I sighed heavily. I felt wrong, like was taking advantage of him or maybe his family. "Does your family know about this, I mean… I guess it probably is their money right?!" My throat tightened.
Dean twitched his lips and opened his mouth a few times. Instead of answering, he drew me close and leveled his head to mine again. I tilted my face so that my mouth was close to his.
It felt like the world around us came to a stop. I no longer heard the cars on the busy street, or the people walking by. I placed my hand on his chest. Tugging him to kiss me, hypnotized by how luscious his lips looked.
A smile spread across his face. "You need to breathe, princess," reminded Dean. Realizing that he was right, I bit my lip and shyly looked down at my feet.
Dean groaned and tilted my chin up with his index finger, to make me look at him again. I thought he was going to say something but then he kissed me.
His lips felt soft, yet demanding. Deans hand tangled up in my hair, possessing me. I explored his face with my fingers, while his tongue explored my mouth. I loved the feel of his stubble beard, it was surprisingly soft.
Out of breath, Dean placed his forehead against mine.
"Princess, I need to confess something," Dean shrieked. A hysteric giggle escaped my lips. "Are you seriously going to confess to me that you are insanely rich, after you just gave me a house?" I joked without humor.
Dean put a little space between us. I took his hand and we started walking down the road, back to the shelter again.
"Well, yes I am," Dean croaked. "Rich," he unnecessarily added. "And to answer your question; I have that money in my own right," stated Dean. What the heck was that supposed to mean?
We arrived at the shelter again. "But there is more… I am-"
The front door of the shelter suddenly opened. For some reason I felt unsettled. "Melissa, good that you are back. I heard that your children are awake," Axel told us.
"Go get them," ordered Dean. Axel shot me a look. I did not know how to explain this. As on cue, Dean explained the situation for me. "Melissa, her mother and the boys are coming with me. They will be in a secure location, with everything they could need or want," Dean coolly said.
"And how do you feel about that?" Axel pressed. I looked at the contract, which I was still holding. I actually did not know how I felt about that. "It is best for my sons," I declared. And that was the truth.
Axel seemed to linger at the door. She was eying Dean from head to toe. If you would ask me, he looked extremely edible.
Dean glanced at his watch, and I felt like he was signaling me. I played along with that.
"Right, we need to catch our…" I said and glanced between Axel and Dean. Shoot, how did he actually get here so fast? I had just spoken to him on the phone a little while ago, it had taken us hours to get here by car.
"Flight," Dean filled in the blanks of my sentence. "Flight?" Axel and I said at the exact same time. "Yes" grinned Dean. Axel and I just stared at him.
"We need to catch our helicopter," Dean said evenly. "Is that how you got here so fast?!" I shot at him. Dean tried to hide his laugh with a cough. "Yes" he sweetly smiled. "There is less traffic in the air, you see," he pointed out.
"Alright, I will go get the boys," I said feeling unsure how to behave right now. I had so many questions, but it was not a good idea to ask them in front of Axel.
I hesitantly walked into the hallway of the shelter. Axel immediately closed the door behind me, startling me. "Who is he?" she asked. "He uhm… is a fellow student," I told her. "And you are together?" She had no shame and went on asking.
"No," I said unsure. He just gave me a freakn' house… but no. We were not together. "It is a very handsome young man," Axel said thoughtfully.
"That he is," I slowly agreed. Axel's stare made me feel uncomfortable, so I told her I was going to my mom and the kids now. She finally went on to do her own stuff.
I ran up the stairs and midway I paused. What the heck was I going to tell my mother? That we were going back to the estate by helicopter? Because the guy I had spent several nights with, granted us a piece of land on the estate and two houses? Just like that?
I stood still for a split second and then ran down the stairs again. I flew open the front door and Dean was leaning against the brick wall, his arms folded against his chest.
"Dean," I breathed out of breath. Dean turned around, his eyes soft. "What exactly am I supposed to tell my mother," I almost shouted at him. Dean seemed stunned by my intensity. He half-smiled at me.
"What are you referring to love?" he questioned sultry. The way he looked at me made my thoughts even more cloudy. I shook my head, trying to clear it. "About the house of course and the helicopter," I raised both of my hands.
Dean licked his lips. "That the both of you never have to worry again," he said and straightened himself, approaching me. "What's the matter Melissa?"
The way my name rolled off his tongue made me long for him,in a way I never knew existed. Dean slowly stroked my cheek and my skin burned. There was no doubt my face was red from heat now.
"Go get them and let's get out of here," instructed Dean and kissed my forehead.
