Ch 110: Driving Lessons

"Perhaps you should allow her to have a cell phone again. This way you can stay in touch with her," Mr. Collin suggested, lightly.

He honestly felt if Kai could loosen up on the restraint with Victoria. She'd likely come around and might start developing feelings for him.

"If I do that she'll likely contact those Mills!" Kai snorts like a vicious bull.

"Just let it rest, Kai," sighed Mr. Collin. "I feel Orlando backed off."

Kai gruffed rudely. "Orlando is a natural player just because you've seen him with different women doesn't mean anything!"

Mr. Collin tried clarifying. "That's the thing, Kai. Nobody has seen Orlando lately. I believe our business rival with the Mill family is over and Orlando is kindly letting Victoria move on from him."

"Has everyone in this whole Coven gone naive?" Kai rolled his eyes sarcastically, asking.

"Let bygones be bygones," his father said wisely.

Before Kai could make another rude remake. Rome randomly popped in from the balcony glass doors. And found Kai and his father at the desk. He then instantly reappeared next to Kai and hovered his toned body over the chair to purposely annoy him.

"What do you want, Rome?" Kai asked, getting snippy but Rome chuckled unfazed like he normally is. Which is another reason why Rome can handle Kai's temper. Unlike most of their friends.

"Come on Mr. Grumpy, let's go do something fun," Rome teasingly yanked on his black shirt several times to pester Kai. Which worked because it annoyed Kai so much that he got up wanting to get this so-called fun over with.

About two and half hours later, Kai grumbles more annoyed thinking; why did he even bother to come. "This is so stupid."

Rome laughed in the passenger seat of his blue skyline since he made Kai sit in the driver seat at this race track the Collin family owned.

"It's not stupid," Rome chuckled. "You start her up and she'll purr like a kitten."

Upon hearing Rome's weird reference to his car, Kai glanced his eyes strangely at Rome.

"I swear, has my whole clan gone mad?" Kai grumbled more. "Did you seriously just refer to this metal bucket on rubber as a she?" Rome laughed up a lung from his chest. "I can't see how you find this so funny." Kai rolled his eyes, being rather serious and uptight.

"This girl here is a skyline! One of the sweetest cars you can ride," Rome bragged, tapping on the dashboard of his car. "Babes love these cars and money."

"I could care less about women," Kai rolled his eyes. "Unlike you, I was destined to have a mate."

"Well, that's beside my point," Rome chuckled.

"Then why are you making me drive this human-made contraption?" Kai asked, getting exhausted with him.

"This is a new age," Rome commenced. "You need to get up-to-date with this modern day timeframe."

"I'm a vampire," Kai affirmed curtly. "As if I care to drive when I can get to places faster than this rusty tin can."

"Yes, but cars are fun and sexy to drive," Rome insisted, laughing.

"Did you lose your mind somewhere while I was sleeping?" Kai grumbled and rolled his eyes at the steering wheel.

"Quit being such a grumpy Dracula," Rome teased.

"What did you just call me?" Kai asked, staring at him more weirdly.

"It's the first famous fictional vampire movie since the black and white films," Rome clarified.

"What are black and white films?" Kai was so lost while Rome couldn't stop laughing.

"You know what Google, is right?" Rome chuckled

"Yes, I used it today on my dad's laptop and I found my phone has a mini Google on it too," Kai stated flatly while Rome burst out in laughter at how Kai worded his whole sentence.

"Google the history of filmmaking and you'll learn how television was made," Rome said while trying to gain breath after laughing so hard. "Anyways, start her up and drive as I showed you."

"I still think this is stupid," Kai sighed bored again.

"Just think about how cool Victoria will think you are once she sees you pulling up in your own snazzy sports car. You won't need me to drive you anymore."

Rome cleverly said this to motivate Kai and mellow out his stubborn ego.

Rome knew the right buttons to push when it came to Kai. So he counted 'one...two...three...' in his head. At that precise moment, Kai started the car and put it in drive. He gassed straight down the track and used the stick correctly each time he shifted gears as Rome had taught him.

Just before he goes around the bend, Rome directed. "Now drift her wheels, Kai."

Kai rolled his eyes from hearing Rome label his car as a she again. As he just turned the wheels sharply and shifted into gear. Like a pro, he drifted around the wide bend on the dusty dirt track. Just nearing the end of the bend, Kai lost control of the car from not caring.

Tires squeal loudly from burning rubber. They spin in a three-degree circle before smashing into the cement barrier with this loud banging and scraping metal sound. Sparks flew up on Kai's driver's door from the car grinding up against the cement. Until the car came to a stop, yet the motor still purred like a kitten.

Rome laughed like crazy, not caring Kai screwed up the whole driver's side and back door of his car. Any man would be flipping out from the damage. But Rome was overly rich from working for the Collin Royal family. He could easily buy a new sports car if he wanted.

"That was fun!" Rome raved rather enthralled. "Pull forward and let's go again."

"Ugh," Kai griped but he pulled forward and drove again as a few other friends like Jack, Ivan, Glenn, Ace, and some vampiress like Sharlene that like hot rides. Joined in on the fun to teach Kai how to drive. Although Kai still believed his friends had all gone mad while he drove.
