The Cautious Monster Slayer Returns

"Welcome sir." A voice came from the counter to the right.

"Hello, I just came to check out the store. I am the new owner by the way."

"Yes I am aware, Master Atlas. I will help you run the store as best as I can." He responded.

The man behind the counter was a man who looked to be in his late 40's. He had short brown hair and a clean shaven face. He wore a nice black suit with just a vest instead of a coat. He was dressed how one would expect a butler to look.

[Peter Denkins]

[Level 20]

'His level is relatively low, but I guess it won't be too much of a problem.'

Enzo was afraid of players with the thief class stealing his goods from a low leveled clerk, but no player would be even close to level 20 at the moment, so for a while he should be okay.

Enzo then looked around the store.

There were wooden shelves everywhere, just like the other potions shops.

"Sir wouldn't you like to name your shop?" Peter asked.

Ding!

[Please enter the name of your new shop ______ ]

'Hmmmm.'

Enzo scratched his chin as he thought of a name.

[Are you sure you would like to name your store "Hmmmm"?]

'No!'

[Please enter the name of your new shop ______ ]

'Knight's Supplies.' Enzo thought.

[Are you sure you would like to name your store "Knight's Supplies"?]

'Yes.'

"Good name master!" Peter said excitedly.

"Thanks." Enzo responded absentmindedly.

He noticed the sign outside changed to have the new name on it, but he ignored it and resumed looking at the store.

There was a stairway near the counter Peter was standing behind, so Enzo went to investigate.

The stairway led to a second story that was almost identical to the first story, but it was slightly smaller. It had just as many empty shelves, and a counter where purchases could be made, but there was no one standing behind it.

There was also a door behind the counter.

Enzo entered the door and found a personal office behind it. There was a desk, a few chairs, and an empty bookshelf.

He then went back downstairs after checking everything out.

It was getting dark and he wanted to get back to the inn before the sun went down.

"I may not be back for a while Peter, but I will supply the store soon, but keep it closed until then." He instructed the clerk.

"Yes, master."

Enzo nodded his head then made his way back to Silverwind Inn. He had a lot of work to do, and he was also feeling a bit hungry...

~

12 or so hours later Enzo finally finished another batch of 140 health potions.

Enzo let out a breath, "Phew!", and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"I am almost certain this spends almost all of my five points of stamina."

He didn't stop at 140 because he only had that many materials, but rather because he was starting to get really tired.

It wasn't necessarily physical fatigue, but more like mental.

Enzo put his things away and moved to the door to visit his shop again.

'Wait.'

He had a hunch he might be able to do something.

'Shops.'

A holographic menu appeared showing his owned stores, which only included the one shop at the time.

Enzo selected the Knight's Supplies shop he owned on 30th street and a few new holographic screens appeared. The screens showed his current store inventory and his current profits and expenses for the month.

Enzo went to the inventory and put all 140 potions into it and set the price at 1 gold coin and 50 silvers.

'Let's test out the market.'

He was going to see if they would sell at such a high price, and if so there was no reason to lower it to the same price he gave the guild.

There was a button on the profits screen that allowed Enzo to open and close the shop as well, so he did so.

The shop was now open for business.

"Sigh. I've got to get more to the guild too, but they can wait."

It is now time to go regain his spot on the leaderboards.

Enzo's crimson red eyes had a glint in them that any hunter would recognize as the look of a predator cornering its prey.

Enzo left the Inn and made his way out of the city.

He gave a nod to the guards as he left, which they politely returned.

'Map.'

Enzo looked at his map and found the nearby forest. It was just a few miles east of the city, so it shouldn't take him long to get there.

And it didn't. Enzo arrived at the forest in less than 20 minutes.

He took his katana, bow and arrows, and his daggers out of his inventory and strapped them on.

He wasn't going to go into his first real monster infested area without being prepared. Back when he and Juliet were in the tutorial area, he was only using his katana by the end, but he would no longer be able to do that. These were real monsters, not tutorial monsters who lacked basic survival instincts seen in most animals.

Not to mention Enzo was without one of their best resources from the tutorial village, which is Juliet's tracking skill. Her tracking skill helped them to not only find other monsters but to avoid them when necessary. Now, Enzo had to be wary of sneak attacks, or worse, not being able to find anything to hunt.

Enzo walked through the trees, into the forest, and unsheathed his daggers. He wanted to have a weapon ready in the event of a sneak attack, but he wasn't going to lug around a sword or a bow in his hands.

[You have entered the Stonewall Monster Forest]

[Level Recommendation: 10-30]

Enzo took a deep breath and let it out, "Ssssss. Hahhhhh!".

He didn't know what to expect, but he was going to make sure his paranoia was satisfied before walking deeper.
