A Special Currency?

[Hairy Man: I'll go out for a bit.]

After hitting the send button, Carter stood up and went out of his room. He looked around and made sure that he got the keycard before completely closing the door. Walking downstairs, Carter pressed the map on his left side.

He carefully examined the map to look for possible places that he could go to.

Leaving the inn that they were currently staying in; Carter went into the market. He was greeted by buildings that were similar in height. His eyes surveyed around the area until something caught his attention.

"Hair Trade?"

His curiosity was pricked. Carter's feet started to race on their way to the small shop at the very end. He knows for sure that players wouldn't be able to see this in just one glance. They need to carefully look at the shop's name in order to notice it.

"Good morning, Sir," a female attendant greeted Carter. The woman bowed. She was wearing a brown dress that was reaching her knees. Unlike the players, the woman has hair, the same as the person at the front desk.

"What is this shop?" Carter asked.

The man on the desk smiled widely, telling Carter to go near. "Here, Sir," the man uttered.

A few wooden boxes suddenly appeared in front of Carter. They vary in size, but what appealed to him the most was the box in the middle. It was darker and smaller in size compared to others.

"How much is this?" He asked, showing interest in the product.

The man grinned. He took the small box and lifted it in the air. "My items are very special. There are only 10 shops like this in the whole game."

He nodded. "What's inside this?" Carter carefully examined the box when the owner gave it to him. It only fit perfectly in the size of his hand. He tried to shake it, but the box didn't produce any sound.

"I do not know," the owner shrugged his shoulder.

"Are you sure there's something inside this? What if this is a scam?!" Looking with his doubtful eyes, Carter placed the box down on the table.

The owner laughed. He shook his head and said, "Young Man, we're in a game not in the real world. We don't offer scams here or the game's image would be tainted."

Carter gave a dull look. 'As if the game's image was not tainted when you trapped us inside.'

"How much is this?"

"That costs 1000 hair strands." The owner responded that it surprised Carter.

"The hair is a currency too?" Confused, Carter blurted out.

The woman on the side smiled. She was listening to the conversation since earlier.

"A hair in the game is a special currency. This could be used to have special items that, of course, we ourselves don't know. This information couldn't be seen in the game. The players need to find it out themselves. This is one of the hidden rules inside the game." The woman said.

It was true that they do not have any idea about what was inside the boxes. For them, it was a big mystery as well.

Carter processed the information given to him. 'One of the hidden rules… that means there are still more waiting to be known"

"I only have 110 hairs so far. I couldn't afford that one." Carter uttered when he remembered that he only had a few strands of hair in his inventory.

The owner's lips rose up as if Carter had said something amazing.

"Don't worry, you can pay the rest once you have enough. We just need to place this ring in your hand. Once you already paid the rest, this would automatically disappear. "

Carter tilted his head to the side. "I do not need to go into the store again, right? Since the balance would automatically be subtracted once I gathered enough hairs"

"Bingo." the owner clicked his hands.

"I'll take this then." Carter pointed his finger to the wooden box that he liked.

"Pack this, Amore." The owner turned his head towards the woman. The woman immediately packed them, wrapping them up in brown paper.

"Make sure that you will only open this if you're alone." the man advised Carter.

Carter just nodded. He took the box and placed it in his inventory.

[110 hairs will be deducted, do you want to continue?]

He clicked the yes button until he saw that the hair on his stats turned into 0. The owner handed him the silver ring.

"You cannot get this out unless your balance is paid, do you understand?" the owner questioned.

"Yeah," Carter wore the ring on his middle finger. It abruptly showed a red light that vanished quickly after.

Without anything more to do, Carter went out. He looked at the time and saw that he only has 30 minutes left. He was about to walk when he received a message from Joseph.

"Where are you, Man? Instead of coming back, we're just going to you to save time."
