Overwhelmed

Even though the forest was slightly dark, Chao's enhanced eyesight from becoming a cultivator could see through it.

Standing in front of Creek City gate was one of the three boys he had robbed previously from.

This boy had a furious expression, intently watching out in the forest, hoping to catch the thief who made such a ruckus out of them. His Origin Aura was released which cause the wind to gush all around, causing his sleek black hair to whip around.

The boy's figure was seemingly imposing.

Yet Chao wasn't struck with a sense of fear.

Now, as a cultivator, Chao could much more clearly sense this boy's prowess. He was merely an average 1st layer Origin without any worth to speak. Even his aura could no longer threaten Chao much as it did before.

Still, compared to a beast monster, killing a human will be tougher. His intelligence will be greater and he has his own cultivation art to enhance his strength.

Chao thought for a moment, pondering his options. At one of his options, a devious smile curled his lips.

He began to walk forward at a leisurely pace, his hands behind his back as if nothing can worry him.

And at that moment, the boy's hostile aura locked right onto him.

"You!!" The boy made a mad dash toward Chao. His refined body appeared within 10 meters from Chao within an instant.

The boy gazed at Chao from head to toe. He didn't bother on why Chao looked so relaxed, only the fact that he not only stole from them but also severely harmed Lian!

But just when the boy was about to act, his soul sense heavily alerted him to danger. Danger that didn't come from anywhere else but from the thief standing meters away from him.

'This...' The boy had his wits about him. He focused his soul sense, fully inspecting Chao's aura. And instead of detecting a mortal aura, Chao exuded a 1st layer Origin realm aura!

"What?! Impossible! How-how?! You were certainly a mere mortal rat just hours ago!!" The boy's eyes nearly popped out of his sockets.

Upon realizing that Chao was a cultivator just like him, his will to kill greatly diminish. As someone who has to struggle to survive, he heavily values his life above everything. Taking on an uncertain fight without any valuable information would only be a detriment to him.

Chao's smile grew wide at the boy's reaction. He merely spared one sentence at him. "A dead person doesn't need to know anything!"

A flash of information ran through Chao's mind as his killing intent greatly erupted.

In that instant, Chao interjected soul energy into his veins. The soul's energy instantly stimulated the blood essence within his veins. It was his first time awakening his bloodline, but the proceeding process was perfectly smooth. To Chao, it felt that was simply moving another body part of his.

After stimulating the blood essence, the soul energy fused within it, causing a tremendous amount of power to frantically release out. This power coursed through Chao's body and seamlessly fused into every inch of his internal body!

'Bang!'

With a loud explosive sound that was like a bomb going off, Chao's aura suddenly explosively rise to an immense level of power!

A faint light icy blue aura shrouded his body. The energy released from his body gushed out frantic airwaves that wreaked utter havoc in the surrounding environment.

Trees had gained meters long cracks, dust from the ground flew all over and a suffocating atmosphere permeated the area.

The sudden powerful aura and airwaves nearly knocked the boy right onto his ass. His face was completely horrified.

He quickly surged the Origin Qi strand within his dantian and his Law Essence core throughout his body, bringing out all the strength he can possibly muster up. His Fire Arts revolved as the boy opened his palm and discharged a meter-long flaming sword. Both his Origin Qi and Law essence fused right into the flaming sword.

In that instant, the boy's prowess reached his absolute limit. The power of his Fire Arts elevated his combat prowess by two degrees!

All cultivation arts heavily benefit a person in various ways. Within any cultivation, arts contain Law essence that was passed down by far more powerful cultivators.

Their Law Essence contains a terrifying strength. And to fully control this immense strength, any cultivator would need to slowly comprehend the Law essence within the cultivation art.

If one can properly comprehend a small portion, then that cultivator can grasp that portion of Law essence with their soul sense and absorb it into their dantian, strengthening their Law cores.

When the art's Law essence finishes fusing into the Law Core, it will be possible for a cultivator to revolve that art's Law essence and gush out more strength that amplifies prowess and is completely controllable.

The boy's aura had greatly increased. However, the sense of threat he felt didn't alleviate in the slightest.

Instead of attacking, the boy attempted to jump back.

But just when he created his flaming sword, Chao was already upon him!

Chao flickered towards the boy at incredible speeds. In his hand was a long Ice essence pike that he thrust right towards the boy's head.

Truthfully, the boy was going far too slowly in Chao's eyes. If he wanted to, he could've easily blitzed the boy before he could even react, surpassing the rate his Spiritual Sea can create thoughts.

However, Chao wanted to test the limits of his Ausra Aura, interested to see just how much of a boost it really gave him.

The boy could just barely react. Within a split second, he swung his flaming sword to match Chao's Ice pike.

But even though the boy used far greater Origin Qi and Law essence than the monster beast, his prowess meant absolutely nothing against Chao's.

The Ice essence pike could not be stopped. Within it contained the absolute power of the Asura Aura and Asura Ice Law essence! It easily smashed the flaming sword into tiny essence particles.

Chao's momentum didn't slow down. He continued to thrust the Ice essence pike forward, penetrating it right into the boy's forehead!

Chao's Asura Aura power tore through the boy's refined body enhanced by Origin Qi like fragile glass.

A trail of blood spurted out of his head. The Ice pike instantly smashed the boy's brain into gooey mush with an overwhelming force of energy.

The boy's eyes were open wide in horror as his last image was Chao smiling deviously at him.

Between Chao and the boy, it was a one-sided massacre!

Chao recalled his Asura Aura and instantly felt a wave of dizziness. He nearly collapsed right to the ground.

The amount of energy he used was substantial to sustain the power of Asura Aura was substantial. He could sense that his overall energy reserve capacity dropped to around 30%!

Chao let out a huge breath. 'So much energy and I only used it for a second!'

Just as Chao was about to rest, a stream of energy flowed right off the boy's dead dantian and flowed straight into Chao's dantian.

A refreshing sensation overtook Chao. He instantly felt energetic. Within his dantian, two more Origin Qi stand formed and his Spiritual Sea experienced a slight increase in nourishment.

Chao closed his eyes, basking in the slight increase in strength. Opening them back up, he gazed down at the boy's corpse.

Any negative or distracting thoughts didn't surface within Chao's mind. He only sighed, quietly saying, "After all, this can be counted as my third kill. But this time, it's against a cultivator! A superhuman basically. A person I could have only sighed in amazement for previously. Now...it's just a stepping stone for my eventual legend."

Chao cracked a small smirk. Things like mortality or peace simply didn't exist in his mind. For as long as he can remember, his life was engraved with kill or be killed.

And for the sake of his sister and for himself, Chao can't spare any mercy to his enemies. The low-class sum's life taught many valuable lessons for Chao.

Chao was just about to take a step forward when he felt the ground slightly vibrate. At the same time, a sense of danger struck his mind.

Reacting on instinct, Chao rapidly sprinted to his right. When he was 100 meters away from his origin spot, he dived right into a random large bush.

Focusing his mental state, Chao attempted to erase his presence. He nearly held his breath, staying absolutely still while in a position to get a clear view of the action.

Chao peered out of the bush only to see a humongous monstrous ape barreling through in a frantic burst.

The beast had to be at least 12 feet tall and as wide as a stone boulder. Its huge size smashed trees apart and released powerful airwaves that could heavily strike any weak 1st layer Origin realm cultivator.

Chao was truly stunned. This huge, savage beast seems unreasonably strong by all standards!

If one of those airwaves hit him, Chao doubted he could put a fair defense.

The marvel, however, had only just begun.
