Attainments Paths

Chao soon had to stop completely. Going further will only drain his energy and possibly end up killing him.

Even under this great pressure, Chao wracked his mind about how to proceed. Such a wonderful treasure was ahead of him. There wasn't any way he'll just leave this for somebody else.

In the midst of his thoughts, Chao gradually spread his soul sense out, letting it infuse into the surroundings.

Nothing happened for a couple of seconds. Then, suddenly, to Chao's complete surprise, his Spiritual Sea started to experience strange sensations.

These sensations were similar...no...they were exactly the same as what he detected within the green mist!

Chao's eyes soon lit up. His mind quickly within just a second, thinking, 'These sensations are the slightest energies principles within the green mist. It contains both Origin energy and some type of Law essence. I may not be able to rush through or achieve some sort of breakthrough...but...'

An understanding gradually emerged within Chao's Spiritual Sea. The principles within the green mist contain various complex mysteries of cultivation as a whole.

Slowly perceiving the thick of the mist allowed Chao's perception of both the Nature Path and Source Law Path to slowly increase.

His overall understanding of nature was enhanced. He could comprehend how wide and broad the Nature Path really is.

Base Origin Qi was just the foundation of everything. Beyond this were three stronger layers of Origin Qi to fully comprehend. This allows one to completely utilize the full power of Nature Origin's energy.

When this level is reached, the doorway to Divinity would be insight!

As for the Source Law Path, this was the fuel to life and nature. All Source Law Paths are derivative of the grand Great Daos.

Without the Great Daos, life wouldn't be the same at all. The foundation of Nature would be here. But there would be nothing fueling it, nurturing it, giving it life.

This is where the Great Daos comes into play. Through the combination of Nature and the Great Daos could life as they know it exist!

Chao's body suddenly shivered. What felt like a breakage in his Spiritual Sea caused a wave of enlightenment to take over his whole being.

The borders of his Spiritual Sea suddenly increased. He didn't even need to achieve a regular breakthrough to enhance his perception abilities.

At this time, the system notified Chao. 'Congratulations host on reaching quasi-master attainment in both Nature and Source Law path. The host's perception speed is enhanced by dozens of times. Understanding other Law Paths is no longer near impossible and cultivation arts will come much smoother for the host. The host can also advance further to the center of the mist and stay for 10 minutes because his perception of the swamp's mist also increased.'

'Oh?' Chao didn't notice it at first. But now that he was coming down from his enlightened trance, Chao could feel that the pressure was lighter than ever.

Moreover, he felt closer to the green mist, as if he was beginning to understand how and why it was made.

At the same time, a considerable drain weighed on Chao's body. Because of what the system told him, Chao decided to take a risk.

He cautiously deactivated his Asura Asura!

At the first sign of death, Chao was ready to run back. However, whether he had the Asura Aura or not, the pressure didn't change.

The opportunity was presented on a platter for Chao. He took off with less extreme speed than his Asura Aura state but still faster than any 3rd layer Origin expert.

Within 30 seconds, Chao soon reached the end of the mist. In front of him laid a massively wide moat of some strange, sickly green water.

Greed lit up Chao's eyes. His soul sense detected the most potent mist's energy principles from this sickly green water.

The essence of a Tilted Heavenly Origin expert was no joke. If this place wasn't so heavily diluted over the years, Chao fathoms that he wouldn't even be able to take a foot into the green mist even at his full power.

Getting rid of all other distracting thoughts, Chao closed his eyes and poured his soul sense into the green swamp.

Sensations of both Nature Origin Qi and general Source Law essence swirled through Chao's Spiritual Sea.

The principles of a Tilted Heavenly Origin expert were truly profound. It gave unimaginable sensations, almost like he was peering into the sky of the Great Daos.

Chao didn't even realize it. Time passed all around him, but he wasn't aware of anything except for one thing. The mystical principles of the Heavenly Origin swamp.

...

Outside the Heavenly Origin's swamp, a tall, imposing-looking man slowly strolled up.

This man wore clothes far different from anyone in Creek's City. It didn't consist of luxurious magical robes formed from Qi silk. But rather, it was roguish-looking leather armor that was still made from Qi silk.

This man would stick out like a sore thumb in Creek City. He bared no resemblance to the elegance that Martial Families, sects, or academies have.

Furthermore, his presence was overbearing. It contained a layer of thick killing intent. If anyone peak 3rd layer were to come close to this man, they would feel a faint pressure within their chest.

Indeed, this man surpassed the Ordinary Origin phase and reached the Tilted Origin phase! He is a genuine 4th layer expert. A person who can control 40% of base Origin Qi and around 6% of Ordinary Law essence.

His cultivation brought a great amount of confidence to the man. He appeared entirely relaxed as he got close to the green mist and nearly sat down.

But before he could go about his business, his soul sense suddenly alerted him.

'Hm?'

The leather armor man crossed his arms with a curious expression. He waited until he saw a young man slowly walking out of the Heavenly Origin mist.

In an instant, the leather armor man's curiosity surged. His gaze became completely intent. 'This...? How can some kid calmly walk through this mist?! Not even a Mastered 7th layer can survive more than a second here!'

The man was arrogant, but he wasn't a fool. If this kid can somehow survive the mist despite being a mere 2nd layer Origin warrior, there must be something special about him.

Soon enough, the man came face to face with Chao. A small smirk curled the man's lips. He didn't make any aggressive movement or poured out an overbearing aura.

In fact, his voice was calm as he said, "Kid, you must be aware to survive in that mist requires a great amount of power? Something that not even a 6th layer can hope to possibly match. Really, I'm curious about just how you did it."

This man appeared imposing, but he was quite knowledgeable about social etiquette. There wasn't a genuine, threatening vibe from his presence.

But of course, Chao wouldn't be so easily fooled by this. The greed was far too evident in this man's eyes.

Moreover, if not for the fact that he accomplish some great feat, Chao didn't doubt the man would pounce on him without any hesitation.

Chao swept his soul sense over the man, identifying he's a Tilted Phase Origin cultivator at the 4th layer.

This man had already breached a great step in cultivation. With 4th layer power, his Origin Qi and Law energies are dozens of times far more powerful.

The increased thickness of his energies could even produce an aura that can make 1st layer Origin crash to their knees.

That memory with that one Tilted Origin beast flashed within Chao's mind. At that time, he was utterly helpless against that kind of power. The mere shock waves of that beast's attack sent him flying like a rag doll.

But now, in the face of another Tiltied Origin being, Chao felt zero fear and a small surge of anticipation. He was itching to test his new prowess after completing the swamp mission. It nearly made him want to strike out first.

However, Chao reeled himself in. No matter how eager he was, the clothes of this man confused him too much.

That leather armor bears some resemblance to clothes sold around the city. But these were typically worn by mortals.

Cultivators believed themselves to be on a higher plane of existence. The clothes they wore represented their status and also passively help in battle or in cultivation.

Cultivators' clothes are made up of Qi-infused materials after all. Thus, most clothes worn by cultivators would typically be luxurious and or classical.

Leather armor just seems too particular to simply ignore.

Chao crossed his arms, directly staring into the leather armor man's face, and said, "Perhaps I do have something on me. Or maybe it's my own abilities. But either way, I have a question to ask. That clothing you're wearing...you're not from Creek City, are you? Just who are you?"

A glint faintly sparkled in the man's eyes. He even spread his hand, raising a cry of surprise. "Ah? You don't know about us? We have quite the history in Creek City, you know. You could say that our influence reaches every corner. Not even Wind Winter Sect, Sky Breeze Sect, or Great Sword Sect dares to mess with us."
