It hasn't been long since Meng Tian's clone had entered the ocean. He transformed his body so that he could breathe underwater. His body was already strong enough to counter the pressure inside the ocean up to a certain depth. He could always transform into a sea creature nearby to endure the pressure as he moves down to the seabed as the purpose of this journey was to collect resources, information about the races underwater, any information about the ancient relics, and so on.
Meng Tian had already dived to a depth of a thousand meters when he started encountering more creatures of foundation establishment level which was huge discovery for him due to the fact that he was a miniscule part of this humongous ocean area and already found such powerful creatures. If he multiplied this number with the total ocean area of this planet, then the human race is nowhere near to even compete with the sea creatures.
As he was diving deep, none of the creatures dared to go near him due to the natural aura released by the body of the blood carnage clone which could suffocate any living being under his cultivation level. He could keep this aura restrained but he did not want to hinder his movement while moving downwards. But to his surprise he noticed some of the creatures behaving more and more like intelligent beings as the depth of the ocean increased. Meng Tian had expected the creatures of this world having absorbed the precious qi in the surroundings to mutate and give rise to intelligence like humans.
Then he immediately stopped moving and rushed towards a foundation establishment level octopus like creature with sharp tentacles that could pierce right through thick metal walls. His speed was affected by the surrounding medium of water but he withdrew all of his aura and stealthily moved to attack the octopus. This octopus was initially moving leisurely in the ocean and did not have any thing to worry about in its territory never expecting to be in the sights of a ruthless hunter. With a single blow from his punch, Meng Tian instantly turned the octopus into a blood mist but within seconds in its place, stood another identical octopus which rushed away from its place.

When the creatures nearby had a clear look of the area as the blood mist was dispersed, there was no sign of any thing at all, and the octopus that fled away was already out of sight of that place. The good news was that the escaped octopus was none other than Meng Tian's clone which transformed himself into the octopus after killing it. To his surprise, the core of the dead octopus that he obtained after killing it was much larger than he expected.
The Beasts on land or the creatures in the oceans... all of them are born with bodies that are compatible with the natural energy of this world. Qi flows through their bodies ever since they are born and gets accumulated gradually over the years inside them towards a single point called the core. As this process continues, this core that is formed becomes larger and larger signifying the increase in their cultivation levels. Meaning unlike humans these creatures do not need any manuals or purposeful training as such to cultivate themselves.
Meng Tian's main body had already started killing beasts and collecting their cores ever since the district training camp started more than a week ago. And the clone that had gone to explore the land area of this planet had already encountered foundation establishment level beasts but the cores that he obtained from them were much smaller in size than the sea creatures, the reason to which was totally unknown. He was sure that the authorities already have a clear idea of this phenomenon and from the studies and classes that he had gone through over the first week in camp, he knew that the cores of these creatures can be used to make medicinal pills that can enhance the physical strength of human bodies. Other uses include the manufacturing of rare blood regeneration pills, the cores of certain powerful creatures with special attributes can even be made to increase the cultivation by multiple levels in a realm instantly, etc.
Now that Meng Tian had seen such a huge supply of rare sea creatures and their cores, he had no scruples in killing them to improve his own cultivation.
"What would happen if I just eat up the cores of these creatures... would I get any energy points or directly increase my cultivation or any other fancy things can happen?"
Without waiting further, he transferred the foundation establishment level octopus core to his main body through the connection of their consciousness spaces. It was a miraculous thing, this space, that was probably beyond the scope of the restrictions of this world that could instantly transfer items and any items placed inside this space could not be detected by any being of this world.
Meng Tian's main body was still going through the one month period of mandatory survival, hunting and exploration test of the camp. The goal was to collect as many Saccharine Lilac Lilies as possible along with killing the beasts near them. So, it was night time in the camp and Meng Tian's team was already way ahead of their competitors during the first week of this exercise. Meng Tian was inside a small tent that he pitched for himself to rest for the night. All the seven team members were very tired but the leader Lin Caihong was tasked to be on the lookout along with Chen Shanyuan from second year. Although they were on the first shift of the lookout and doing their jobs well, Meng Tian had already spread his spiritual sense to cover a very large area and kept an eye on everything.
As he was doing that, he was reading through one of the books that he had kept inside his consciousness space which he had collected from his teacher Tiao. He had asked her to lend him some books that were generally unavailable in his high school as he wanted to learn more about this world. As he knew she was from the military and would have some books from the college curriculum, he did not expect her to carry them around inside her storage ring just like that. This was good news to him as there were a lot of books on the general knowledge of this world like the compendium of wild life and plants which was a mandatory reading for the alchemist course in college.
Meng Tian had been reading these books and gaining experiences left and right. But he was not focused on getting any skills out of these, he was just thirsty for knowledge to make his life more comfortable in this new world. Although he had already obtained so much information by browsing the internet from the first three days of his arrival in this world, there would always be more to learn than what is available on the public forum. As he was going through the this test to collect the magic lilies needed for the production of the recovery serums, he was delighted to find new changes in his Status... as of today when he finished reading all the volumes in the compendium of plants and animals.

Immediately, all the information that he had read through about plants and animals had been completely imprinted in his mind and a new shadow began to form inside his consciousness space which showed a man in long robes looking around a plethora of herbs floating in the air beside him. This shadow stretched out its hand and a flame shadow appeared with all the herbs directly going into the flame and the impurities were removed within these materials within seconds. Once this process began, Meng Tian could see the precise order in which the flame purified the ingredients and combined them to form a shining liquid substance which was then converted to form a small pebble like structure. This 'pill' formed from this process was not yet complete as the shadow began to inscribe complicated runes onto the pill using his other hand and finally the pill was complete.
Just as Meng Tian thought that the shadow would disappear as always, it looked at him and he felt that it even smiled at him before rushing to merge with his soul body inside the consciousness space. Even though it felt like a lot of time had passed, but it had completed in an instant. But Meng Tian only opened his eyes after about an hour when he finally sorted through all the memories that he had obtained that showed how an elementary alchemist uses a furnace to refine pills. He was far away from the level where he could use a flame in his hands to refine pills and even inscribe runes on them.
"Hahaha... A new occupation, finally. I have read through so many books at home and never once got a new occupation. Looks like there are hidden triggers and conditions for me to complete in order to get one. Well, anyway looks like I am also an Alchemist now..."
