Chapter Four

Almost Three Years Later

Harry's (Lilly's) POV

Good morning. Happy Birthday to me.

Today is my birthday, July 31. My room is the bedroom that used to be Dudley's second room, so I didn't sleep in the cupboard. Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Dudley treat me well. I call Aunt Petunia, Aunty, and Uncle Vernon, Uncle because I have to act as a child. All the people in the household call me Harry because Aunty does not like hearing Lilly. On paper it's Lilly Harry Dianne Gagne-Potter. Aunty found the name Dianne and thought it was fitting.

For the last little while I have been helping clean the house with Aunty. Aunty already knows I can read and write very well. She is sending me to school a year early because of that. I am planning to skip grades or something. With the memories I know most of the school curriculum and the little bit I don't know I can always memorize.

I want to show off some of my talents so that I can be called a genius. Anyway I got dressed in a pretty, black and white, flowy dress. I only wear dresses on special days but I still wear skirts. I wear tights and yoga pants most of the time. I wear running shoes and on special days I wear flats. I always wear leather gloves and keep my hair up.

When I am going down stairs I see Aunty. I greet her with, "Good morning, Aunty."

I see her smile as she says, "Good morning and happy birthday, Harry dear."

I smile at this and reply with, "Thank you, Aunty."

Then she looks back to what she is doing and then sighs. She starts speaking to me again, "I still have to get everything ready, so how about you go grab some toast? You can go to the library then I will pick you up there."

I replied, "Ok Aunty. Goodbye, see you in a bit," as I grab the toast from the kitchen. I head out and walk to the library which is pretty close while I finish my toast.

I have been going to the library for about half a year because I was bored. I have read all the books in this library but they have working computers. I have Ideas for businesses so I plan them out here but I won't start any until I have finished high school. I have decided that when I finish high school I will go to Gringotts.

"Harry dear," a woman's voice called out and I recognized her as Aunty.

I sign out of the computer and go to the library entrance. I see Aunty and say, "Yes, Aunty."

Aunty jumped as I was behind her. She turns around and tells me, "Dear, time to go home."

I sigh and reply, "Ok Aunty." I grab her hand to hold and we go home.

When we get inside Dudley comes up to me and gives me a hug while saying, "Happy Birthday."

I reply with, "Thanks Duds."

Uncle Vernon walks into the room while saying, "Happy Birthday."

I just got a, "Thanks," out before Dudley is dragging me to the living room.

When we get there I count five presents. I'm happy that it's not many but they're quite big.

Auntie walks in and says, "Dear, you can start opening your presents."

I nod as I pick and grab the smallest present first. In it there were three blank, locking Diaries.

Aunty just states, "A girl has to have secrets."

I smile as I say, "Thank you." I open the second smallest, it has a bunch of art supplies in it. There were two books of mixed-media paper, a little bit of gouache, a little bit of watercolours, and some sketching stuff.

I was surprised and asked, "How did you know?"

Dudley speaks up and states, "I looked at your wish list."

When I started to go to the library, I started a wish list. I only had muggle things on it so if the Dursleys ever saw it they won't find out that I'm a witch.

I then go and open the next one. It has a laptop and DS in it with a bunch of games.

Aunty then pipes up, "You are always going to the library for the computer, so I thought you would like it. You're also starting school soon."

I smile and say, "Thank you," as I give Auntie and Uncle a hug.

I go to grab the second biggest one when Auntie says, "Be careful."

I unwrap it and it has a big teddy bear and a beta, with things to take care of it.

I started tearing up and Dudley hugged me and asked, "What's wrong?"

I smile and answer, "Happy tears."

Aunty then says, "We thought you were responsible enough," Uncle just nods.

I smile and hug them both. I opened the biggest present, it was full of school supplies. There were markers, fine tip markers, pencil crayons, crayons, lots of lined and black paper, folders, pencils, mechanical pencils, notebooks, scissors, ruler, glue sticks, two binders, a calculator, pens, etc.

I tear up again while saying, "Thank you," over and over again. Auntie hugged me until I calmed down.

When she lets go she says, "You are going to school soon and you have been helping friends' children with their homework." She then adds, "Put your stuff away, brunch in half-an-hour."

I said, "Ok," then I asked Dudley, "Can you help me bring stuff upstairs?"

It only takes about five minutes, with Dudley's help, to get everything in my room. After we get everything upstairs, Dudley leaves to do something else.

My room layout is, a bed in one corner, a desk in the corner across from the bed, in the corner beside the bed is a book shelf, with the other corner being the door. There's a dresser/closet beside the door and desk, and a nightstand next to the bed.

I decide to put the betta on the nightstand; the laptop on the desk; the DS, games, and betta supplies in the nightstand. I put the diaries on my desk with my laptop. Some of the art supplies and school supplies go on the desk, while others on the book shelf.

As I still had about fifteen minutes till brunch I decided to start sketching Hogwarts. When it's been about fifteen minutes I set my sketching stuff down and start going down stairs. Aunty was about to come get me by the time I got to the bottom of the stairs.

As soon as I saw Aunty I asked, "Is it brunch time now?"

Aunty replies with, "Yes Dear, go wash your hands."

After I washed my hands, which by the way were almost black, I went and sat at the table. When everyone was at the table the food was served. Uncle and Dudley aren't pigs with their food as much as my last life, so that's a plus. When everyone has eaten Uncle heads to work and Dudley goes out to play with his friends. Aunty sets me down for a talk.

She starts with, "Dear, this is about your schooling. I'm thinking about putting you in the test to see what grade you are, since I doubt you are even in grade one or two."

I smile at this because I was going to suggest that anyway. I think for a second then answer, "I would like that but, I also want to go into other programs such as dance, singing, art, martial arts, animal handling, instruments, and a lot more."

Aunty just replies with, "Dear, we don't have enough money to get you in all those programs, maybe dance or singing, and one or two instruments. We might be able to get you in some of the other ones later."

After the talk I help Aunty clean up from brunch. When everything was clean Aunty brought me to her afternoon tea with her friends. Aunty normally doesn't let me partake in it but she already drilled me on tea time manners and made sure I mastered them. Aunty hates to be embarrassed.

It seems I did quite well because I was invited to join them again sometime. Aunty seemed happy on the way back home, too. When we are home I help Aunty with supper. She only allows me to cook alone during breakfast and only sometimes, not always.

When Dudley got home Aunty sent me to play with him. When Dudley and I play it mostly consists of me teaching Dudley things. This is why Dudley is the smartest of his friends in his age group. By the time Uncle got home supper was almost done, so I got to set the table.

After supper we had cake then it was bedtime. I stayed up a little and finished my sketch of Hogwarts. I went to sleep with a smile on my face.
