Ch 170: Opposite Elements

"This isn't safe for any of you to involve yourselves in a vampire's business!" Ace roared and his eyes turned venomously redder but Rose paid no attention to him and went around the bar. Then she pushed Rome, Glenn, Jack, and Ivan out of her way. None of them were happy about her, Sharlene, and Mia intervening like this. They looked at Kai who said nothing to stop it while Rose started to rewind the footage. As Sharlene and Mia further moved them aside.

"Ace is right!" Ivan now growled. "None of you should be here!"

Mia said, glowering at her mate Ivan beside her. "For once would you let us help you! Just trust us and stop refusing our help!"

Kai's friends were quite furious. Again they looked at Kai who remained quiet. Any other day, Kai would have snapped but they knew his mind was far too depressed to make any corrections with the vampiresses crossing boundaries in his clan. Furthermore, Ace got enraged and was about to order his dominance over his mate. So she couldn't refuse his order and would have to go back home without a choice.

"There she is!" Rose growled and pointed at the screen to this beauty with red perky lips, silver eyes, and brunette long hair. "That's the same vampiress that told Victoria I was puking in the alley. Every time Rex and his advisors were around, she was nearby blocking their scent! She has the stronger gift that blocks out Jack's gift."

Kai got out of his seat and went next to them. Altogether, everyone looked at the screen and saw her.

Sharlene's eyes bled redder than gemstones and hotter than the blue flame in a fire. "Whenever I get ahold of her! I am going to dig my claws into her scalp and rip her hair clean off her skull! Sharlene outbursts in horrendous acrimony with those pregnancy hormones raising.

"I'll handle this Sharlene." From behind her, Jack wrapped his arms around her waist to hug her but she pushed his hands away.

Sharlene turned around and hissed in his face, "no, I will drain her bone dry!"

"Sharlene, you can't do that," Kai spoke up quite broadly. "She'll be protected by Rex and his advisors. And we only know the one advisor that ever wears a shirt has an ice gift."

"I don't care!" Sharlene cried uncontrollable tears. She walked around the bar getting away from Jack and everybody else. Just nearing the door to slip out. Chester and his advisors showed up and blocked her retreat. Right away, Sharlene's older brother took her into his arms and calmed his hysterical sister.

"Jack's right about this one," he told her lightly. "A battle isn't any place for a vampiress. You need to come home with me and rest for the baby you carry."

Out of anybody, he calmed Sharlene and faintly smiled at Jack. None of Sharlene's family members were upset with Jack. Everyone knew her getting pregnant by him wasn't his fault. And Jack appreciated that he got Sharlene out of there.

"Go back home with them!" Now Ace strongly commanded Rose beside him. Officially, she didn't have a choice but to listen. Without being told by Ivan, Mia willingly followed Chester and his advisors.

Once they left, it gave Kai and his friends time to debate about what to do next.

"We need to take her out," Jack glared at her in the paused video.

"Indeed, we will," Kai ensured. "Without her, they can't hide their scent anymore."

"I think she's likely sleeping with Rex," Rome thinkingly informed. "In the surveillance during that evening, Rex and his advisors murdered Ben inside the parking garage. I saw she was kissing Rex when she appeared in that footage."

"So she's his slut but he'll still protect her," Ivan stated.

"There isn't any doubt about that," said Kai. "Whether she's his slut, she's still part of his clan. Rex is a good leader or else no one would follow him. The only mistake he's made is hunting my mate."

"With all that being said. We'll need to be sure to take out the vampire with the ice gift," Ace stated. "Glenn, you have a fire gift. I say he's all yours to take down."

Then Glenn added, "ice gifts are powerful. Same with fire gifts like mine. I can burn him just as much as he can freeze me. One wrong move, one of us will go down. It's the opposite elements of fire and ice going up against each other."

"Just be sure to take him down before he takes you down, Glenn," Ace said next to him.

After speaking, the door to the bar unlocked and a scruffy older biker man came in. He was a bulky large man that could hold a fight.

"What are you doing!" He yelled when seeing Kai and his friends behind the bar. Undoubtedly, stealing liquor or so he believed. "I'm going to ruff you punks up for breaking into my bar to steal from me!"

He went storming and stomping his feet over. Rather quickly, Kai flew over the bar. One hand snatched the bulky man's neck and then Kai's claws pierced into his rough hairy flesh. The man struggled to breathe and his feet lifted off the floor, kicking.

"You came at the right time," Kai grinned, taunting this big guy. "I was just wanting a drink."

Kai's teeth enlarged into steel sharp fangs. Still, the man struggled at Kai's grasp, keeping him hoisted. By using one arm, he brought his prey to his mouth and bites down into the artery on his neck. The man yelled and screamed while blood spewed down his leather vest. Within seconds, the big guy turned weaker. His kicking legs and struggling all but went blimp.

Once finished, Kai extracted his fangs with a loud satisfying hiss. With no effort whatsoever, he threw the man's dead body from his grasp. Far past the bar where his friends stood behind it. The dead man's body goes flying. With a loud clash, the body smashed into this round table with chairs around it. Upon impact, his body broke the table and at least two chairs.

Kai stared at his friends somewhat gawking at him while he wiped the dribbles of blood around the creases on his mouth. Recently, Kai hasn't been feeding much so they kinda figured he'd likely kill any unfortunate human that was to cross his path.

"Satisfied?" Ivan asked when he took a seat across from them at the bar.

"For now," Kai grinned, feeling he did want more even after taking down such a hefty well-nourished man. Otherwise, he was good to carry on with their discussion.
