Ch. 2

I glance around the lunchroom until my eyes land on an empty table. I smile a little to myself as I head towards the table and take a seat. Beginning to aimlessly scroll through my phone as I silently eat my food by myself like most days. Lightly humming to myself as I read the book on my phone I started a few days ago, until hearing a tray placed down on the spot right across from mine.

I glance up curiously as my eyes widen at the sight. Mr. Quiet sitting right in front of me with a glint of mischief in his eyes. I hurriedly dart my eyes back to my phone, trying to continue to read once again. Although, all my mind does is wander with the amount of possibilities as to why he's sitting here. What the heck?!? Out of all people to come sit here...why him? What does he want with me? I thought he got what he wanted out of me...so why is he sitting here?

Hesitantly, I shift my eyes towards him to see him peacefully eating his food in silence. Unfortunately, his eyes caught mine as he sent me a very small smile in return before going back to what he's doing. My cheeks heat up in embarrassment, as I avert my eyes once again from his gaze. Although, that didn't stop my tense state, as I feel the stares of other people looking at our table. Do people have nothing better to do?

"Woah! The quiet boy isn't sitting all alone for once," I hear in a nearby loud whisper or an attempt at a whisper, before the other voice responds.

"I know, but to think he chose to sit with a geek like her out of all people," A high pitch voice states back as I feel myself becoming smaller in my seat.

The other voice giggles, "I feel bad for him, he's kinda cute. He could do so much better than that ugly geek."

Suddenly, the table slightly shakes as Mr. Quiet stands up from his seat. Just what does he think he's doing-?!?

"If I hear another word out of your dumba** mouths, I'll make sure your lives are living hell," He states harshly towards the voices.

I glance back to see the two girls turn around immediately looking away from us. I sigh quietly in relief as I hear Mr. Quiet huff in annoyance, sitting back down in his seat.

"Thanks," I mumble as he looks at me with wide eyes, a light blush covering his cheeks in embarrassment.

"You don't need to thank me, what they said is uncalled for," He states, voice laced with irritation. But you defended me...so thank you.

I can only nod in response before the bell rings loudly throughout the room. With that, I hurriedly throw away my tray before grabbing my bag. Rushing out of there, not looking back as I head to my next class.

I find myself on the same sidewalk as yesterday, my head still thinking about the scene in the lunchroom. Why did he defend me? I'm a nobody...

I lightly kick the pebble in front of me, keeping my eyes on the ground as I watch it skid across the sidewalk ahead of me. And when did he get so talkative-

A finger flicks my forehead causing me to jump back before glancing up to once again be met with Mr. Quiet. He tilts his head in amusement as he gazes at me.

"Uh- Is there something you want?" I inquire quietly.

"Yeah, your name," He says softly.

"It's Y/N," I state, scuffing my shoe at nothing on the ground nervously.

"Nice to know. And before you ask, the name is Yoongi," He says, giving my hair a little ruffle.

I flinch away a little with a light blush on my cheeks, not used to anyone doing that. Guess I can't call him Mr. Quiet anymore.

I give a small nod and start to make my way back to kicking the pebble but his hand envelops my arm gently. He pulls me back a bit, turning me towards him. I feel my cheeks flush at the contact, as my eyes avoid his shyly.

"A-Anything else?" I question further as he opens his mouth to say something before shaking his head, closing his mouth and saying nothing.

"No, I-I'll see you around," He states before running off towards the same basketball court I caught him in yesterday. I shrug slightly and head back to kicking the pebble to entertain me on the way back home.

Yoongi's POV

I glance back over at where she is as I let out a breath of relief. Clutching the ball close to me, "Why do I want to keep talking to her?"

I groan quietly to myself as I go to shoot a basket and luckily make the shot. Hopefully she won't distract me from practice this time...just what is she doing to me?

Your POV

It's been a few days since then, but he still sits with me at lunch every single day. He partners with me everytime we can partner up in class together. When I pass by the basketball court he'll wave hi at me, and I'm just so lost as to why.

I don't get it! What does he want from me?!? Maybe it's time to give my best friend a call- maybe she can help...

I take out my phone from my pocket, on my way home and dial her number. The sound of the phone ringing in my ear before the call picks up.

"Hey, what's up?" Lydia questions softly.

"I need your help! I'm so confused!" I state as she giggles on the other line.

"What's wrong? Boy trouble?" She questions, and I could just see her eyebrows going up and down suggestively.

"Sadly yes," I mutter out, slightly pouting.

"Tell me everything!" She shouts right into my ear.

I sigh lightly and begin explaining the entire situation, how Yoongi's this quiet person. Although, lately he's been talking to me often completely leaving myself dumbfounded by his behavior.

"Woah, girl! This is great, isn't it?" She states as I grumble in response.

"How is this great?!?" I retort, sighing heavily.

"Come on! Don't tell me he's not cute!" She continues and I feel my flush a bright red at the statement, knowing it's true.

"O-Okay maybe he is, but still! What's your point?" I pry further as I hear a rustle of the phone being snatched away from her.

"Her point is that the guy is into you, Y/N," Jungkook, her boyfriend states with a light chuckle.

"W-What?!? That's so not true! I-I don't even know if we're friends," I mumble the last part, not even clarifying with Mr. Quiet- I mean Yoongi if he's my friend or even what he wants.

"Exactly! And don't clarify unless you don't like him as more than a friend," Lydia says softly as my eyes widen slightly, my mind racing.

"I-I don't know," I state, realizing I have no idea about the situation on my end. I've never thought of him as more of a friend, but then again I'd never thought someone would like me....

"Well girl, you should figure that out! I mean you saw how well it worked out for me and Jungkook," She says, although I couldn't see her I could see the giant grin plastered on her face.

"I want this for you too, except obviously with your own man. Jungkook is mine," She continues, and threatens jokingly.

"Don't worry, I won't be stealing your man," I say with a light chuckle.

"Doesn't matter anyways, I wouldn't give her up for the world," Jungkook states, as I internally cringe at the lovebirds.

"Alright, I'm hanging up so that you two lovebirds can be all cheesy by yourselves," I say before hanging up the call with a long sigh. Do I like Yoongi?
