Chapter 23, The Mission Continues

Patrick looked upon the area while the Walker stood still as Jan was collecting fresh water from a stream.

Karl was eating with Anna while sitting underneath a tree, The group have traveled for at least week. Reports from the Allied advancements have reached to Kharkiv pushing the 9th Shock Army thanks to assistant from the Ukrainian Army.

"Alright everyone let's get going" Patrick said getting his goggles on as he climb into the Stormwalker with Jan, Anna and Karl following behind.

The Walker begin moving through the fields, they continue their goal on destroying the Ksuhna Airship.

"I still think going after the Ksuhna is suicidal!" Jan said, Patrick took a drink from a canteen before passing it to Anna.

"Taking it down can help speed the end of the war, besides I hate to admit it but Ksuhna is amazing Airship technology has gotten so advance one of the reasons why I became a Engineer" Patrick said "Imagine the sooner this war ends we can make Machines for peace instead of war, maybe making ships to travel to the stars"

"To the stars? that's ridiculous! it's 1928, We have Mechs ranging from Infantry support to Naval Combat! the fact you say something going to stars is just impossible!" Karl said to which Patrick smirked at the German.

"Then call me a Dreamer" He says as Anna starts laughing. The Walker came into a village as it occupied by the British Troops, the Walker halted as they climbed out.

"Private Patrick Bishop" He saluted, "This is Karl Ludwig a Stormtrooper, Anna Nowak a paramedic from Poland and Jan Ales of the Czechslovak Legion"

"G'day Yank, I'm Sergeant Archie Collins of the 187th Royal Army Division" He saluted back to Patrick.

"We're on a Special Operation to reach Tsaritysn, do you have a map or any direction on how far we must go?" Patrick said, "Well Yank welcome to our little slice of heaven we got this place from the Reds half a month ago, your just a few more days til Tsarityn but it's hell out there from what a few Russians said" Archie explained.

"Have you seen an Airship going in by?" Karl asked, "Well we did actually it was heading out to the east"

"The Ksuhna..." Anna spoke quietly.

Suddenly a British Runner came by breathing heavily "Entire Bolshevik Regiment is coming this way! They got some heavy tanks! and I believe a Super Tank!"

"Bloody Hell..." Archie, "Yank you think you and your little party could lend a hand?"

"Yes Sir!" Patrick saluted.

The group ran to assist the British troops anyway they can from helping the Wounded, evacuating the people, preparing for an assault.

At the first sight of Soviet Tanks rolled in, Tanks have changed from being Landships to looking like Tractors with Turrets. Then the Super Tank arrived the cannon looked to be Telsa Cannon, the size of the Tank itself was larger then the normal tanks.

Telsa Cannons were usually used by The German Empire for Costal Defences, The Telsa fired powerful volts of electricity enough to destroy even the most powerful of Mechs.

The British Tanks defending the Town fired upon the Soviet Tanks destroying a few T-18 Tanks as their Troops ran for cover and others charged firing their weapons.

British Troops and the Group begin firing at the Soviets. Patrick was helping with the Self Propelled Artillery while Jan was with the British Snipers.

Anna was assisting the Medics and Karl manned one of the Vickers Machine Gun. Soviet Troops continue their killing a few British Soldiers while their Tanks fired into the Town.

Then the Super Tank begin charging it's Telsa Cannon firing at one of the British Tanks destroying it as it burst into flames.

Patrick ducked from the flying metal and looked at the Super Tank with shock and Awe. Anna ran out with her Medical bag patching one of the Soldiers til a Soviet jumped into the Town knocking her back as he stabbed into the wounded Soldier.

"No!" Anna shouted as she drew her Revolver then fired killing the Red Soldier, Jan ran over to her and help her to her feet.

Patrick fired his shotgun while Karl continue firing the Machine Gun. British Tanks despite losing one of their own continue to fire destroying another Tank while the Super Tank charged up another shot hitting a building.

"We need to destroy that thing!" Patrick shouted as two British Soldiers ran over with an Anti Tank Launcher as they loaded the Rocket and fired.

The Rocket hit through Tank dealing moderate damage but it continue to fire it's Telsa Cannon. Patrick jumped out of his cover slam firing his Shotgun killing more Red Soldiers as he went behind a stone wall.

Karl let go of the machine gun as it begin to overheat so he grabbed his SMG and fire from his position providing Jan and Anna cover.

Patrick ran back inside the Stormwalker as he loaded the cannon and fired it. The shell struck the Super Tank damaging a tread causing it to stop.

"That tank is hit! destroy it!" Archie ordered as more Artillery begin firing onto the Super Tank destroying it.

The Soviets begin to pull back from their assault as they fall back. When they took their time to breath another wave of Soviet Tanks rolled in as the British fired their artillery while Patrick fired the Walker's cannon.

Karl and Jan were firing their guns killing more Soviets while Anna patched up wounded Soldiers. The fight went on for a few more moments before it began to cease.

"Not bad Yank not bad" Archie tells Patrick as he steps from the Mech. The two shook hands "With people like you and your little party this war will end in no time"

"I hope so Sergeant I hope so" Patrick said.

Patrick and the others said their goodbyes and got back into the Mech and left the Town as they continue on with their Mission.
