Ch 37: Green Apple

[This Chapter picks up from Chapter 34 and it ends the shuffled chapters.]

"You gotta be kidding!" I yelled into my phone at the lady.

"I am sorry, Ms. Perkins there is nothing else I can do for you. Without an ID, passport, or proof of your social security card. There isn't any way I can get your car back," said the rude receptionist lady.

I was livid and shouted, "there has to be something somebody can do!"

"Sorry Ms. Perkins, have a good day!"

"Wait you can't..." All I heard was the line going dead.

Following this prolonged beeping dial tone in my ear. I couldn't believe this and ended the call. Taking a breath, I put the phone down on the picnic table I sat on from underneath the tree on the campus.

In my notebook, I crossed out all my options. My bank account was frozen. The only car I had was missing from the company who did have my car, claimed they never heard of me. The lady over the phone said I need to have all my paperwork to get my car back.

Since I was thrown in jail in Egypt. I was now broke, indebted with bills, and jobless. Most of my belongings were gone, and now, I had no car. On top of it all, I had no form of ID to confirm I was even a United States citizen. Which won't make applying for any jobs easy on my part! My whole life was falling like a crashing plane.

After finding that bra underneath Orlando's bed and then nearly getting scared to death in my room. I've had a very crappy morning going into a frustrating afternoon. My stomach was growling from hunger and I didn't wanna eat Crystal's food in the dorm.

I was hoping to use my money to get some lunch and I wasn't in the mood to face Orlando to get something to eat with him.

Right in the middle of my thinking. The picnic table swayed and creaked. I looked up shocked to see Rome taking a seat across from the table with a green apple in his hand.

"Hungry?" He asked, holding out the apple toward me.

"What do I look like, Snow-white!" I said and pushed the apple away. "Like I trust anything you'd give me."

"I'm pretty sure that was a red apple,"

Rome teased and chuckled. "Since you don't want the apple, princess. I'll eat it for yeah."

I glared at him as he took this huge bite out of the apple and chewed it down like a loud cow.

"Could you be any louder when you eat!" I asked him rudely.

"Probably," said Rome and then he took another loud crunching bite out of the green apple. Of course, he kept that ridiculous smile on his face staring at me. While his jaw moved like a donkey eating hay. And his cheeks were stuffed like a hamster.

In less than five bites he consumed the whole green apple. Then he tossed what was left of the apple core. At a nearby tree for some chipmunks to fight over it. Rome laughed like a dummy to watch the rodents brawl for it.

"What do you want?" I asked, hoping to get rid of him. "As you can see I am very busy here."

Rome veered his eyes down looking at my organized notes. "I see that," Rome said. "You know Victoria, you don't have to worry about this anymore. You're marrying Kai and he'll make all this go away."

I slammed the pen down on my notebook trying my best not to yell. "None of this would have happened if it wasn't for Mr. Collin! He lied to my friends and my fiance Orlando by telling everyone I was dead! Mr. Collin froze my bank account, my laptop, my old phone, and all my identification are missing from Egypt, and then I was thrown in jail for crimes I never committed! And you honestly think I will just marry Kai! Is this all part of the blackmail if I don't?"

"No, Victoria, that isn't what I was saying." Rome started. "You going to jail shouldn't have happened. Mr. Collin froze your account to keep your earnings safe and Kai has your belongings. All you need to do is talk to him about it and I'm sure he'll give it back."

"You're sure!" I snarled at him, not surprised to hear Kai has my belongings.

"It may take some persuasion since Kai can be stubborn but I know he'll give it back," Rome tells me.

"I'm done talking about this!" I snapped and asked. "Now what do you want?"

Rome sighed deeply. "I'm here to ask if you'll speak with Kai?"

"I will never speak with him! I'm sure his blonde barbie doll will keep him entertained!" I snapped at Rome loudly.

"Look, Victoria, the truth is that was my idea for Kai to hang on some trashy chick. Kai only meant to make you jealous and he didn't mean to kiss her." Rome tried clarifying but I didn't wanna hear this pathetic excuse.

"I will never marry Kai. It's pretty clear he'll be nothing but a cheater," I raised my voice at him.

"Unlike Orlando, Kai wouldn't cheat on you! You honestly think Orlando has been faithful to you! We all know your dreams and visions are telling you otherwise!" For the first time, Rome shouts back at me.

I was a bit baffled since Rome was always a goofball rather than a serious man.

"My relationship with Orlando is none of your business!" I growled. "There is nothing you say that I will trust. Along with you, Ivan, Ace, and Kai kidnapped me! Then you drive me to an institution the second time you, Ace, and Kai kidnapped me on my wedding day!"

Rome laughed like a buffoon. "Technically, Kai, Ivan, and Ace kidnapped you. I was just the driver on both those kidnapping occasions."

Rome continued to chuckle like a dunce. This was the more annoying Rome I knew him to be.

"Are you done?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

Rome coughed himself silly and said chilling down. "Just please come talk to Kai. He feels horrible about what happened. That's all I am asking." His voice came out pleading and desperate. I bit my tongue and scolded myself for my kindness.

"Ok, I'll talk to him," I rolled my eyes while closing my notebook. When I went to stand up with Rome. Suddenly his eyes darkened in a murderous glare. I looked behind me shocked to see Crystal, Zach, Max, and Alejandro. My friends each shot Rome the same type of glare. It's a pretty firm indication that the rivalry between the Mill and Collin family grew deeper than I was aware of.
