Ch: 38: Legally Engaged

"Don't go with him, Victoria." Crystal said, fixing the bag on her shoulder. "He's lying so Kai can kidnap you again. You've been lucky to escape twice from the Collin family."

Now it got me thinking this might be a trap.

"This isn't a trap, Victoria. Kai only wants to talk." Rome said in a cool impartial tone. "He's agreed to let you have your freedom."

I shook my head at Rome saying. "I don't want anything to do with Kai."

"Victoria, please just hear Kai out," Rome implored with sympathetic puppy dog eyes. I found myself getting lured into Rome's sad eyes.

"Don't listen to him," I heard Alejandro's voice say. "Stay with us."

My eyes woke up like I was under some sorta spell. I faced Rome in front of me and shook my head no.

Rome stared at me with sympathy and then he turned around. I heard my friends from behind me coming up. Rome took off up ahead across the campus and vanished between two buildings.

We sat down at the picnic once he was gone. Max and Alejandro were across from me. Then Crystal and Zach sat between me on the picnic bench.

"You made the right move by not going with him," Crystal said, giving me a side hug. She then took her laptop out of the bag and turned it on. Something in the back of my mind wondered if I did make the right move. Maybe I should've spoken to Kai for a second. A little second wouldn't have hurt, I thought. Yet I pondered on what I was saying to myself. Kai invaded my mind enough that I wanted to talk with him and hear what he had to say.

"Let's forget about what happened with Rome and let me clear things up as to why you found that bra underneath Orlando's bed." Crystal's voice distracted my mind from wandering too far off about Kai.

"You're going to find this hysterical," Alejandro said laughing.

All of a sudden their stripper party started playing on Crystal's laptop, she zoomed in on Orlando and Alejandro. It was like the vision I had at the club. Only unlike my vision, Crystal showed me it was Alejandro kissing the red-head stripper. They went down the hall and into Orlando's room. As for Orlando, he was with Zach talking in the kitchen. Just as Orlando told me, he didn't pay any attention to the strippers. Now we burst out laughing.

"Oh, Alejandro you didn't!" I was about to laugh myself into tears.

"Yeah, I had sex with her on Orlando's bed. I was too wasted to realize it wasn't my room." Alejandro confessed and his cheeks turned bright red.

We laughed insanely! Till I felt a kiss on the top of my head. "See now I would've told you this if you weren't so stubborn to hear me." I looked up seeing Orlando looking down at me speaking with his ocean blue loving eyes.

"I'm sorry," I apologize, feeling guilty. "I just had a bad dream that you slept with a stripper."

"And here most of the guys in the dorm thought you were having PMS!" Max blurted out, making us all laugh. Crystal ended up throwing my pen at him.

Once the laughter stopped, I said to Alejandro. "I can't believe you sleep with her on Orlando's bed! That I slept on last night!"

Orlando laughed telling me, "don't worry babe, I flipped it on the clean side and I ordered a new bed online."

Everyone laughed as Zach said. "Max slept with one in my room too and I did the same thing." The laughing never seemed to stop with us.

"Since that's all cleared up, are you ready to go speak with my dad?" Orlando kissed my head and asked me.

I gazed up at him and tugged him down by the collar of his shirt, giving him a long romantic soft french kiss. Until I heard everyone ahhing over us kissing. We broke away laughing from how childish they were all being.

Max went his way while the rest of us drove to Mr. Mill's mansion. You would think the day would get better. However, it didn't. A lawyer came and nothing he said was good news. We all sat in the office on couches across from each other.

"There has to be something we can do," I said, trying not to cry.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Perkins, unfortunately since you signed that marriage certificate to Kai it means you are legally engaged to him." The lawyer notified us of the devastating information.

I burst into tears on the couch and Orlando held my head to his chest. "What if we found the marriage certificate and destroyed it?" Orlando asked.

"I am truly sorry," said the lawyer. "It's already been filed in the system. Your consent to marry Orlando has now been void because of your signature on the marriage certificate and that contact with Kai. Kai is the only one that can decline it."

I couldn't believe Kai had beat us to the chase! For Orlando and I to ever be able to get married.

The lawyer stood and shook Mr. Mill's hand then he left.

"This is all my fault," I muttered, wiping up my tears with a tissue.

Orlando kissed my temple and then said. "It's not, baby, Kai threatened you. As long as you always love me Kai can never get between us."

I stared into his eyes telling him. "I will always love you."

After we had dinner and hung out for a bit. We went back to the guys' dorm.

"I'm going to go grab something at my dorm," I told Orlando after closing the door to his mustang.

"Do you need me to come with you?" He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist at the nose of his car.

"I'll just be a second," I said then kissed him on his lips. Everyone went into the dorm and I walked down the sidewalk alone. Nobody was outside and the stars looked so beautiful. I thought when gazing upon the starry night sky. Not a cloud was in sight to block the astonishing image. The sight was breathtaking and peaceful. This eased my weary mind from the horrible news to hear I am legally engaged to Kai. My eyes welled just thinking about it.

Swoosh!

"Huh!" I turned around feeling this gust of wind hit my back but no one was around. I looked up at the flagpole and saw it wasn't moving much. Things were dead quiet, not even the crickets were chirping.

I kinda shook it off. It must have been my imagination. It's been a long day, I thought and kept walking along. Till I entered inside the ladies' dorm and up the stairs into my room. The night was late, so I didn't see any women that were out and about on my way up here.
