Not interested.

"Meet my friend, Ayana."

"Hi!"

"Hello."

Ayana reluctantly greeted the men in front of her while Betty gestured her to shift to the corner and sat besides her. The two man also followed by sitting in front of them.

'Wait a minute. Why does it feel like a date?' Ayana narrowed her eyes as she looked at Betty from suspicion.

Betty could already feel Ayana drilling hole at her skull but still nervously reintroduced themselves to the man in front. It was to be expected since she tricked her to attend a matchmaking event afterall.

Betty hoped that Ayana would soon get comfortable with the space and would enjoy for the moment, but to her disconcert, Ayana wouldn't even talk casually to them, as if she was clearly uninterested in them.

'Did I really upsetted her that much?!' Betty worried as she observed the drastic fall in their conversation.

"So, umm, do you have any hobbies?" The man in front of Ayana tried to small talk but it was now futile to resist the fall of this conversation. Ayana was dead set on leaving this place at once.

"No." She said with a cold face.

"Haha! I see. To be honest, even I don't have a specific hobby. Oh but Michael have one! He's really good at playing guitar!" He said to remove awkwardness.

"Oh wow! Really?! I love guitar!" Betty faked excitement to keep up the conversation and looked towards the blond guy in her front.

They both were dressed properly for this date, and even had a perfume on to impress them. Betty was happy to see them being so prepared as they really put effort into this unlike Ayana, who was wearing her college day's hoodie and sneakers.

"I am not really that good, but I can play a few popular songs."

"Mhm. I usually like to play RPG games. Oh right! Ayana's really good at it too! Right Ayana?" Betty exclaimed.

"Huh? Uh yes. Although my eyes hurt a lot after playing them."

A mysterious chilled wind passed by out of nowhere. The dead end bombardment was now tickling Betty to burst into rage. Why can't she co-operate atleast once?! It was so hard to arrange this date online. Her frustration was legit but so was Ayana's. The only victims who were being pressed between these two poles were two innocent boys.

The only thing they could do was nervously smile and get over with this.

"I know right?! Even Sam complains the same everytime he goes to hangout with his friends. It seems we have a lot in common" Michael brightly smiled to lit the atmosphere, but unfortunately it still couldn't reach Ayana's side.

"Oh! You must be referring to Jake. Damn! He's so good at playing games. I am pretty sure even now he must be playing with someone else."

Without even realising, their discussion escalated so quickly around games and their friend who happened to have same name as Ayana's ex, that Betty continuously tried to move onto another topic.

"Hey! Do you guys have any person you idolize? You know like a movie star or a music idol?" Betty said suppressing her nervous breath.

"Oh! I do! There's a famous footballer called Jamie Anderson. Have you ever heard of him?"

"You mean the one who won 2016 interleague championship? Who doesn't know him?!"

Betty glanced at Ayana first from the corner of her eyes. She was now a stone statue whose face was turned at the window. Then she looked back at the boys who were laughing at their own jokes like dumbwits. 'Anderson is her ex's last name you idiots!' she cussed internally.

'Me and my f**king bad luck...' Betty hissed under her breath and grabbed her forehead as how possibly could a date go this wrong?! She shut close her eyes and resented her foolish idea to aid Ayana in moving on. But how would've she known that her God of luck wouldn't allow it.

Suddenly, a quick tap hit on her shoulders. Betty raised her head and noticed that everyone was looking at her. While the boys had a little frowned face, Ayana seemed worried about something.

"Can you please excuse us for a bit? we'll be back in a second." Ayana said while standing up on her seat and gestured Betty to leave too.

Betty did as she said, and they headed towards the ladies washroom. Betty had given up and knew what she was gonna face next.

"Betty, there's something really important I want to tell you."

"I know what you're trying to say. But please, can't you atleast give them a chance? They aren't even that bad. I know you're angry at me but still, don't you think it's time to move on over that jerk?" Betty had a deep frown on her forehead as she expressed.

"What?! No! You've got it all wrong! I wanted to say that we need to leave this place immediately!"

"But why?! Yes, there were some instances when they called out that jerk's name. But Ayana, they didn't meant to hurt you. It's not their fault that their good-for-nothing friend' name's also Jake."

"Okay, I admit that it might be one of the reasons why I wanna leave, but it isn't a real issue!"

"Then what is?!"

They both looked at each other upon realising how loud they were talking till now. Seeing both of them frustrated at each other, Ayana finally decided to reveal the secret she had been avoiding so far. She was exhausted...

"Sigh, fine. The thing is there's a man in this party whom I wanted to avoid at all cost. But unfortunately, while I was looking at the crowd passing by, I discovered the same man with his group."

"And?.." She asked, patiently waiting to finish her story as it seemed quite a serious matter.

"Our eyes met."

"What?!"

"I knew I was staring at him for a long time, but how could he possibly look straight into my eyes in a one go?! It's so creepy!"

"...Well, what did you expected then? It was obvious he would be looking around in the crowd and just happened to see you staring him as well. Keeping that aside, is he dangerous?"

"No, infact he's as harmless as a bunny."

"Well, ain't that an interesting metaphor. But tell me, if it's like that, then why are you avoiding him?"

"..."

"Don't worry. BFFs never hide their secrets from one another, remember? You were the first one to tell me this."

"..okay, but promise me you won't freak out." Ayana said as she fidgeted her index fingers.

Betty was slightly astonished upon seeing her reactions. It almost looked as if she was blushing cause of something.

"I promise I won't."

Ayana at first peeked at Betty's serious face. Seeing her being genuine, she finally decided to speak with a pause.

"I kissed that man, probably."
