Willow Park

Jungkook's car pulled up in driveway of a huge mansion. Tae-Hyung and Yoon-Gi got out of the car and walk towards the door of the house. Upon reaching the door Tae-Hyung tossed the car keys to the valet who headed to park the car in the garage.

"Mom, we're home." Tae-Hyung shouted as Yoon-Gi and him walked towards the kitchen. His mom came running from the living room, hearing the voice of her son.

"Finally you guys are back..." she paused and scanned the kitchen when she saw that it was only Tae-Hyung and Yoon-Gi standing by the counter, she then asked, "Where's your brother?"

Tae-Hyung walked towards the refrigerator and opened it taking out two bottles of water as Yoon-Gi pulled out a chair and sat down. "He said he felt like walking today." Tae-Hyung shrugged throwing one of the bottles to Yoon-Gi.

"Why did you let him? Do you know how far it is from your school to here, not to mention the fact that we all know, that he's going to take a detour." Mrs. Kim reprimanded as she walked back and fort between the counter and the kitchen door. She then stopped and turned to Tae-Hyung, "Did he say what time he'll be back?"

"He said before dinner." Tae-Hyung answered before lifting the bottle of water up to his mouth again.

"Hello Mrs. Kim." Yoon-Gi suddenly interrupted.

She turned away from Tae-Hyung and a bright expression succumbed her face as she smiled, "Yoon-Gi, ah....it's been a while." She then hugged him saying, "You've grown, something changed since the last time I saw you....aha, you got more handsome, keep it up and you'll surpass these guys in no time." Yoon-Gi chuckled as Mrs. Kim released him from the hug.

"And how many times do I need to tell you call me mom. You've been a friend of my boys for so long, you now are like a son to me." Mrs. Kim then continued.

Yoon-Gi nodded and smiled while Mrs. Kim pampered him. Tae-Hyung who was watching sighed then lifted the water bottle to his mouth once more.

Mrs. Kim then turned from Yoon-Gi and walked behind the counter where Tae-Hyung was and said, "Well since your home early, congratulations you get to help make dinner."

"But, Ma..." Tae-Hyung whined.

She cut him off, "No buts, go wash your hands and come help." Hearing his mom Tae-Hyung walked towards the down stairs bathroom to wash his hands.

Mrs. Kim turned to Yoon-Gi asking, "Would you mind helping?"

Yoon-Gi smiled and warmly replied, "No mom." He then got up and headed behind Tae-Hyung to wash his hands.

"What a sweet kid." Mrs. Kim murmured as she started gathering what was going to be used to make dinner.

Meanwhile

After parting ways with Tae-Hyung and Yoon-Gi in the parking lot, Jungkook started walking home. While walking he took out his phone and black Samsung earbuds to listen to music. After choosing a song he placed his phone into the back pocket of his pants.

He hummed to that song that was playing as he walked around a corner of a street, taking the long way home.

After about 45 minutes of walking Jungkook came to a halt in front of an iron gate. He looked up and saw the words Willow Park spelled in huge letters in the arch of the gate. He took out his phone to check the time, and saw that it was already 5:00 p.m.

"So that's why it's already getting dark." He whispered to himself. He then continued, "Dinners probably gonna be ready around 7:00. I still have time."

Jungkook opened the gate and walked inside of the park, heading for the pond behind the willow tree at the center of the park. When he arrived he sat on the bridge over the pond and he continued to listen to the music playing in his ears. He looked up to the sky and watched the stars taking in a deep breath.

Jungkook the thought to himself, 'Just when I thought I escaped you, you snuck up on me.'

Jungkook clenched his fist as released it as a tear rolled down from his face and fell into the pond beneath him. He looked down at the ripple in the pond caused by that tear, and smiled in a painful way.

After a while he checked his phone to see that it was already a quarter to six, so he called an uber and started to head back to the gate where he entered from. As he did so he noticed someone walking towards the bench under the willow tree. He didn't see who it was, for that someone's head was turned back to him. Without giving it a second thought, he rushed to gate of the park where he waited for the uber to arrive.

A few minutes later

Jungkook got out of the car after it pulled up next to the sidewalk in front of his house and paid the driver, thanking him for the ride. He walked up to the doors of the house and as he opened it he was greeted by the rigorous expression of his mom.

His eyes became enlarged and she reached for his ears and dragged him into the house closing the door behind her.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, Ouch Ma!" Jungkook wailed as she dragged him into the kitchen, where Tae-Hyung and Yoon-Gi were gathering the plates to be placed on the table for dinner. The two guys chuckled as Mrs. Kim released Jungkook's ears leaving it red.

"What are you guys laughing at?" He snapped at them.

Mrs. Kim then hit behind his head, "I'm the one who should be asking the questions here. Why didn't you pick up the phone when I called? Why didn't you come home with your brother and Yoon-Gi? Why are you back so late? What..."

Jungkook cut her off saying, "Ma, slow down. I can only answer one question at a time."

"Jungkook" His mother sternly said making him gulp.

Trying to change the topic Jungkook quickly asked, "What was it that you wanted to tell me when you called today."

Mrs. Kim then took her eyes of Jungkook for a while and looked up to the ceiling, then she snapped her fingers and said, "Oh right, your father and I can't make it to the party this Saturday so I need you and Tae-Hyung to go in our places. I believe Yoon-Gi is going with his dad, am I right?" She then turned to Yoon-Gi who nodded his head and answered, "Yes mom."

"Fine by me." Tae-Hyung said as he lifted the plates from the counter and carried them out of the kitchen to the table in the dining room, and Yoon-Gi followed behind with the utensils.

Jungkook then started heading out of the kitchen but as soon as he arrived at the door he paused as his mom asked, "Where do you think you're going? I'm not done with you young man. Get back here."

Jungkook bit his lips and slowly made his way back in front of Mrs. Kim, "Ma, can't you just let this one slide. I said I would be back before dinner and I am."

Mrs. Kim just blankly stared at her son who was pleading to her. She the cleared her throat and said, "Okay."

Jungkook stopped and concerningly asked, "Okay? Just okay? Your okays are never free, what are the choices."

Mrs. Kim smiled, "You know me too well my son. Option A is I cancel the upgrade to your precious motorcycle or Option B you do the dishes this entire week."

"Entire month." Tae-Hyung cut in shouting from the dining table.

"Not helping bro." Jungkook yelled back.

Mrs. Kim then added, " Good idea, you do the dishes for the rest of this month. Your choice."

Jungkook knowing that there wasn't really much of a choice here answered, "I choose the latter."

Mrs. Kim clapped her hands, "Smart decision, Your brother and Yoon-Gi already took a shower just before you came so now it's your turn to go take a shower and come down for dinner when you're done."

Jungkook nodded and started heading up to his room.
