I need you to save me

Jin-Ae walked up the stairs and headed to the last door at the end of the hallway. She entered her room. It was small, typically only big enough to hold a single bed and a small cabinet for her clothes. In fact the room would have had enough space for a desk where she could work and study, if only majority of the rooms space weren't occupied by storage boxes; for the room she was given when she first got there was only just a storage room.

She had only managed to make a big enough space for her to walk freely between the door and her bed, and also the bed and her closet.

Jin-Ae walked to her bed which had a small window at the top of it, where sometimes she would open to get air when the night is hot for her room didn't have AC like the other parts of the house. She threw her bag onto the bed and then herself. She pulled out her phone and checked her email, eagerly waiting to see if she has been accepted hoping she got the scholarship.

She then said to herself, "Just four more years of this hellhole."

Jin-Ae then reached for her drawer and pulled out an old picture. She stuffed it inside her pocket and walked out her room and down the stairs entering the kitchen and exiting the house through the backdoor. In the back yard she headed for the gate and started to run in the dark down the street heading for Willow Park at the center of the town she lived.

When she arrived at the park she headed to the center of it where there was a huge Willow tree. Jin-Ae walked through it's branches which could be easily swayed by the softness of winds, to the white bench that was there and sat down. She pulled the picture out from her pocket and looked at the back of it. At the very bottom there were these words written on it:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIN-AE

From: Sung-Ho

She turned the picture around revealing her around a cake with an eight shaped candle on it, and a boy sitting right next to her singing her happy birthday. At seeing this Jin-Ae smiled as her memories flowed back to that day.

Jin-Ae's flashback

"Jin-Ae, are you sad that I'm leaving?" Sung-Ho asked as Jin-Ae and him were trying skip rocks by the pond behind the orphanage.

"I am, but at least you're spending my birthday with me, right?" Jin-Ae smiled at him.

"Right." Sung-Ho chuckled placing his hand on her head. After a while they walked up to the orphanage and headed inside to where Jin-Ae was surprised with a cake, and everyone started to sing happy birthday for her.

As she was about to blow her candle their picture were taken.

After the part was over and the cake was shared Jin-Ae stepped out to the backyard of the orphanage and sat on one of the swings, hanged on the huge mango tree next to the veranda.

Suddenly someone pushed her from behind causing the swing to start rocking.

"Why are you out here?" It was Sung-Ho.

"I...I'm thinking that I don't want you to go." Jin-Ae then spouted.

"I know." He assured her.

Jin-Ae then continued, "but....I want you to have a family."

She looked to the ground and started to sob. In a swift the picture taken when she blew her candle was flashed in front of her face.

"What's this?" She asked taking a hold of it.

"What does it look like; It's a picture of me and you." Sung-Ho stated. He then continued, "Whenever you feel like you're alone, or scared, or just need someone to talk to; I want you to take out this picture and do something."

"What do you want me to do?" Jin-Ae puzzledly asked lifting her head up to him.

Sung-Ho sat on the other swing next to her, "I want you to sing this song..."

In the Present

Jin-Ae slowly came back from her thoughts. She then looked at the picture and started to sing the song Sung-Ho told her to sing:

"Feel the wind blow, by my window

as I'm woken by the sunlight so gold.

It's an everyday thing but I struggle,

to open up my eyes cause I don't know

If I'll ever make it out of this place;

the room where I reside is a cage.

Looking for a little bit of space in my head, head.

But I'm forced in a game I don't wanna play,

in a race run the other way,

in a maze that I can't escape;

I need you to save me."

As the song came to an end a tear rolled down Jin-Ae's face. She felt alone, and scared that she won't be able to live the life her mother wanted for her. Her heart ached whenever she thought of how her mom would feel if she knew that Jin-Ae was being treated like this.

"You're the one who thought me this song Sung-Ho. You promised that whenever I sang it I would feel a little better, but why am I starting to feel worse." She whispered.

Seeing as to how cold she was starting to get Jin-Ae knew that it was getting late. She got up off the bench. Stuffing the picture back inside her pocket she walked from underneath the Willow tree and headed back home.

She entered the house the same way she sneaked out and headed to her room, taking out the picture from her pocket and placing it back in the draw.

She checked the time on her phone to see that it was already 7:00 p.m. She quickly tied up her hair and headed to the kitchen to make dinner for everyone.

When dinner was over everyone went to take a shower and headed to their rooms all except for Jin-Ae who was just about to eat.

She ate the little they had left for her and then started to clean the house as Mrs. Lee ordered. She scrubbed the ground on both floors in the house, cleaned the bathrooms, the kitchen, and dusted every nick and cranny in the house.

The house was huge and she only had two hands, although it took a very long time and a whole amount of energy she got the work done.

It was now 5:49 a.m. and the sun was up, but Jin-Ae was just heading to bed. She was too tired to take a shower so she just went to her bed, and the second that her her head hit that soft pillow of hers; she fell into a deep sleep in an instant.

Meanwhile; during the time all that was happening

In the parking lot the three guys walked towards Jungkook's car and came to a halt.

"Are you going home today, or staying at ours, Yoon-Gi?" Jungkook questioned.

"Yours, I guess, Who's driving today?" Yoon-Gi answered then asked.

Jungkook took the keys out from his bag and tossed it to Tae-Hyung saying, "You guys go ahead, I feel like walking today."

"Really bro?" Tae-Hyung asked quickly catching the keys.

Jungkook nodded, "Tell mom that I'll be home in time for dinner." He turned around and started to walk away.

"What was that all about?" Tae-Hyung walked towards the drivers side of the car and opened the door. He got into the car and Yoon-Gi did the same on the opposite side of the car. They simultaneously got into their seats at the same time and Yoon-Gi the n replied, "I don't know, but I'm starting to worry about him."

"Why?" Tae-Hyung asked.

Yoon-Gi looked through the window watching Jungkook in the distance, "Think about it, he's been moody ever since we brought up 'her' when he came back from the bathroom during the auditions."

Tae-Hyung also looked through the window and agreed, "You're right, but we know him better than anyone, he's not going to admit that he's not fine. He'll lie and say that nothing is wrong, when in fact everything is. He doesn't like to be seen helpless."

Yoon-Gi turned to Tae-Hyung seeing that Jungkook disappeared around the block, "Yeah, if only he wasn't so stubborn."

They both started to chuckle as Tae-Hyung started the car. "ahh, that's JK for you." Tae-Hyung sighed, pulling out of the parking lot and driving away.
