Three days had passed.
Elliot and Celia kept my body on his bed, covered in blankets and always changed the towel on my forehead to keep me from getting a fever.
Elliot was on guard, just outside his front porch, which overlooked the field and the forest to the far west.
He was in deep thought,
"I wonder if they will come searching for her here? It would not surprise me at all, but for our sake, let's hope they overlook this sector. I have told them, I want to be left alone, that was our agreement after-all."
The front door opened and Elliot spun around so quick, perhaps thinking it was me, but it was only Celia, and she cracked a smile and asked bluntly,
"Big brother, did you think I was Crystal?"
He was not impressed at his sister's remark, yet, he knew she was witty and unbelievably smart for her age and he answered,
"I just -" Then Celia cut him off,
"You totally thought I was Crystal, don't even deny it. You are so easy to read, big brother."
"Hey, what is that suppose to mean?" He scoffed.
"It means that you like Crystal, and I for one, think it's so cute. I haven't seen you be all, 'high and mighty' like this ever, and there has to be a reason for it and I think it's because of her." She smirked, knowing for a fact, she was ninety-five percent right.
"I do not know what you are talking about, Celia. She is special, but doesn't mean I like her or anything."
Celia rolled her eyes and sat on the swinging chair they had on their porch.
"Do you think she'll be okay?" Celia asked, while looking down at her sparkly socks.
"Yes, I think she'll pull through once she fully recovers."
Celia was a brave girl, but Elliot could tell she was uneasy about the whole situation that has risen, and he needed to reassure her everything would be fine.
"I think I should go check on her, it has been three days after-all, I hope she awakes soon, but I know she needs as much rest to recover." Elliot said as he walked upstairs.
Celia jumped of the swing and followed Elliot while closing the front door behind her.
"Brother, you know, in a way I guess, she is just like you." Celia said.
"She's like me in some ways, yes, but, she's different; special even, because she's a hybrid." Elliot answered.
"Hybrid, what is that?" Celia questioned with a confused look.
Elliot laughed when his 8 year-old sister, Celia asked that, of course she knew some things, but not everything.
"She's half werewolf and half fairy; more werewolf though, as her fairy like qualities make her beautiful in human form just like her mother. Yet, she's a warrior like her father. Her father was alpha of the, Memphis wolf-clan." Elliot glanced at his younger sister and her eyes went wide, and she whispered,
"That means she is really, really special then, I cannot believe it, she's just like a princess like me then!"
Elliot smiled, nodded and said,
"Let's go back downstairs, to let her rest more, perhaps you could turn on the kettle?" Elliot said.
"Okay!" Celia replied and she skipped to the kitchen.
Elliot walked down the stairs, and only got halfway when he stopped in his tracks when the floor creaked behind him. He turned around saw me. His eyes grew wide and is cheeks began to blush.
I glanced down to see that I was wearing a pretty gown, light blue, with silver-jewel patterns. I must have got clothed, hopefully by his sister when I had blacked out.
God-forbid if Elliot came near my body. I swear to god I'd kill him.
"Crystal, you should be resting." Elliot said, with a concerned look.
"I am happy I am no longer resting because, that fucking nightmare happened again and this mysterious guy has such a hold of me I cannot stand it anymore. Why can't you sense it like before?" I asked in a disappointed and shaky voice.
"I-I-Uh had no idea. I am sorry! I wish I could've been more help. Perhaps, he is getting stronger and I can no longer sense when he is invading your mind, or it's the possibility that you had recently transformed during your trip here that could have caused a stronger link." Elliot replied, while I could see a saddened look upon his face.
Stronger? But how? I guess that explains the tighter grip on me. Yet, what is giving him this new power, I wonder?
"You're telling me you have no control or anything that could help me release him? Do you know who this guy is? He knows so much about me, my family and he's the one that has my sister! Please, I am so confused. He says I am going to be his queen and I have no choice, but to obey him."
Before Elliot could respond, I cut him off by also noting,
"Why am I back to my human self though, if you say I transformed, wouldn't I still be transformed?"
He was anxious, why wouldn't he be, I am pretty intimidating.
"You body is not used to that change yet, therefore your body turned back to your normal self in order for it to heal.."
Elliot did not answer my first question, as if it was something truly horrible and not even he could do anything about kt.
"Is it true? What you said about me earlier, and what you assume I am?" I asked, disregarding his concern.
He came up and I gestured him to sit on the top step with me.
"You heard all that, huh?" He asked.
Of course I heard that! You would think he thought I was deaf or something, sure I was in the nightmare for what seemed like forever, but when I got out of it, I was awake, just lying there with my eyes closed.
"Yes. I don't fully understand what you meant though. I am just a normal human being. There's no way I can be half fairy, half werewolf or whatever you think I am." I replied.
He looked down at my hands and answered,
"Crystal, I don't think it's really my place to tell you about your past. I was young once too and my parents were friends with your parents. I heard a lot about when you were born and who you'd become. The talk around these parts were always about 'the girl who would be our savior, the light through the darkness and perhaps one day our ruler'. -"
I cut him off,
I cannot be talking about this right now, I need to get out of here to save my sister.
"Whoa! Stop right there. Before, you continue on your crazy and out of this world story, how long have I been out for? I know it's random of me to ask, but I was just wondering due to my sister's sake!"
"Three days." He said.
WHAT!?
"Three days and you didn't think to wake me up sooner? As for the whole me being a ruler. It's not correct. You and your lot, are confused and you must have the wrong girl! I honestly do not know if I can believe you about your parents being friends with mine, but regardless, I am a normal, human being. I go to school, I am graduating in a few months. I have a sister that means the world to me and I lost her. I sworn to protect her and I failed. I am no werewolf, no fairy, whatever you think I am, you're wrong. "
Just human. I'm just human.
"Crystal, we are going to get Serenity back."
Elliot took my hand and brought me down the stairs. When we walked to the kitchen, his sister gestured us to sit down and have a bite to eat.
My head fell to my palms that rested on my knees and I began to cry.
"It's all my fault, I should have never came here. If I just stayed, I would have been there to protect her."
"Think about it, if you had been there, they would have gotten you too!" Elliot replied, knowing for a fact there would be no chance of me fighting back." Elliot stammered.
Celia's face was glowing and elegant and full of happiness. I could feel her presence, she loved having company over, I just wish it was under different circumstance. She is too young to understand the situation I am in.
"I guess you don't get much folks around here?" I questioned.
Elliot turned to me and answered,
"You sensed that huh, well I mean, my sister does have a tendency of showing her emotions a little too much. Yet, your wolf like qualities helped with knowing how my sister felt."
I still cannot believe, I am part wolf.
"Elliot?" I said, while looking into my cup of tea.
"Yes, Crystal?" Elliot put his hand on my leg.
What is he doing? Why is his hand there? What is this feeling? Okay, calm down Crystal... breathe, just breathe. He's just being friendly, right? Oh god, I think I am starting to blush. Keep it cool Crystal. Fuck.
Before Elliot could reply to me, I felt like my head was floating and I immediately fell unconscious.
