cannot connect to you. You have turned human."

"Huh? Am I half vampire, half human?" Adrianna's voice hitched at her latter word.

"You are a True Blood." Damien murmured as he rained kissed around her throat.

Adrianna arched back her neck giving Damien more access to her skin.

"What's that?" She asked in a breathy whisper.

"A Pureblood."

"Then why..."

Damien held back Adrianna's head and stared at her half lidded eyes. Then he slowly moved his head closer to Adrianna's face.

Seeing Damien about to kiss her, Adrianna's toes curled as she slightly opened her lips. Preparing for Damien's landing.

"Your were given a spell potion that changed your physiological aspect. Your vampiric essence is suppressed and buried."

Damien's eyes burned with fire as he saw his mate waiting for his plunder. He swallowed hard to moisten his throat.

"I was waiting for you to build the bridge between us. Baby, your almost awakening."

"Hmm..?" Adrianna moaned with a soft lilting voice.

Damien groaned. Her voice is like a sensual caress to his body.

"When you took the potion, it halted your vampiric faculties and maintained your human development."

Damien traced Adrianna's lips with his tongue. Swiping it slowly.

Adrianna moaned and pulled Damien's head closer to her face.

"Now, its a reverse. Your vampiric side is catching up. Your turning into a vampire." Damien whispered against Adrianna's lips.

As Adrianna gasp, Damien's tongue swooped down and plunged inside her mouth.
