Class B

Chatter ran through the room as Avic stared out the window of his second-floor classroom. Eliisabet, who was two seats away to his right, watched him in silence. It was their second day at the School Of Sicarius. They had now been assigned to their respective classes.

Eliisabet and Avic had been assigned to Class B, the worst of the two classes. Custos, on the other hand, had been assigned to Class A, the best class the school had to offer. This had split their group temporarily and in more ways than one.

Despite currently living in the same apartment, Eliisabet and Avic hadn't exchanged a single word since the incident involving the strange man. They hadn't even arrived at school together which had made Custos a little skeptical. In truth, Eliisabet felt a little guilty due to how she dealt with the situation. She felt that Avic at least deserved an explanation. However, she knew she couldn't tell him the truth. This left her in a dilemma, not knowing how to approach him.

Just then, a man entered the classroom, immediately commanding the presence of all the students. To Eliisabet's surprise, it was the same instructor who had graded their Hemo Control test.

"Everyone, quiet down!" He immediately instructed. "This isn't high school or some dumb learning center for kids! Sure there might still be a few kids inside this room but most of you are in adulthood! Your actions should reflect not only your age but also your honor as Kingdom Of Regnum's upcoming Sicarius! You're not just students! You're soldiers, so act like it!"

Everyone immediately quieted down.

"Just in case you've forgotten, you may all call me Instructor Hudson. Yesterday, we didn't do much but today will be different. I wouldn't be too comfortable if I were you because this is a School Of Sicarius which means you should always be prepared for the unexpected! If you believe that you'll be sitting in a classroom all day then you're sadly mistaken!"

"I'm glad to hear that, Teach. I didn't come here to sit around a desk all day taking notes like a kid. Hurry and tell us what we need to do," demanded a student from the front of the class. He had straight pale-blonde hair and shocking-red eyes. He was also tall and quite muscular but not as big as Bolton or Gatio in terms of muscle mass.

"And you are?" Questioned the instructor.

"The name's Zane."

"Heh— You don't need to worry. None of you will be using this classroom. As a matter of fact, let's get down to business."

Instructor Hudson then paused as he looked around at everyone in the room. He then laid eyes on Avic who was staring at him with his usual nonchalant expression. A smile immediately climbed onto his lips.

"I'm sure you all noticed that getting accepted into the school was not very difficult. Normally, we'd host an entrance exam and eliminate those who aren't qualified. However, this year, we've decided to do things differently. We received approximately 1000 applications. However, only half of those applications were accepted. The 500+ who were accepted were further divided into two classes, Class A and Class B. So out of that 250 students in this class, only 150 will proceed to the next round!!"

Just then, the building began shaking like an earthquake. Everyone immediately began to panic. The building rocked from side to side. The walls were split in two and the floor was webbed with cracks like a spider's nest. In the blink of an eye, the floor caved in, swallowing everyone.

Chairs, desks, concrete, and human beings were sent falling into a deep dark abyss below.

"What the hell's going on?!" Cursed Avic, flailing his arms wildly.

As Avic fell, he swung his head around. This was when he noticed the strange phenomenon of the other students suddenly disappearing into thin air. He didn't know what was happening but he had to stay on guard if he wished to survive.

For a moment, Eliisabet ran across his mind. He quickly looked around among the other falling students but she was nowhere to be found. Due to this, Avic knew he had to focus on himself. He could worry about her after he had figured out how to survive.

Suddenly, blue Hemo Energy wrapped itself around his body. Avic flinched from the strange sensation that followed. In the blink of an eye, he was teleported into a large circular room made of sandstone. Small torches lined the walls around him and a door big enough to fit over three dozen elephants stood before him.

"Where the hell am I..?" He muttered to himself.

"It seems like some kind of test," answered a familiar voice.

Avic then looked up to see the same guy who was speaking to Instructor Hudson before the building had collapsed. It was Zane. By his side was another male figure who was almost just as tall with dark chocolate brown hair and hard hazy eyes.

"A test?" Queried Avic.

"It's obvious, isn't it? Why else would they do this? Besides, Hudson also mentioned that only 150 of us would make it to the next round. So not only is this a test but it's also a competition against our classmates."

Just then, another blue light appeared behind them. They quickly looked around to see a girl with long silky black hair and soft blue eyes. She looked around her early twenties and had quite a splendid figure.

As soon as she appeared, the massive door in front of them opened up, leading to a long hallway. The hallway stretched as far as the eye could see with seemingly no end in sight.

"Ouch..." Groaned the girl as she tried to pick herself up.

"Hey, are you okay?" Asked Avic.

"I'm fine... That was just a little unexpected is all."

Avic then gave her a helping hand, dragging her to her feet.

"So what are we supposed to do here anyway? We weren't given much to go on."

"I believe the answer lies down this passageway. It opened up as soon as that girl was teleported in here," answered Zane.

"Then we should hurry and move out then. We don't want to be left behind if the other students somehow figured out what needs to be done already."

To Avic's surprise, Zane didn't answer. Instead, he turned toward him with a slight frown on his face.

"Don't get so buddy-buddy with me, idiot. Didn't you hear what I said? This is a competition between us students. There is no WE. For all, I know, you could be my enemy!"
