Jack is still sneaking up to the roof so as not to be hit by a trap or sudden attack aimed at him, he is on the seventh floor and there are still three floors left to arrive at the roof.
He heard the footsteps of several people at the same time, they were Christ, Sam, and the others after hearing Ivana's words.
"Where's your team mate?" Jack asked Christ.
"On MMV," he said. "I'm joining hands with him now," Christ pointed at Sam who was next to him.
"Want to join us, buddy?" Sam said mockingly at Jack.
"But don't touch her, my team mate."
The previous clash between them is now no longer visible because each team has lost one member, they are combined into six members in the same team.
The three of them conferred to come up with a plan so as not to lose any more comrades on the hunt, and continued walking up to the roof.
While Jane was hiding, she heard footsteps in the room.
deg… deg… deg. The sound of a fast beating heart.
Glek. Jane swallowed.
The footsteps were getting louder and closer, Jane was ready with her gun but when she peeked through the gap, it was John walking towards her.
"Get out, let's move."
Jane came out of hiding and followed him from behind, they descended the stairs and arrived on the first floor.
But while still on the stairs, John saw Sam's men standing guard at the door.
Because of that, the two of them went back up to the second floor while telling Jane to wait there for a while, he went back out through the window and jumped from top to bottom.
The man on guard was surprised by his sudden presence, he didn't have time to respond or report the incident to those who were moving towards the roof.
John snared the man's neck using a bandage that was previously used to cover his wound, the bandage did not break because if the cloth was moistened it would be stronger.
The man struggled before finally falling to the floor unconscious, and John went back up the stairs to find Jane.
"Move."
Jane walked behind him while still holding the gun that had been given to him, before they left the building, John again disarmed the man he had incapacitated.
Ivana who was standing across the street didn't say anything and just watched him because she felt owed her life for letting go and didn't kill her.
"Why don't you kill him?" Jane asked him.
"..."
John ignored her question and kept walking.
Elsewhere, Jack and the others were already at the door leading to the roof, but none of them dared open it because they realized that John might have placed a trap on the door.
They tied a rope to the doorknob and hit the rope using some of the things they found around while walking back a few meters away from the door, they simultaneously pulled the rope and nothing happened.
One of them walked over to the door, and a few seconds later an explosion shattered the door until small flying fragments hurt him.
"Argh… help me…," he shouted with his face hit by the shards of the door.
The man clutched his face as he groaned in pain, and some of them pulled him away in fear of another explosion.
Sure enough, the next explosion was heard from the roof and sent them back down one floor and gathered in a room with injured victims who needed immediate treatment.
Lets retreat for now, even if we approach him, we didn't have a chance to fight since he's there ready to shot while us coming out from that fucking door." Christ said suggesting to back off and rearrange the plan.
They descended the stairs and walked back to the first floor to call the medical team because there were injuries that needed to be treated immediately.
When they arrived, their comrade who was supposed to be standing guard at the door was now lying helplessly on the floor gagged and hands and feet bound.
Jack saw Ivana standing across the street with her partner lying beside, Jack approached her and called the medical team to transport the two injured victims to the MMV which was parked one kilometer from them.
"I don't understand why did he still stick to that fucking principle?" Christ asked Jack.
"What principles?"
"To not kill."
"Then what was happening ten years ago? Did he kill them by accident?" Jack asked him. "Tell it to yourself, how he murdered fifty people in that forest."
"..."
Christ was silent because he couldn't answer it, what happened ten years ago was a very terrible incident, where one person managed to kill fifty of the remaining seventy hunters on the last day of the game.
At that moment, John who had been cornered ran along with the target he was protecting towards the forest.
There he prepared various traps to paralyze them, but they managed to corner him and the target did not want to follow his orders until the target was captured and brought to the main base.
This is what triggers John to have a direct confrontation that kills many people.
The flames that burned the forest and the bodies of the hunters lying on the ground were the sights they found at that time, it was this incident that made them hold a grudge against John.
When it happened, Sam was on the other side of the forest trying to surround John from a different direction, that's why he didn't lose any of his team members.
The day has changed and the team led by Christ, Jack, and Sam has now been replaced by a team from another country, because every day for a full month they will take turns to pursue targets until they have an equal and fair opportunity.
John was standing and looking at his watch, it was one o'clock in the evening. "It's time for them to change teams, (It's time for them to change teams,)" he said as he walked towards the meadow which was filled with tall and dense weeds.
The two of them broke through the weeds and walked forward until they found an old, unkempt hut. "Can we rest for a while? My feets feel so numb and its hurt all over," Jane said complaining to him because they had been walking all day avoiding being chased by hunters.
John just nodded.
"Finally," said Jane, sitting on the ground.
