Finally alone.

Ayana was stuck in a dilemma to whether protect her boss from this suspicious driver or go and check out her friend. There was no way that she could abandon any of them, she had to find a way to save both of them, but how?!

The brows were deeply frowned as she sat right next to Eric along with the driver besides her. Although the driver could tell there was something wrong that came up with that conversation, he didn't dared to speak anything as things were going in his favour. If anything else, he wanted to support her to go and sort out whatever matter she had in her hands, but at the same time, he wasn't in the mood to convince her as the process was too tiring for him.

Ayana's restlessness increased gradually as she constantly monitored the track of time on her phone, but no matter how many times she awaited, Betty didn't called. Thanks to the whistling wind knocking on the glass window, her anxiety reached to a whole new level and she finally ended up bursting out her frustration.

She instantaneously jumped off her seat and exited the room while slamming the door behind. Her nose were flaring from anger and the sound of her sneakers irritatingly echoed in the corridor.

But as she was stomping hastily from anger, an anonymous bright light suddenly struck her mind, making her retrace the path backwards with glee. As she subconsciously slammed open the door once again, the driver was taken aback upon witnessing this level of fiery and confidence burning in her eyes.

He couldn't do anything but watch her march towards him in awe and silence. There was this strange confidence build up in her attitude. And the way her lips were curled with nose held high clearly showed her pride.

Her steps were finally put to a halt as she approached the driver and rested her hand on hips with a finger pointed out at him.

"You, you said you are his driver, right?" She said softly while slightly bending to hear the confirmation from him, to which the driver obviously agreed with perplexed expressions.

"Then, call on his number right now and prove your innocence." She boldly requested with that sharp grin still maintained on her face.

But as those words escaped out of her mouth, the driver's state of perplexity complicated further more. Thanks to the mask and sunglasses covering his face, Ayana couldn't see a single wrinkle of expression on his face.

'Is that it? Does she not know kidnappers can also have their target's number? What a fool, but oh well, it's better for me anyway.' He muttered behind the back of his mind as he took out his phone from pocket in silence and dialed in front of Ayana to confirm.

Much to Ayana's relief, the vibrating sound kept at Eric's bedside desk proved that the driver was innocent and she could now finally go and check out on her friend.

But before going, she made sure to save her boss's as well as the driver's number and returned on her road journey towards Betty's house. The strain was finally released off her face.

-------------

Back at the hospital, now only Eric and his so called driver were left.

"Jesus, I can't believe this type of woman be your preference...

Master."

He whispered while taking off that bothersome mask and sunglasses.

With a deep sigh, he leaned closer towards his master to take a glance.

"Seems like he is not faking it." He sat back with a sigh of relief again and eased the tension on his shoulders by loosening his stiff posture.

He shifts his gaze once again at the private room he booked and observes the pitch black sky outside. It was already evening before he even realised.

-----------------

"Is she f**king with me?!"

Things had already been worse since this morning, and now another pile of problems had been smacked on her face.

If not for the laziness to write a journal, Ayana would've made sure to star mark today's date as the unluckiest day, thirteenth of December.

Thing's would've been simple if only her friend was present where she was supposed to be, her house!

"But guess what? God has a personal grudge against me since I was born. I'm special, I know." She said sarcastically to herself as she pressed the peddle hard and jolted at her seat from momentum.

After she left for Betty's home, she got to know from Betty's little sister that Betty was actually at her house instead. Ayana managed to keep the friendly face in front of her friend's sister, but they both knew how bad our protagonist was at acting.

Ayana hold her key in advance while waiting in the elevator to not waste any moment outside in corridor. All she wants the most right now is to step into her warm cozy home, as soon as possible.
