New identity

She shoved the signed paper towards Irvyn after signing it.

"There you go, I did whatever you wanted me to do, Mr. Collins."

Irvyn could notice the coldness in her eyes, as she didn't even spare a glance at him while passing the papers. Instead, she looked towards Josh with a stern look on her. "Is there anything else I need to do?"

"Uh… anything else…," Josh was left dumbfounded by her expression and sudden words. He expected her to be devastated, sad, and when she was desperately trying to get out of the tangled situation Irvyn plotted, he was convinced that she was indeed, a average young girl, having her dreams shattered and life jumbled up by a wealthy guy, which was in no way justice to her.

"Pack your stuff, and be ready at noon tomorrow. Josh will be picking you up, and drop you off at my office." With that declaring, Irvyn got up from his table, and left the place raising a heavy loud sound of his shoes, leaving behind the girl totally clueless.

"My belongings? Why do I need to…" Yvette spoke up, not really getting his words.

"You think Irvyn Collins will let his wife live in her maternal home?" He glanced back, eyes straight on her with a piercing gaze. "Oh, I suppose I can't call that home your maternal one, after all, they seem to have all ready to get you out of the house, as they seemed really excited about the thought of me getting you in my house."

"And that is not something I need to know from you, Mr. Collins," Yvette gritted her teeth, barely holding her back to get up and slap across the cheeks of that arrogant man. "I am very well aware of my relationship with people. So I don't need you to clarify that."

She got up, walking past Irvyn, and only when she was a few steps ahead of him, then she turned around to look at him face to face, glaring back with the equal intensity of his. "You better not be late, Mr. Collins. I have my fair share of duty too, for your information."

And she left the restaurant.

"I hope my boss doesn't regret this," Josh let out a sigh, thinking to himself. He hoped her to be someone of a strong nature, as Irvyn really pushed this thing to happen with her. But a feisty one, he never expected that to be happening.

Just then, a loud sound of phone ringing came, and Josh took out his cellphone from his suit pocket. Giving one glance at it, his face changed expression to a sour one. He hesitated a while before turning to Irvyn, "Vinnie, it's Hailey."

Irvyn glanced once towards the phone screen, and clearly the name Hailey Rose was flashing brightly on the screen. He took the phone from Josh's hands without hesitation, and received the call.

"Hello?"

"Mr. Irvyn Collins!" a sharp female voice came from the other side of the call, deafening his ears. His eyebrows knitted tightly together, and one look at him was enough to make sure of how pained he was feeling just by the simple voice of someone.

"I guess a conversation can happen, without even you shouting, Miss Hailey. Speak whatever you want to."

"Oh yes? And after insulting me this badly, you expect me to stay calm and not to shout? Huh!" Hailey was fuming on the other side, her nails digging into her palms, leaving blood red marks on it.

"Seems like you don't have anything else to say. Well then," he spoke up, disregarding any of the shouts Hailey gave him, and ended the call leaving her dumbfounded.

"WHAT? Did he just… argh I swear I'll kill this man brutally someday!" Hailey roared over the phone, even though the call ended long ago, she shouted as high as she could, in hopes to get her words to the man.

The next day, Josh came at the exact time he was supposed to. He expected some resistance or some kind of drama, but to his surprise, he found Yvette standing in the doorsteps, waiting for his arrival.

"Good day, Mr. Josh," Yvette greeted him, wearing particularly no expression in her face. Josh felt like he kinda missed the warm smile she usually gives while greeting others. But thanks to his boss, he doesn't think he will be able to see that anymore.

"I… thought you would be late," Josh responded, while his eyes scanned the surroundings. He found her standing with only one small luggage, which possibly could carry a few sets of clothes at max. "This is it?"

Yvette followed his eyes, and found out he was talking about her luggage. "Yeah, that's all. There is barely anything to pack, if you are someone who never belonged somewhere in the first place." She let out a dry smile at him. And giving a one last glance of the house she was leaving behind, she stepped ahead and sat inside of the ride.

Josh nodded his head slightly, as if he was trying to take in and understand whatever she meant, and went back to the seat beside the driver. Signaling him to drive ahead, he let his eyes rest for a bit. Thinking about all the drama he will see today, and how the entire Collins family is going to come at him for explanation and all kinds of stories, he couldn't sleep a wink yesterday night, to the point that his head was hurting like crazy.

And Yvette looked outside through the car window, dazed. The only thought that kept running in her mind was about how her entire life is going to go ahead from now on, and how massive change will reel in.
