Decent girlfriend

Brendon walked through the corridors of the hospital with a furious facial expression. He marched with heavy footsteps almost as if his stomping was useful to release all the anger he felt in his body.

He opened the door of a doctor's office, and he stormed inside the room impetuously, as if he owned the place.

"Doctor, can people heal from memory loss following a car accident causing a traumatic brain injury?"

The doctor was taken aback, he frowned confused, shaking his head in disapproval of that man's disrespectful entrance. Not even a knock, what if he had a patient inside?

The confusion and puzzlement disappeared when he mentally linked the face to a name. He was the man who took care of the patient he was assigned to.

He sighed, almost forgiving him for his sudden break-in.

"They can heal but with a long process and it may require a demanding work difficult work." Brendon shook his head, "but…"

"Is Claire remembering?"

Brendon sat on the chair, once again without being invited to, he gestured with his hand as he answered. "She had met this man before the accident, now she doesn't remember him but I can see somehow her body does. Her personality when with him is different, she naturally bonds with him more than she usually does with strangers."

"This is very positive, Brendon. It means she had experienced a truthful meaning connection. Maybe she will start to remember if she digs in memories…"

"Oh no…" Brendon whispered, he had a vision of his hard work collapsing in a matter of an eyeblink.

He couldn't allow that.

"What if she stops seeing the person?" He asked.

Dragging her away from his brother would also mean losing such an important work opportunity for him.

Was it worth it? Maybe he could keep tabs on her before taking such a drastic turn?

"If she stops seeing that person before she fully restored her memories then she might interrupt the process before it's too late." The doctor explained, he checked the clock on his right wrist and then glanced to the door.

"I have an appointment. I understand your worry and your positive purposes but next time make sure to book an appointment or at least knock."

Brendon nodded, "thank you."

He walked out of the room and carried the door closed.

He leaned on the wall as he faced the white ceilings.

Cobwebs falling from the lights, his mind wandered to the potential danger of losing Claire to his brother.

He wouldn't accept that.

Not after that, he did everything in his power to take her from him.

What did he have in mind when he decided to take her with him to his new job? He shall have considered that chance.

But little did he expect her to love him that much. He turned around, he faced the wall now and knitted his eyebrows together in a frown.

"Fuck." He whispered as he punched the wall and released the repressed anger.

"Fuck!" He said it louder this time.

"Fuck!!" He screamed out a third time, enough to catch the attention of the people waiting quietly on the chairs.

"Why can't you love me like that? Why him and not me?" He screamed out loud, mad at Claire for feeling for another man the same affection he felt for her.

He wondered how couldn't she see what he was doing for her. How couldn't she have the decency to at least put effort to work on their relationship?

He loved her deeply but whenever he saw how Claire looked at his brother, love faded, pure envious, and hate replaced it.

Was there something left he could do to steal her love in such a situation already drastic enough? He sighed, maybe not. He even wondered what was the point in fighting if she unconsciously was still in love with his brother.

That feeling soon dissipated within his anger, he took a deep breath in and regained his hope and his desire to conquer Claire.

'It's not the first time I fight my brother for a girl. We used to steal each other's girlfriends as a hobby in our teenage years.' He thought to himself.

Surely enough this time Cole wouldn't blame him since he wasn't aware of Brendon's evil plans.

The poor man thought destiny just played him a cruel trick to make Claire end up with his brother instead of him. Little did he know that a determined brother could be much wicker than any destiny trick.
