It was true that the 2x boost to his exp really gave Carter an advantage. He was among the top 5000 players in the game in just a short period of time. He jumped in the ranks in just 3 days.

Dandrik's level was almost at 10, while Joseph was at mid-10. The difference between them could really be seen.

Although with the help of the necklace that was given to him, others could see that Carter was just a Level 11 player with a ranking of 16, 987. It didn't really matter that much for others since they consider that in the middle rank.

Carter's Rank. HP bar and EXP bar were hidden carefully as well. It was no doubt that the necklace works wonders.

Those at the top were the ones being feared. The difference between the level of top places to those on the very bottom was evident.

He could see that the player who has the lowest possible level right now was just at level 3. An easy target for all.

Now Carter was genuinely curious. How could that player survive this long without being attacked. He just guessed that they were waiting for the duel, as it would give them more rewards than just killing the player plainly.

The rewards were almost doubled!

Why would they settle for less when they can have more, right?

"Carter! Are you listening?" Joseph made a face when he noticed that Carter was spacing out after they killed another bulled.

Carter got back to his senses and nodded. "Yes, sorry I was just calculating how many EXPs do I need to level up," he answered.

Actually, Carter could say his true rank and level to both men. But he thought that it was better this way. He'll just keep it a secret until one day.

What's important now was that he finally paid his debt. Remembering it, Carter hurriedly glanced over his finger and noticed that the ring was already gone.

"Where's your ring?" Dandrik, who noticed it first, asked.

"I must have lost it while we were fighting earlier," Answering simply, Carter shrugged his shoulders.

Dandrik nodded.

"Should we look for it?"

Carter shook his head at Joseph's question. "Let's just buy another one," the man chuckled.

Joseph quickly agreed and followed Carter's steps. They arrived at the market nearby. Roaming around the area, they found a small jewelry shop that was selling golden and silver rings.

"How much is this?" Dandrik asked when the ring caught his attention.

The man selling smiled widely. "Only 50 bronze coins, Sir!" the vendor answered enthusiastically.

"I'll pay. You can pick whatever you like" Carter grinned and picked a golden ring with a minimal design. It has a black stone in the middle. It just looks like his necklace.

Although the man does not know that his necklace was one of a kind, while the ring being sold was just an ordinary one.

Carter paid 1 silver coin and 50 bronze coins in the end. The two men said their than you's as they further walk on the town.

Joseph's eyes widened. "Look! There's a music instrument shop. Come, let's go there." The man excitedly exclaimed, pulling both Dandrik and Carter towards the shop's direction.

With his interest rising up, Carter immediately looked around when they entered. The white walls were giving a homey vibe. No wonder they were greeted by a few people inside.

There were a lot of instruments being displayed. From strings, woodwinds, brands, and percussions. You can literally find all that you have been looking for in the shop.

"Do you remember that we used to play the guitar in high school?" Joseph laughed as he pointed out a guitar.

"Yes, and I remember you being bad at it," Dandrik grinned and wiggled his brows.

Carter chuckled until he remembered the flute that he got from the box. 'Will I find an answer on what the flute's use is, here?' he asked as he turned around to go to the shop's main desk.

Carter didn't think twice and asked the man standing at the front desk. He opened up his inventory and made sure that no one was looking in his direction before taking the item.

"Do you know what's the use of this?" Carter asked being genuinely curious about the flute in his hands.

The man on the main desk, took the flute in Carter's hand and held it in the air. "I have never seen such a fine instrument! Would you consider selling it to me?"

Carter's forehead creased. He immediately took the flute back after seeing that the man's eyes scream with willingness.

"No, neither I have plans selling that in the future," Carter responded with distance in his voice.

He quickly placed the flute back into his inventory and turned his body against the man. Carter was about to take a step when the man on the main desk abruptly spoke.

"I have no wonder where you got that, but I'm sure that the instrument is one of a kind."
