In the blink of an eye, they were back at Stark Mansion, panting and flushed. They could hardly believe the mind-boggling adventure they had just had.

Peggy welcomed them with a mischievous look. 'It seems like you had quite a bit of fun... I hope you've been careful!'

Pepper blushed furiously. Tony just shrugged, saying, 'Well, Peggy, a gentleman doesn't talk about these things!'

While Tony hurried down to the basement where he kept his equipment, Pepper helped Peggy in the kitchen.

'She told me about this mystical journey with an elder... it sounded pretty crazy,' she whispered.

Peggy nodded thoughtfully. 'Stark is full of surprises... but I suppose he knows what he's doing.'

Downstairs, Tony was already working feverishly on his miniaturized Arc reactor. The rhythmic sound of hammering and the whir of electric welding filled the room.

He couldn't wait to test his new creation. Tomorrow, he would put his plan into action to help the Quill family. No challenge was too great for Iron Man!

But first, he would work on his Arc reactor. Even though he was now a magical version of Iron Man, he would never abandon his origins. With these thoughts, Tony continued to work on his project. He moved between his machinery and robotic arms while playing loud music to lift his spirits.

Peter Quill's childhood was a cosmic adventure amidst earthly chaos. He lived in a simple cottage in the mountains, where the cold wind blew like a breath of freedom. His mother, Meredith, was his light and life, and he adored her like a space queen. She always told him incredible stories about his father, about him being a brilliant man from space. These stories were like music to Peter's ears, and he dreamed of meeting his father and traveling the universe.

Peter didn't do well in school because he was different from the other kids. He was a space and science fiction nerd. He was bullied by a mean boy named Tommy, who made fun of him and his single mother. Peter didn't take insults lightly, but sometimes he got into trouble. His only friend was Lisa Chang, a smart and brave girl who lived nearby and also loved science fiction. She was his adventure partner and confidante.

And when he got home from school, he didn't find his mother there. Instead, his grandfather was waiting.

'What's this, my young man, your eyes are bruised? Come here and let me see that,' said his grandfather.

Quill evaded, embarrassed that his grandfather had easily seen that he was injured.

'It's okay, I just fell on the ground repeatedly. Violently!' said Quill, trying to downplay what had really happened.

'You know, Peter, I was young once too, so I understand what you're going through,' said his grandfather, turning Quill to look into his eyes.

'We're going out. We're going to where your mother is,' the boy's grandfather said, still not realizing it.

'Where's Mom?' asked Quill, only now realizing that his mother wasn't with them.

'She went to the doctor,' the boy's grandfather said, giving a tap on the boy's head.

'Alright,' Quill nodded, still not really having an idea of what had happened.

During the journey, there was a heavy atmosphere in the air, and no matter how much time passed, it became clear that whatever it was, it was really serious.

After parking the car nearby, Quill and his grandfather went to the hospital's reception to find out where Meredith's ward was. After that, they went to the room where Meredith and her mother were, both looking dejected, as if they had received terrible news.

Peter and his grandfather entered the hospital room where Meredith lay, looking tired and downcast. Her face carried a sadness that Peter had never seen before.

'Mom, what happened? Why are you here?' Peter asked, his voice trembling.

Meredith looked at her son with a sad smile. 'My love, sit here next to me. I have difficult news to tell you.'

Peter looked apprehensively at his grandfather, who nodded reassuringly. The boy sat on the edge of the bed and held his mother's hand.

'I'm sick, Peter. Very sick. The doctors found a brain tumor,' Meredith said gently.

Peter felt as if the ground had disappeared from beneath his feet. His mother, the most important person in his life, had a serious illness. Tears began to well up in his eyes.

'But... it'll be alright, won't it? The doctors will cure you!'

Meredith stroked her son's face. 'I wish it were that simple, dear. This cancer is hard to treat. That's why I'll need to spend some time here in the hospital for treatment.'

'Can I stay with you? We can watch movies together, and I'll tell you all the school news!' Peter said, trying to sound cheerful.

'My love, you can't miss school. Your grandfather will take care of you while I'm here.'

Peter couldn't hold back the tears. His small body trembled as thick tears rolled down his face. How could he go home and leave his mother alone in the hospital? She needed him!

Meredith pulled Peter into a tight hug. 'Shhh... don't cry, my boy. Everything will be alright, you'll see. We're stronger than any illness.'

In the following days, Peter visited his mother in the hospital every day after school. He always brought a new drawing he made for her. He loved to see the smile on his mother's face as she admired his artwork.

Sometimes, when Meredith was feeling better, they watched episodes of science fiction series together and ate hospital macaroni. Peter loved these moments when he could pretend that everything was normal.

But as the days went by, it became clear that Meredith was getting weaker. She lost her hair due to chemotherapy, and her features became increasingly drawn.

Peter tried to be strong for his mother. He swallowed his tears when he saw her so debilitated. He wanted to be a brave son who could cheer her up in difficult times.

One night, Peter had a vivid dream of his cosmic father. He appeared surrounded by a golden light, smiling at Peter. 'Don't worry, son. I'm taking care of you,' said the ethereal voice. Peter woke up with a comforting feeling that his cosmic father was watching over them.

But not even cosmic powers could stop the progression of the disease. On Peter's birthday, Meredith could barely get out of bed. Her body was consumed by the relentless battle against cancer.

'My love, can we sing "Happy Birthday" together?' she asked with a weak voice.

Peter held her hand tightly and sang the song through tears. He knew that this could be his last birthday with his mother.
