**Ch 368: Take Down Savannah

Mrs. Collin narrowed her eyes on her oldest son and her husband. Then she crossed her arms and tapped her high heel on the uneven floor.

"What did we do?" Mr. Collin sweetly asked her because he knew her pregnancy hormones were raging right through her.

"You should know better than to threaten Kai!" Mrs. Collin snarled.

"He was going to kill Larry," Mr. Collin refuted rather calmly to keep her relaxed.

Chester growled, barely tranquil. "He would've harmed my mate!"

Mrs. Collin rolled her eyes as her arms dropped, and her foot stopped tapping. "Kai has never harmed a vampiress in our Coven. If you act hostile with him while he is upset, then he will react with violence. When he's upset, you must treat him with care. He's in pain. You should've hugged him, not attacked him," she lectured the two of them.

Then she walked away with Veronica. Neither of them cared to hear any more excuses from them.

Chester and Mr. Collin shared the same dumbfounded expression before they looked at each other. While their clan members acted as if they had heard nothing, yet, Mr. Collin heard a few muffled chuckles coming from Evan and his other nephews.

"Wait until the new vamp baby is born. Then Kai will be in the same dog house as us," Mr. Collin concluded, and Chester liked the sound of that. Meanwhile, everyone else softly chuckled at the scolded father and son.

Within a five-mile perimeter outside of the museum, Kai checked everywhere for Victoria's scent, but he smelled nothing. So he retraced his steps back inside the museum from where she was working inside the research center. Spread all over the table, her two posters and the rest of her supplies were still there, including her purse and coat. Her scent was all over the room, and it ended at the Triceratops display, which was where Savannah blocked it with her gift.

Feeling defeated, Kai sat in the same chair she sat in. Misery now drowned him in a dark endless crater. It was probably too late to save her, he reckoned, but then her face and her captivating smile brought him to the surface from drowning in such despondent. Between the ups and downs, all the memories they shared were replaying in his heart.

"...You know I will protect you." Kai reflected on what he told her when she was learning about the Mills in her time gap.

"I know, Kai," was her response, and he knew then she trusted him.

Hope sparked in his heart that Victoria was alive for now, and he couldn't let her down. Vengeance was faster to replace hope as he balled his knuckles with the wrath that was building up to be unleashed again, but this time, he would be sure to take it out on Rex instead of his family.

Kai quickly dashed to the employee lounge, where he found some of his friends. Some of his family were over by the long tables on his left, and other vampires from their Coven were with them. He noticed his father summoned his Uncle Aaron and a few more of his cousins from his mother's side of the family. Kai already figured his father called them here in case he needed help dealing with him again.

Everyone's chattering dwindled once they noticed him as his father and his Uncle Aaron gazed his way from the long table in the back. Nothing except for silence emanated while they stared at him with uncertainty.

"We need to take out Savannah. Does anybody have any ideas on how we can do that?" Kai directly asked them, and waited for an answer, but everyone remained quiet.

From the couch at Kai's right, Evan asked since he wasn't around most of the time. "First, tell me, what we're up against?"

On the couch directly in front of Kai, Sharlene replied between Jack and Ace. "She's a powerful vampiress because her second gift promotes her to be a seductress. Any vampire who doesn't have a mate or if they aren't in pure love like how destined mates share, then she can bring you down."

"And what level of hotness is she?" Evan smirked as images of her started to form in his head.

Sitting beside him, Rome muttered, "You'll have to sit in a tub of ice-filled water while pouring four buckets of ice on your head."

"Mmm, sounds like my kinda level of hotness," Evan smirked as he drooled at his outward thought, which had all the vampiresses in the room glaring at him like they were plotting his death for saying that about Savannah. "Chill out, my lovelies. I think you are all hotter than her. Jeez, I'm not even married to them." He rephrased, though he mumbled that last part as he hoped they didn't hear him, yet Rome and the other vampires chuckled at him.

Across from Evan, sitting with her family, Sharlene's cousin Leah lectured from the tables. "This isn't a joking matter. Savannah is strong. She can take you down because you don't have a mate. Nor are you in love with any vampiress."

"I'd like to see her try to seduce me. I'll have her on her knees for me," Evan pridefully mocked as he discreetly winked at Kai before anybody else noticed because he knew Evan's deepest secret.

"Don't make us call Tilly!" Sharlene threatened Evan since she knew he always listened to Tilly.

"Alright, I'll stop with the jokes. Just leave my sweet Tilly out of this." Alpha Evan submitted to this one.

Tilly joined his clan after he saved her from no longer being a courtesan to entertain the vampires during the wars. There was once a time when she was human, but she was an enslaved courtesan for men. After vampires destroyed her city, she was chosen to be a vampiress for her to continue to be a courtesan until Evan saved her after she got offered to entertain him in his tent, but instead he paid for her freedom. Ever since that day, she joined the Collin Coven.

Kai secretly knew she was the only vampiress Evan loved, but she rejected him without an explanation. Although Kai was starting to think the others knew Evan loved Tilly, which is possible since he's been sleeping for over centuries. Though he was kind of surprised to figure out his cousin still loved her after all this time, he figured he'd fallen out of love with her by now.

Kai briefly thought until he got back to the main topic. "Since that's been covered. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find her and take her down once we do?"

"I think the answer to your question is directly in front of you," Rose's voice reached the room before she entered behind him. Ace was a little surprised to see her because she should be home with the baby.
