Ancient Dragon

The three were left with questions in their minds. They looked at each other confusingly.

"What should we do now?" Dandrik asked them.

Joseph shrugged his shoulders and surveyed his eyes around. "Should we go back now? We might want to take the man's words into consideration."

Carter sighed heavily. "You two decide what we should do," he uttered and took a step forward.

"Let's inspect the area, then. We should leave a trail of stones so then we could find this same exit." Dandrik suggested.

After hearing Dandrik's suggestion, they hurriedly grabbed a couple of stones that were lying on the ground. As they moved forward, they left one behind, forming a trail that they could follow later on if ever they got lost on their way.

The three prepared themselves for the unknown. It was better that way than to be sorry.

The three wandered around the place. Carter sighed heavily. 'How did it result to this?' he uttered as his eyes stared on the ground.

After minutes, Carter noticed that the kingdom was actually grand and exquisite. It was a fool for him to think that it was cranky and old because there were no human beings around to keep it clean.

The exterior of the kingdom didn't help with his expectations.

"What is that?" Joseph asked curiously as they crossed a circular building made out of stones. It was tall in height as if the top of it was touching the clouds. In the middle was a humongous wooden door, sealed with a big piece of wood in the middle.

Joseph made an awful face. "How can we open this thing? This is huge you know?"

Carter tried to look around and looked for things that could possibly help them to open the door. When he noticed that there were some pointy rocks on the ground, he immediately pointed them out.

"Let's try to use that."

They quickly took the stone and tried to get the nails out of the wood, sealing the door. It took them roughly 10 minutes just to cut the part that has about 2 nails and another 40 for the remaining ones.

When they're done, they combined their strength to carry it.

"Bro… getting this wood is tiring already!" Joseph complained as they throw it on the ground, creating a loud sound.

Carter sighed heavily and marched towards the door. When he opened it, his eyes widened at what he saw.

"Roarrrr!"

A loud growl echoed throughout the entire place. It was unbearable and almost defeating for their ears. Dandrik and Joseph quickly gathered at Carter's side when they heard it.

The first thing that they saw was an enormous dragon. Its entire body was made out of stones and lava. The dragon has a pair of wings that were covered in fire.

< Name: Ancient Dragon >

[ Level: 99 ]

[ HP: 20000/20000 ]

[ Mana: 10000/10000 ]

"What the fuck?"

Carter couldn't help but curse very loudly as they entered inside. The dragon stood up and flapped its wings and roared one more time. The stones on the side crumbled because of the pressure coming from the wind.

[How dare you disturb my peaceful slumber!]

The dragon uttered, which made them more surprised.

"The dragon can speak?!" Joseph unbelievably said.

"We're just passing by?" Carter answered, unmoved by the dragon's presence.

He noticed that there were chains on the dragon's legs. The chains were big enough to hold the dragon in place. If his conclusion is right, then that means the dragon cannot fly or walk further than his position.

[You fools! Do you think I would believe you?]

"I didn't say that you should believe me." Shrugging his shoulders, Carter looked at where the chains were heading. Its ends were stuck at the wall, and it seems like it would be impossible for the dragon to take it out.

[How dare you!]

"Pst Carter. Don't anger the dragon or else we'll be roasted humans here!" Joseph elbowed Carter's side lightly.

Yet, it seems like the dragon was already enraged. Its mouth opened and shot lava in Carter's direction.

"Shit!" the man murmured as they jumped to dodge it.

Thankfully, the three of them reacted at the right time. The scene was now different from earlier. Carter was taking the monster seriously already. The grin on his face was now gone.

And did he already say that this monster was nothing compared to what they had fought before? Honestly, that was fool. But, of course, he wouldn't let the idiot of a dragon feel inferior to them.

"What should we do now?" Dandrik asked as they hid under a big rock.

"We—"

Before Carter could even answer, the Dragon shot in their direction again, not minding the rock.

The three of them kept running to multiple places, dodging the fireball. They kept repeating the same exact movement as they tried their best to think of a plan on how to deal with it.

"Carter!!" Dandrik yelled when he noticed that there was another fireball coming in the man's direction.

Carter got alerted by the shout. He rolled all over the floor. But the man didn't expect that there will be another attack coming in his direction.

"Fuck!" He cursed loudly as he felt an impact on his arms. When Carter looked at his hp bar, he muttered another curse.

-350HP!

[850/1200 HP remaining (Carter)]
