Overpowered Main Class

Enzo didn't have to travel long before he found his first prey of the day.

The monster looked like a bipedal dragon without wings. The beast's thick red scales were dirty and muddied. It stood at around 7' tall and had a long, thick tail just as tall as its body.

'Yeah, not fighting that.'

Enzo turned around and walked away immediately.

He was not confident in defeating something two levels above him just yet, and all by himself at that.

Juliet may have a class that doesn't help her fighting ability much, but she is still a very skilled fighter, so being without her would decrease his capabilities to kill a monster by a lot.

Enzo moved back closer to the tree line to hopefully find some lower leveled monsters.

It took a while, but he finally found something he was confident in being able to kill.

Enzo walked into a clearing that had a large lake in the middle of it, and a small mountain behind it.

On the side Enzo is facing there is a cliff with a lot of vines falling down it and into the water. It looked like a very peaceful and beautiful place.

'These developers did a good job with the scenery.'

Standing on the side of the lake closest to Enzo was a monster that was drinking water from the lake.

[Forest Panther]

[Level 10]

The monster looked like it would be around 5' (152 cm) tall if it stood up straight. Other than its shiny green fur, it looked like a normal panther, but the fur was shiny as if it just came back from shampooing and washing it.

Enzo studied the beast with laser focus as he started moving towards its crouched body slowly.

[You have marked a Forest Panther as your prey.]

His Predator's Mark skill activated for the first time in a while.

'There!'

Enzo finally saw the slight golden glow of his Insight skill on the part of the panther's tail where it met the body.

Enzo continued moving towards it, but when he got around 20 feet (6 m) away, the panther suddenly stopped drinking and turned around.

"Grrrr." It let out a low pur of warning.

'Just as I thought.'

The monsters in the real world of LRO are much more perceptive and have much better instincts than the ones in the tutorial area, just as Enzo predicted.

Enzo sheathed his daggers and took out Blood Drinker. Then, the panther started circling around Enzo while keeping 10 or so feet (3 m) of distance between them.

They kept circling each other for a whole minute.

"Sigh. Hey, buddy! Can you just attack already?" Enzo asked in exasperation.

However, the beast made no move to attack. Enzo decided to take matters into his own hands.

He brought the katana up to his chest and pointed it in the direction of the Forest Panther before running towards it as fast as he could.

The panther finally moved once it saw Enzo doing so. It charged towards him while letting out a loud snarl.

When they got close enough the panther pounced on Enzo.

"Shit!"

His original plan was to dodge the first attack and go after the tail, but the panther was much faster than he thought it would be. It must have been holding back its speed while charging to save it up for the final pounce.

Enzo quickly hit the ground with the panther on top of him.

"Oof!"

His breath got knocked out of him.

He still managed to roll over and get the beast off him, but not before the panther took a chunk of Enzo's flesh with him.

Enzo ignored the fact that his health was now only at 20 for now and got up to charge at the beast again before it could stand on its own.

Luckily, Enzo was able to get up faster. He slashed his sword down at the panther's tail.

Unluckily, the panther moved its tail at the last second, so Enzo wasn't able to cut it at the weak spot.

'I need a shorter range weapon…'

Enzo quickly realized he wouldn't win this fight with his katana. The panther was just too fast. If Enzo were faster he would be able to keep the animal at a good distance away, but he couldn't so his daggers would be much better in this situation.

He sheathed his sword quickly and took out his two daggers.

The sword may be of a much better quality and do much more damage, but the tradeoff was worth it to Enzo at the moment.

This is one of the reasons why Enzo chose the Monster Slayer class over something like Rogue, Archer, or Knight. The Monster Slayer class is supposed to be much more versatile when it comes to hunting than those two classes. Enzo gets to experience the best of both worlds this way, and hopefully when players start getting more class specific skills his versatility will show even more.

The panther didn't even make a sound of pain after having half of its tail cut off, and tried to pounce on Enzo again.

However, this time he was ready.

Enzo performed an uppercut movement with both daggers facing towards the sky.

The daggers pierced through the underside of the panther's mouth causing a massive amount of damage.

Enzo used the momentum of the animal against itself and swung his arms to the side with the daggers still in its chin.

The panther went flying and the daggers slipped out while still in Enzo's hands.

"Reee!" The panther made a feline scream of pain as it rolled away again.

"Let's see how you like it bitch!"

Enzo took a page out of the panther's book and pounced on it.

He sliced one dagger through the weak spot of the monster, cutting through its tail like butter.

[Critical hit!]

He stabbed the other dagger through its skull.
