Ch 181: Emotions Cut Deep

Dead stillness and quietness lingered within the library. Not one expression appeared on Kai's face. He was emotionless as if he was collecting what I said. The pain was likely surreal for him like it somewhat hurt me too. Yet I felt free like an eagle that took flight off the mountain peak for the first time.

"Now you don't have a choice but to take me back to Orlando!" I sternly demanded, looking at Kai's lifeless eyes.

Then I noticed Jack, Ivan, Mia, Sharlene, and Glenn walking into the library. I could tell by the quick glance I took and knew they each heard me reject Kai.

Then I veered back at him who still said nothing. Until he moved his one hand to his forehead and pinched his brow. "You're an idiot, Rome!" Kai randomly stated and Rome started to crack up uncontrollably.

Nothing but confusion raked my brain. And I looked everywhere and saw almost everyone starting to smile. On cue, they burst out laughing with Rome. The only one who wasn't laughing was Kai when he looked at me like I was clueless.

"I think I liked it better whenever you tried to kill me," Kai said, shaking his head disappointedly.

"That should have worked?" I whispered more to myself but then I looked at Rome grinning like a blockhead at me. Oh, I should have known the childish jokester tricked me!

"Let me make something clear for you, sweetheart," Kai said broadly. "I am a vampire, not some kinda fairytale werewolf that you can reject. We are destined mates and that's how it will forever remain. There is no changing or rejecting that. If I don't turn you then you'll only force me and our child to forever live a life without you. Is that what you truly want?"

I fretted more out of shock if anything. "I'm not pregnant! I can't be pregnant! This can't be true!" None of this can be true! My heart loves Orlando!"

Kai came up to me and pinched my waist up to his. "You can't keep repudiating it. You're pregnant and I will turn you," he said, patiently.

I shoved him away when anger fueled my veins and pumped into my heart. "I won't be with you!"

Kai's gentleness was withering and I could tell his patience was dwindling. "So after you birth me my offspring, you want me to dump you off with your cheating lover! Then I'll take the baby from you to never see it again!"

I was speechless at his harsh words because I didn't want that to happen if I am pregnant. Honestly, I don't know what I am saying or feeling anymore about anything. Emotions inside me were on the rampage.

"I don't wanna be with you and you won't take my baby if I am pregnant," was all I could murmur.

And Kai glared fiendishly at me. "You are pregnant so you aren't given a choice! You're mine, same with our baby!"

"If you truly love me then you'll let me go!" I gritted, angrily.

Kai growled vigorously. "Wrong! It's because I love you and our offspring is why I will never let you go! You'd regret your decision if I did! I know what is best for you and our baby!"

Officially, I snap harshly and meanly. "Says the one who never once visited me while I was in the hospital! Even when I woke up looking for you, you weren't there! You never saved me from Rex because you were too busy cheating! Nor were you there during my ultrasound. All this time you were never once there for me whenever I needed you and wanted you but over you, Orlando was!"

Kai's whole complexion darkened. Even his jawbone and teeth shadowed the inside of his flesh from outside of his mouth like a creepy jack-o'-lantern. Underneath his chest rumbled like this dragon boiling up fire to unleash it at any moment. Then his eyes scorched hotly before he hissed out like a poisonous serpent. He lunged at me as I stepped back, nearly ducking to dodge him! Then he disappeared in mid-air.

Just like that, he was gone from the room. Around the area, I cautiously looked everywhere but I didn't see him anywhere.

"I told you before that he tried to see you, Victoria, but Orlando stopped him! And he explained beforehand that he never cheated! You cut Kai pretty deep right now with your wrong choice of words!" To my right, Jack spoke hideously before he vaded into this eerie fog and depleted.

Teardrops pressed against my eyelids and Mia approached me but I stepped away slightly scared.

"It's ok, Victoria," she smiled feebly. "None of us will hurt you. I was only going to give you a hug is all."

I shook my head to feel forlorn and walked away. From there, I went back to my bedroom.

~~~
About two hours later from me crying inside the bedroom. Firm knocking came at the door. I wiped my watery eyes and opened the door to find Mr. Collin and a maid who bought a trolley for my lunch.
"Good afternoon, Victoria," he greeted kindly with a slight frown.
I said nothing but allowed him and the maid in. She dropped off my food and then left, closing the door. Then Mr. Collin handed me both books I was reading in the library, a car key, and my purse. "I feel you should continue reading these books to learn about us. And also this is your new car key and your phone is inside your purse with everything else. School starts tomorrow. If you're feeling up to it, I feel you should go," he smiled softly to tell me.
"Thank you." Right away, I noticed the car key isn't the same but my cell phone Kai bought me was. "What happened to my car?"
Mr. Collin, sighed, "we have sensitive insights for smells. Unfortunately, Kai got rid of it because it reeked like Orlando. So he bought you a new car."
"I guess I should've seen that one coming. I'm surprised he's letting me go to college." I frowned and Mr. Collin touched my shoulder.
"Kai knows College is important to you and I promise in due time. Things will get better between you and my son," Mr. Collin smiled with hope and then he left out the door.
