Taco date

'Sigh, how am I even supposed to eat this?' Ayana thought to herself as she looked around the mess on her side of the table.

She glanced at the man, who apparently was as much struggling as her. Because of that incident, the man offered his taco instead of her buying a new one. Ayana wanted to ask him for the answer to the question she asked earlier, but couldn't bring herself to it as the man seemed way too clumsy to her.

Although they didn't talked much, their light conversation was enough to keep both of them preoccupied. However, the more she heard him say, the more her fuzzy memories began to become clearer. His voice, his hand gestures, his appearance, it all started to get links connected from her previous night.

Certainly, she felt the urge to ask if his name was Eric right away, but it would probably ruin the leisure time they were having together.

"So, do you live here?"Once again, she couldn't hold her curiosity inside.

"Ah no. I actually live pretty far away from here. I came here to check up on my... friend you see. But it appears she's alright now, so I am quite relieved." He sincerely answered.

Ayana wondered if the friend he was talking about was her? But she holded her horses in place and chuckled as she said "Oh! That's good! By any chance, is she your girlfriend?"

To which the man choked again and Ayana laughed as he struggled to chug water immediately.

"What?! No! I- " the man finally managed to speak again and tried to explain but Ayana cut in right away and controlled her laughter as she said.

"Relax! I was just kidding haha! Look at you, You're face is all red! Do you perhaps have a crush on her?" She just wouldn't stop herself from teasing this young innocent man.

"N..No! I just caught slight fever last night." He stuttered as he speak.

"Then why did you come here? You could've seen her later when you got fully recovered." She said feeling little guilty now.

"It's because... I just felt like it."

The earnestness in his answer left Ayana completely speechless. She felt happy for whoever that person was to recieve such a caring friend.

The breeze began to feel much colder all of a sudden on her skin. His messy hair looked like they were fluttering in the air. His round glasses suddenly looked cute on his aesthetic outfit. And his sharp gaze looked mesmerizing enough to make her heart skip a couple of beats. Her face was all blushed she realised late.

She had been playing with him all this time, but after hearing him say that, it really touched her heart. But why?

Meanwhile, the man was a bit confused as why she had stopped talking all of a sudden. Her earlobes and cheeks looked red-ish than before.

'Is it because of the colour of the sky? She looks like a ripened tomato.' he commented within.

The pause remained awkward until they managed to finish their tacos. It had already gotten eight now, and the sky was dark. It was time to say goodbye.

"It was nice spending time with you." She said as they stood idly on pathway.

"Yeah me too." He said while glancing at the place for one last time. He had a gentle smile as he truly enjoyed this evening, despite choking several times.

"By the way, you didn't answered me how is your friend like?" She said carefully, just to reassure her heart if he was the same guy.

"Why do you wanna know?" But he looked at her with slight hesitation.

"Just because." she laughed it off, assuming he was just a shy type of a person.

The man ultimately let his guard down upon seeing her innocent smile, and said.

"Well, she's got quite a temper, as long as I've known her so far. She's wild and way too much careless for an adult. She loves to create mess wherever she goes and yells almost everytime. She's an expert when it comes to misunderstanding. Infact, 'clumsy' would be an understatement to describe her personality"

Ayana was shocked to hear him say all those right in front of her, but didn't said anything since honestly, whatever he said was all true. Her suspicions were atlast proved true which rather hurt her heart to accept all those bad qualities coming from a sweet mouth like his.

"But you see, I still like her personality. She's free minded and can easily socialise with any stranger she met just a few seconds ago. To be honest, I envy her, but I know she'll never accept it since that's just how she is." He continued with a small giggle.

Once again, Ayana was left perplexed over his words. The sudden shift in words left her amazed to see him knowing this side of hers too. She felt quite proud yet embarrassed.

"Why won't she?" She said abruptly out of curiosity to know more about what he thinks of her.

"Excuse me?" To which he immediately looked at her bewildered.

"Why wouldn't she accept that you envy her? If she's as good in socialising as you say, that means she understands how people's mind work, right? If you ask her, maybe she'll even help you too." She said with a cheerful smile full of pride.

The conversation they were in, had turned way more entertaining than anybody would've thought. They both knew who this 'friend' was, yet nobody disclosed it in order to know more about that 'friend'.

"That's what you think?" A quick smirk flashed upon his face as he observed Ayana saying all those stuffs herself despite not knowing who he was actually talking about, or so he assumed.

Astoundingly, his heart was at much relief than it was earlier. He was enjoying the moment with her.

"Ofcourse! All you need is courage to step up, and rest will go with the flow." She said mirthfully as if another game has started for her.

They shared a couple of laughter when suddenly a small notification ringed Eric's phone. He excused himself for a minute, and noticed it was a message from his driver, who was asking for him to return as soon as possible.

He frowned and clicked his tongue from frustration and returned to Ayana, who looked quite confused upon seeing his expression.

"I am sorry, but it seems I shall go now."

"Oh! Okay. Bye then!" She waved her hands with a gleeful smile.

"Yeah, Bye." He too gently smiled upon seeing her angular yet cute face and waited for her to leave first.

Ayana walked a few steps but suddenly stopped as she turned around and yelled at a distance

"My room wasn't that messy! Geez, I bet your stinks more than mine!" She said and ran away with a mischievous laugh.

"Wait! What?!" Eric was left stupified and remained there like a statue for a while to repeat those words again in his mind.

'So she knew it was me all along?!' he soon realised.

"Pfft! You never cease to amaze me Ms. Shekhar. I hope I get to meet you soon, I can't wait to see your expression when you'll know about my true self." He muttered and left the place with a mysterious smirk.
