Chapter 8, Repeating History

'May 7th, 1922; The war has dragged on some victories by Allied Command has kept morale such as British Naval victories in the Baltic and the Polish Defence Campaign.

However Bolshevik Armor such as some of their Tanks, Mechs and Planes have wrecked havoc, for every Mech that's destroyed another appears.

I've seen Iron Bears, Serfs and Baba Yaga from the Don River to even Leningard, funny the Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin had a town named after him.

Fighting the Bolsheviks reminds me of fighting the Imperial Russians again, their relentless...bloodthirsty and cruel' Karl finished writing and walked through the trenches as numerous Soldiers were either eating, drinking and fighting over the trench.

Karl was brought to an area called Line 77 where Prussian, Saxon and French troops have created a trench line fighting against what's believed is the 8th Workers Battalion.

Artillery was fired behind the trenches destroying a few Armored Trucks and one Baba Yaga. Karl looked up seeing a couple of Planes flying engaging in Dogfights.

Machine Guns which were propped on top were being manned by some French Troops while Prussian and Saxony Soldiers where they either fired their rifles or held their heads down from sounds of battle.

It was like the Great War never ended only continued into Russia. The Civil War in Russia was hot mess, Bolshevik Red Army with Russian, Mongolian, Finnish, Estonian, Latvian and other Bolshevik volunteers.

Not only was the Allied Forces battled the Red Army but the White Army of the Russian Republic, Anarchists, Monarchists who wanted the Tsar back in control and plenty of Anti Bolshevik Armies.

The main capital of the Red Army was Moscow which was considered to be impregnable as any attack on Moscow failed.

Karl has never seen Moscow but he was heard it's impossible to take it without destroying it first.

A whistle blew signaling the time to go up and over, Karl fixed a bayonet to his rifle and ran out with the Prussian, Saxon and French troops.

The Red Army noticed this and begin to counter charge.

Once both sides met they begin to fight close quarters. Bayonets stuck in Soldiers, Rifles were fired even used like clubs, knives, clubs and other weapons were used.

Karl tore a grenade from his pouch and threw it shouting "Granate!" Karl went behind a broken wall while his grenade went off then he fired his rifle killing Soldier carrying a Lewis Gun.

The Saxon Volunteers were using horses as they charged using Sabers and Lances to cause chaos in the enemy position while French Mechs flanked them.

Most of the German Mechs were used to show their Military might as their Mechs were large machines.

French Mechs were more ground usage especially during the Battle of Verdun.

British Mechs were more Naval based and some were air powered, America was different as they used and remade models based on European Mechs from Naval to Airpowered.

The one major issues with Mechs was how expensive they were and they took time to create, a lot of Machines such as Tanks and Mechs were destroyed in the Great War and some never saw battle til Second Great War.

Karl knocked a Bolshevik troop to the ground and stuck his bayonet into them. He looked around watching Troops from both sides battled.

Heavy armored French Troops carrying Machine Guns sprayed bullets into Charging Red Army while Red Army had Flametrooper unleashed liquid flames.

It was a repeat of the Great War, Karl held his rifle tightly while he ran hearing bullets being fired and explosions going off.

Looking up to watch a Plane spin from the skies being caught on fire then crash into the ground. Mark I Landship tanks rolled into the Battle with a few German Mechs providing support.

The German Mechs which escorted the tanks called the Werewolves are form of walkers with long legs and are one seated.

The Werewolf Mech had a grenade launcher attachment to it which was self reloading, The Werewolf Mechs begin firing grenades clearing any area from the Red Army.

Karl begin huffing as he felt his vision begin to shake and his body felt like it was trembling. Machine Guns erupted with loud bursts, screams and cries come from both sides.

One French Soldier held down a Mongolian Soldier as he beat him to a pulp then a Bolshevik Trooper stabbed his bayonet into a Prussian Soldier.

Karl turned firing his rifle killing one of the Bolshevik Troops who tried to sneak upon him.

Mark I Landship stopped and fired one of it's cannons destroying a Iron Bear Mech before being destroyed by a artillery shell.

The battle was slowly turning to the Allies favor, the Red Army looked on to be on the brink of collapse.

The Red Army ran to another line of defence taking control of a large Cathedral while the Allies used the Werewolf Mechs to keep the Bolsheviks from trying another Counter Attack.

British Landships circled the Cathedral making sure no escape was possible so the Bolsevhiks begin to spend after ammunition they had.

Bullets, Rockets and other Ammunition was fired out of windows, doors and other areas. Parts of the walls collapsed which could be used for cover then Prussian and Saxon Troops blow a whistle as they charged towards the Cathedral.

French Troops stayed behind proving heavy fire to keep the Bolsheviks suppressed.

Karl along with the Prussian and Saxon Soldiers stormed the Cathedral. Russian, Mongolian, Finnish and other Communist Volunteers battled them.

Rifles, Machine Guns and pistols fired in the Cathedral. Karl kicked one a door firing his rifle into a hiding Soldier before swapping for his pistol which he reloaded with fresh ammo.

Karl begin to sweep rooms til he was tackled into a wall by a Bolshevik Volunteer. Karl punched him in the jaw which stunned him then Karl took a kick into his stomach sending him down.

His attack jumped onto him with a knife which Karl held his wrist struggling with the man then Karl threw a elbow into his head getting on top as he begin raining down his elbow to his nose and face.

Finally Karl stood up firing his pistol into his chest finishing the fight.

Karl panted and huffed removing his helmet wiping his head before sitting down on a sturdy chair cupping his face.

The battle for Line 77 ended in an Allied Victory but much of the town they reclaimed was heavily destroyed it'll take months to rebuilt it.

Scars from the Great War are still healing and this war is only making new ones.
