CHAPTER 18

Brian placed his bag on the table, then took out the agreement he had signed with Lucia into a special safe that only he knew. When he arrived, all eyes looked at him silently, perhaps surprised because before that he rarely came to the company left by his parents.

Having a bad image, everyone is reluctant to be led by him who feels incompetent, especially since he has always depended on his uncle—William. Because he was too engrossed in living his life, he forgot that there was something that should be his obligation to maintain and develop the company.

Brian was too comfortable in his previous life, leaving everything related to the company to his uncle, while he was engrossed in pleasing Rose. Until finally, all his wealth was exhausted when his uncle said their company went bankrupt, and he had to work hard to live.

She didn't want to speculate on his own uncle. Moreover, in his previous life she felt that the man had helped him a lot. However, he felt that something was a little odd because, in his previous life, William went abroad after announcing the bankruptcy of the company and handed the post back to him.

How can he still live comfortably abroad when the company is indeed bankrupt? He thought.

Brian wanted to find out who was friend and foe. Everything was still vague in his eyes, so he decided to observe first until he finally felt confident and could decide his next move.

He had just sat down in his work chair when the door suddenly opened. The man with a tall body and brown eyes immediately approached him and sat right in front of him. "Why didn't you contact me first?"

Brian didn't know why his uncle was so panicked, even though it wasn't wrong to come to his own company.

"Do I have to ask you permission to even visit my own company?"

William shook his head slowly. "It's not like that, but Uncle—ah… never mind. So, what's the matter, Bri?"

Brian took a deep breath. "I'm going back to the company to work."

Hearing that, William was speechless, it was so sudden that he had not prepared himself. "Why so suddenly?"

"Is that a problem? Didn't uncle say that I have the right to work at the company whenever I want?"

The man froze, he couldn't deny his own words. But, right now, he still had a lot of things to take care of, a sudden request from Brian could ruin his plans—he thought.

"It's not like that, Bri… it's just that it means it's safe to have a board of directors meeting to discuss it. Uncle, hope you can be patient—"

"Tomorrow. I want to start working at the company tomorrow," he interrupted.

William smiled bitterly, he couldn't do anything else but obey Brian's request even though he didn't want to. "Okay." He got up from the chair, then adjusted his slightly messy suit. "Then uncle will immediately prepare everything for the board of directors meeting tomorrow."

  "Yes."

He walked away, leaving Brian in his room. William immediately went to his room, which was a bit far from Brian's room, where several of his subordinates were waiting anxiously.

  "How is it sir?"

"That bastard wants to get into the company starting tomorrow."

The news is certainly unsettling for those who have been stealing company money from William. They are worried that the action will be exposed and it will all be over.

  "Then how is it sir?"

"Tomorrow, please try our best to persuade him to only occupy the second position, at least I can still keep an eye on him if he is 1 stage above him."

"Yes sir. Then, we will prepare ourselves for tomorrow."

  "Yes."

They left, leaving an annoyed William. His cell phone rang loudly, William immediately fished it out of his shirt pocket. When he saw the name of the caller, he smiled faintly. He hopes, the Ria gives good news.

"Hello, what?! Brian came to the Galloway residence? What for? Find out right away!"

He snorted in annoyance, Brian was acting out of his control at this point. "Why did he meet Lucia?" he muttered.
