Chapter 1, The Eagle against The Bear

The train came to screeching halt as the A.E.F stepped off the train carrying their rifles. A red headed young man with freckles and glasses stepped off the train his name being Patrick Bishop.

Once Patrick stepped out and held his coat close to him to keep warm from the Siberian cold.

"Welcome to Siberia boys" One of the Officers said standing on a crate as the rest of the American Expeditionary Force gathered. "We are here to assist our Russian brothers from the Red menace! They call themselves a Peasant Army however they have enough weapons and machinery to cause chaos across Europe we won't let that happen!"

Patrick looked to his right watching one of the American Mechs stomped into the snow. The F-3 Eagle Mach they called it, the F-3 Eagle was a mech with robotic legs allowing it to walk the body was a cylinder with QF 2.95-Inch Mountain Guns for arms while bearing the Eagle on the breast.

The side of the Eagle had stamped German Flags showing that the Mech has seen combat, it was a three man Mech one was the driver and the other two main the guns.

"Private!" A voice shouted at Patrick who jumped then saluted "Sir?" He responded.

"About time you joined us...We're moving out to enforce the line with some British troops so you better get moving now" The Officer said as Patrick saluted again.

"Sir!" He said then ran into formation while keep looking at the Eagle with a smile. He always wanted to man one of the Mechs as his father was a Mech pilot during the Boxer Rebellion.

The first ever recorded Mech battle was during Russo-Japanese War where Imperial Russian Medved Mechs battled the Empire of Japan's Tengu Mechs during the Siege of Port Arthur.

The first ever Mach prototype was build during the Victorian Era of England where the British made what's called the Elizabeth named after their Queen.

Soon countries like the United States, Japan, France, German Empire and other nations tried building their own Mechs. It most of the Mechs were design to show Military might as the Mechs were iron and steel beasts.

Patrick sat in the trench with his fellow soldiers as they are some stew. "Hey Patrick how are you enjoying Siberia so far?" One of the Soldiers asked.

"Well it's cold very cold but it's fine I guess" Patrick says, "Hey you never seen the Western Front right?" He was asked.

"Nope" Patrick answered before eating some stew. "Get this during one of the battles I saw French Orotlan take out a German Nachtkrapp! the thing exploded into a lot of scrap" He says.

"But doesn't the Nachtkrapp have strong armor that even a Field Cannon can't take out?" Patrick says, "Well yeah but-" "Further more the Orotlan is scouting Mech not meant for battle it has a Maxim Gun but it's meant for scouting or even ambushes due to his it's speed so for a Orotlan to take out a Nachtkrapp it has to go for the tanks on it's back if it can get close to it as the Nachtkrapp has 10.5 cm Field Howitzer would blow it to pieces" Patrick finished adjusting his glasses.

"Where the hell did you learn that?" One of them asked, "Well I want to become a Mech pilot so I began to study different types of Mechs" Patrick says smiling.

Suddenly the sound of artillery being fired shook them as they grabbed their rifles and set up their defences.

Over the horizon groups of Red Army Soldiers ran towards them armed with Mosin Nagant Rifles with fixed bayonets, MP 18 Machine Guns they possible got from captured German or Austrian Weapons, American, French even British captured weapons.

"Do they have any Mechs?" One of the Soldiers shouted, "Negative! alright prepare to fire!" The Officer shouted.

Patrick aim his rifle with the other soldiers and once the Officer ordered them to fire they did. Each Red Army troop fell to the ground as the Americans rifles crack dropping more Red Army Troops.

Machine Guns begin firing cutting down the charging enemy.

After half an hour the firing stopped, however a sudden cry of Ura came as more Red Army charged in this time they had T-19 Baba Yaga Mechs.

The Baba Yaga Mechs looked like houses with legs armed with a Field Cannon, it was three man Mech like the Eagle with one driver, one spotter and one gun operator.

"Mech! We got a Mech!" Patrick shouted.

The Baba Yaga Mechs fired it's cannon killing a couple entrenched Soldiers.

The Americans grabbed their Anti Tank/Mech rifles armed with explosive bullets to damage or even disable a Tank, Plane or a Mech.

The Anti Mech Rifles fired into the Baba Yaga's left leg causing it to stumble and fall over. "One Mech down!" A soldier shouted.

Patrick fired his bolt action Springfield rifle killing a Red Army troop before reloading and resume firing. "Keep up the fire!" The Officer screamed.

Another Baba Yaga Mech was hit and fell into the snow before exploding sending pieces of flaming metal around it.

The Red Army saw the battle as bleak and ordered a retreat.

The battle was won by the A.E.F, they cheered while Patrick sighed fixing his glasses.

"Wow...this was something" He says watching through burning the Mech, Patrick got his first taste of battle he can only wonder what he'll face next.

After the battle Patrick wrote down in his journal 'First time I ever saw a Mech in action tho it was on the other side, the Reds came at us strong but we held them back

I wish we had our Mechs with us but Command said we have to use them for defensive purposes such as guarding base or a town

Well I still got my dream of becoming a Pilot like my Dad during the Boxer Rebellion I know one day I will man a Mech' Patrick put his journal away and lay in his bed as sleep taken him.
