**Ch 322: Ferocious Tempers

I wasn't sure what that was about, but regardless, I hurried away from Orlando before he could try to stop me. As I was sauntering within the crowd, Ace came from around the people, and he snatched my wrist gently. He took me away, and we met up with Kai and his friends behind a building that had a picnic area, but the place was vacant and dimly lit by the light poles.

"They figured it out," he told Kai, and I was bewildered by what he meant.

"Who are you talking about?" I questioned them. I only knew many vampires were surrounding the whole campus, but then they just left.

Not giving me an answer, Kai's eyes reddened in rage. "You kissed him!" he gnashed his grisly fangs.

"I didn't mean to." I tell him the truth.

"Like you didn't mean to talk to him the same day you ran into Tyler!" his fangs hissed, and I was shocked to find out he knew, but he didn't say anything until now.

"So your guardians told you?" I asked as his face only got redder.

"I smelled him on you, but since you were upset about Tyler, I didn't mention it." Kai clarified as his eyes scowled frightfully. Now this was strange because the perfume I used didn't work. It was strong like the one Crystal bought me to use on the days I met up with her during that time, I worked in Mr. Collin's office, and Kai never noticed.

"Can you not make such a big deal out of this?" I frowned. "I never meant to kiss him."

"It never would have happened if you didn't answer Crystal's call today!" Kai growled like a ferocious beast.

"So Ivan and Jack were listening in on my conversation!" I spat, glaring at Ivan and Jack within the group.

"Correction, I was the one spying on you." Kai refuted with a deadly scowler.

"You have no right to spy on me!" I yelled, losing my temper.

"I have every right to spy on you!" Kai yelled in my face as everyone else stood quiet.

"Crystal is my friend! I have the right to see her if I wish to." I defended myself. "It shouldn't matter if I see her!"

"You have no right to be around anyone associated with those Mills or related to them! And it does matter, especially when you can't be honest with me!" Kai hissed like a savage.

"You want honesty, then I honestly only came here to see Crystal!" I snapped back.

"Yet, she never showed up, did she?" he growled, pointing this out to me. Regardless, I was told she was coming.

"I'm going back home!" I exclaimed since this was pointless to explain that I was trying to leave. As I went to walk off, he grabbed my wrist and stopped me.

"You can never stay away from them! Like you can't keep your smutty lips off Orlando!" he cruelly hissed in my face, and I gritted my teeth as I harshly flung my hand from his grasp.

Right in front of his friends, my hand flew up, and smacked him with a loud crack across his cheek by mistake. A bead of dark blood rolled down the area where my fingers scraped him, and I felt guilty because I didn't realize my wedding ring was slightly turned to cut his skin.

"Kai, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do–"

My voice faltered in mid-sentence when I heard this fiendish growl rumble deeply beneath his chest. He was beyond furious, and I felt threatened by him.

The next thing I knew, instead of retaliating on me, Kai veered away from facing me. He lifted his hand, and a squally wind picked up as this circular portal opened.

"Whoever is coming with me has ten seconds to enter before I shut it!" Kai warned with this animus emotion in his voice.

Then he entered the twirling light. Without needing to think twice, Rome was the first one to jump in. To follow him, Jack, Ivan, and a handful of guardians dashed in next. I went to leap in, but Glenn and Ace both seized my chance when they grabbed my arms.

"It's not smart to follow him when he isn't thinking clearly," Glenn advised as the portal was starting to close.

"I never meant for any of this to happen," I whispered after it shut.

"Rome will settle him down. Once he's had some space, he'll come around," Ace told me to help lessen the misery I was in.

"I'm going to Nora's dorm," I declared. "If he wants to be like that, then I don't care to stay with him."

"This won't help anything!" Glenn tried to reason with me, but my pregnancy hormones didn't care to heed anything he said. I went right to Nora's dorm after I checked around to see if Crystal ever came, but I noticed Zach, Orlando, and Alejandro were gone now. Something must have come up for her not to show. I thought as I knocked on Nora's dorm.

"Hey, I didn't know you were coming tonight," Nora said after she opened the door.

"I had a bad fight with Kai. Do you mind if I stay with you until Sunday?" I asked, trying not to sound too verklempt, but I know my cracky voice failed me.

"You can stay for however long you'd like," Nora offered, and I settled in. I called Mr. Collin and told him what happened. He had Kai's guardians bring me fresh clothes and other stuff. After watching a movie, we went to bed. I slept on an air mattress in her room, but I couldn't sleep. So I got up to get a drink of water. Going down the narrow hallway, my heart started to race because I noticed a vampire was sitting in Nora's recliner chair. Right through the darkness, his red eyes shone on me like lanterns, and he didn't move. Much slower, I lightly tiptoed closer before entering the living room. Once I did, I realized he was Kai's guardian. A brutish and mean one, at that. He was one of the atrocious ones I didn't like. Nevertheless, I got my drink and went back to bed.
