The Cult

MF narrates

The cult essentially professed to its followers to cause grotesquely ludicrous suffering and grief to others for one to reach a higher level of purity, clarity, power, wealth, creativity, inner-peace and immortality; the more intense the pain, the closer one is to reach their ultimate potential and goal.

Similar to Apriltown, the Miguels had a circle of friends who were also part of their malfaisance, dedicated to the infliction of pain and dread culture. Those cult friends facilitated the cover and were members of high society, and government. They were also given each a coveted blanket ticket to partake in the "birthday party festivities". They benefited greatly as they were doing their cult's duty in the grander scheme of all things supremely unholy.

The cult "13" knew what April had done to her parents those many years ago. They were both expertly intrigued and unsettled by her light. She was the only one from so many who have managed to break free. They had been surveilling April unbeknownst to her, truly since she was a baby. Every life experience neatly filed.
