Chapter 7 Alex Mist Horizon Casino Early That Day 4 pm

When the key card was in the slot, the door made a soft beep and a click. Letting me push the door open. The key card worked; who is the River guy anyways. As the door shut behind me, I moved to the side and turned on the light switch making the room light up. I could see that the room had shelves on every wall except a small part of the wall with a desk and a chair.

When I moved to the shelf close to me, I could see that the shelves had trays full of casino tokens, all different colors. Okay, what colors have a higher number again? Crap, I can't remember! Right, when I continued walking around the shelves, I got closer to the desk.

When I reached the desk, I could see that papers were scattered all along the top of the desk. Before I could look at the piece of paper, I heard a noise from the door. "Shit," I said out loud as I dropped the piece of paper back onto the desk, "where to hide." Right as he heard the door open, I ran to the door hiding behind it as the door opened.

"Can you hold the door open?" a woman with blonde hair and dressed like she was a casino worker walked into the room with a cart.

"Ya, I can," another woman said as she held the door open, "let's grab some more tokens and get going before more people get mad at the front desk."

"I know, people can be assholes when they do not have the tokens," laughed the woman as she grabbed different trays on each shelf and put them on the cart, "okay, let get going; that's the last tray."

"Finally, this room is so boring to be in," the woman still holding the door open as she taped her nails on the door.

When the woman with the cart left the room, the door shut behind her, leaving the space empty with me in it one more. Okay, I need to get the hell out of this room before getting caught as I walked to the desk and started opening the drawers as fast as I could. I stopped when I found a bag in the bottom of the last drawer that I opened. This will help carry the tokens I needed as I grabbed the bag and walked over to the shelves.

Right, when I started to fill the bag with tokens, I stopped every few seconds to hear if there was anyone at the door so I would not get caught. Finally, when the bag was completely full, I walked over to the door and opened it slowly. Then, I moved out of the room, ensuring no one saw me coming out of the storage room with a full of tokens. Okay, I need to get to the desk that trades this bag in for money before I chicken out. Also, I get caught before River comes and finds me with a bag full of casino tokens. Shit, I need to stop thinking and just get going as I finally start to walk to the front of the casino.

Before I made it to the front, I saw the man that asked for my ID earlier. He was looking at me as I quickly walked to the front of the casino. "Fuck," I murmured under my breath as I looked away from the man. Hope he doesn't stop me and ask about the bag.

When I looked back at the man, the man smiled at me as he nodded, looking like he was saying, you have a good one. Did he just smile at me? I just need to smile back at him and walk a little faster to the front.

Right, when I finally made it to the front, I could see that there were two different receptionists on each side of the exit doors. "Crap which one," I sighed, looking at both receptionists.

"If you're looking to trade in tokens, you need to go to the receptionist on the right side that has fewer people," said a man with a rough voice.

"That voice," I whispered under my breath, turned around to see the scary man standing behind him, "oh, thank you, sir."

"It's my job to help when needed," the man said with a smile, looking more relaxed than when I first saw him.

"I will get going then," I laughed, faked a smile before walking to the receptionist with fewer people, "Thanks again for the help."

"You have a nice day," said the man as he turned away, "hope you had fun."

Right, when I got to the receptionist, there was a woman in her late forties looking a little older than all the other women I've seen working at the casino.

"How can I help you, sir," smiled the woman at the counter.

"I would like to trade in my tokens, please," I said as I put the bag on the counter.

"Just give me a minute, please," the woman said, grabbing the bag of tokens, "be right back."

After almost an hour later the woman came back holding a yellow envelope. "Sorry for the wait," smiled the woman as she held out the envelope, "here is your money, $90k in cash."

"Thank you," I smiled, grabbing the yellow envelope.

"Have a nice day, come again," the woman smiled.

"I will," I smiled before walking away to the front doors to exit the building. I finally have the money for my sister's hospital bill.
