Flying into a seated position, I wildly looked around, my heart still racing. Panting, I looked from side to side, hardly taking in my surroundings. So many new and unfamiliar scents flooded my nose, rushing into my lungs. My mind exploded with the information and I couldn’t make any sense of them. I couldn’t pick any single scent apart from the others.
I grabbed the sides of my head and groaned, hunching forward. I couldn’t shut it out.
Where was I?
Glancing around again, I saw a mirror on the wall, a bookcase in the corner, and I was sitting on a bed. A very, very comfortable bed. I dropped my hands to the comforter. I found the fluffy down and the pillow topper oddly soothing – given the circumstances.
Slowly, my pulse settled and I inhaled deeply through my nose. All the scents untangled and I could find one that I knew well. Loki. So, he was the one that had grabbed me off the street.
