Chapter 33: Hell Hath, no Fury.

Marcell’s POV.

“It’s imperative that you listen to what I’m about to tell you completely before you react,” Ren spoke for the first time since I arrived back at the estate from Olivia’s office.

“I would like to remind you once more of what role you place in this game, Ren.”

I could still fill the dull, cold, and void ache. The ache left behind from watching the life literally bleed out of the young kids’ life. The restraint that Ren had been referring to no longer existed. Evident enough in my most recent actions at Olivia’s work.

I had guised my behavior under the umbrella that I was acting out of pure concern. Utter worry and fear for her blatant disregard for herself. But if I were honest with myself, I was looking for an outlet to unleash my fury. A target. Someone that could suffer. Purely because I was suffering.

“Don’t. Don’t turn into him, Marcell. You’re not him. Don’t let your fear make you become what you hate.”
