"You look so cute when you are jealous." I couldn't help but let Valerie know because, at the moment, she looked like she had grown resentment toward Everleigh.

She scoffed and then turned her face away. "It's fine if you don't want to tell me her demands."

I had no idea why Valerie was suddenly convinced that Everleigh must have demanded something from me, and it worried me that she was upset about it.

When I recollected how I had made a promise to Everleigh to fulfill a request from her before the audition, I realized that I must have been rash about my decision.

I was still thinking about how to explain this to Valerie when Fuzzy Gray mindlinked.. "Isn't it better to let her know about your pact now? We can't lose our mate because of your impulsive agreement with that strange woman."

"You always find the best time to mind-link me." I returned to him but I couldn't add a scoff as I wanted.
