Ch 180: Rejection Relief

Shortly after Rome told me how to reject Kai to be set free from him. Rose and Ace come in. And I noticed she had a plate full of double chocolate chip cookies. First, she handed Ace the cookies and then she got herself comfortable in the rocking chair. Then she looked over at me smiling when Ace handed her back the plate.

"Would you like a cookie, Victoria?" She offered when she set them on her baby belly.

I slightly shake my head and said, "I don't have much of an appetite."

Rose giggled, cutely, "I guess you aren't at the craving stage in your pregnancy where you wanna eat everything that smells delicious."

Of course, I ignored that statement she made and said to change the topic. "I'm surprised your vamp baby craves human food, instead of blood."

Rose and Ace giggled at me. "Oh, he does but inside the womb, vamp babies are sensitive and curious to smells. So they like to enjoy those taste buds by trying human food," Rose enlightened me.

"This is the first time Rose had ever eaten human food," Ace giggled as he pulled up a chair next to her to read a sports car magazine.

And I tried my best not to gulp too audible at his statement that had them chuckling. "So whenever I first met you, you weren't drinking juice as you claimed?" I asked Rose, not sure why I was curious to know.

"No, it wasn't, it was fresh blood mixed with my prenatal meds," Rose confessed with a chuckle.

I took a steady breath to realize this is real. Vampires do exist. "I'm surprised you take prenatal meds since your baby is immortal," I simply stated.

Rose giggled, "it still benefits the baby's health, growth, and brain development. Plus, I'll at least know he'll have a better chance to get my brains over his father's."

I couldn't help but laugh. Especially, when Ace veered his gaze over to Rose from overhearing her joke.

Rome and Rose even laughed while Ace said, "you can only hope babe. Otherwise, you are stuck with me and my mini-me to drive you insane."

Rose laughed louder, "just remember I learned from best to stab your heart with a pocket knife if you corrupt our son to your level of stupidity."

Ace and Rome laughed themselves silly at her tease. Me, however, I was dumbfounded to learn she knew about that.

"I didn't know anybody else knew about that," I sorta whispered in hopes nobody would hear me.

"I'm pretty sure the whole Coven knows, Princess," Rome laughed.

As Ace chuckled to inform me, "it's not something we could keep a secret! It was far too funny!"

"Was Kai mad, I stabbed him?" I asked, feeling my cheeks blushing sheepishly from my actions but I was scared. I'm sure anybody would react the same way.

"No, I wasn't mad. More like, I was intrigued to learn I have such a feisty little wife," Kai's voice traveled into the room and this black smoke shaped into a being figuration. Until it developed fully and then Kai stood right by the chair, Ace sat in.

Seeing him standing there in his Gothic-style dressy punk suit, not only made him look sexy but also more intimidating since I know he's a vampire. Now it makes better sense as to why he always wears these sexy vampiric men's clothes.

No doubt, I was very much attracted to Kai in a way I never fully understood. Ever since the first day I met him, it's always been like this for me. The smell of his cologne. Then the taste of his lips. That sexy way his eyes peer at me, and the way he touches my body. Were all so addicting like I was enchanted by this alluring spell toward him.

Perhaps, him being a vampire and because I am his mate, is why I can easily get lost by his killer looks. Before Orlando melted that block and captured my heart again. I questioned if I was having feelings for Kai. Nevertheless, whether I did or not, what I feel for Orlando has always been stronger.

"Find out anything interesting?" Kai's strong voice took me out of my dazed thoughts about him and Orlando. And I realized he was talking about the book in my hands.

"It's interesting but..." Those words left my voice and floated away.

"It's still hard to believe that vampires are real?" Kai asked when he talked over my small voice.

"Well, yes, it's not like this should be possible," I said with a more firm attitude.

Kai kinda nodded, "yet you still wanna be with Orlando."

The line was drawn and I stood up nearly yelling at him. "I love Orlando! So yes I do! Why can't you let me go?"

Kai sneered his grim eyesight at me in an unpleasant way. "You need to get over him!" He snipped like a crocodile snapping its teeth at me.

His teeth gritted angrily but I didn't back down. "You can't force me to love you!"

In a dash, Kai's face is inches from mine. His red horrid eyes ate my soul and his teeth ghastly hissed close to the flesh on my face. And his arms held my waist so there was no escape.

"Watch it, my love," he venomously warned in a seethed expression. "Or else I'll invite myself to take a bite out of you."

"Just let me go, that's all I want." I shuddered in a shaky tone and my body shook with fear against his grasp.

Yet Kai said with this more gentle approach. "Not even you can abnegate what you feel between us. Before Orlando saved you, you were having feelings for me. And I know every time I kiss you, you feel a stronger connection with me compared to when he kissed you."

Upon his attempt to confute my feelings, I pulled him off my waist. "You're delusional like you always are, Kai!" I gritted my teeth retorting.

"You're only lying to yourself," Kai said, scowling. "You can't resist the powerful hold you have with your destined mate. Especially, once I turn you. Everything will connect like a puzzle piece for you, Victoria."

I know this will likely be painful for him but it has to be done. I stepped further away as his friends watched amused by this conflict brewing hotly between our attitudes. "I feel nothing and just to prove it. I, Victoria Melody Collin, reject you Kai Collin as my mate!" I chanted beneath my vocals. Then I felt a weight lift from my shoulders.
